The sooner we get nuclear fusion the better, perhaps the govt can help subsidize solar installs on homes, that will go a massive way to offsetting our energy needs, mandate it in the building code to have solar panels, its a drop in the bucket of the cost of a new home these days.
And I think hydrogen is a waste of time, its a very inefficient way to store energy, you use so much more energy to produce the gas from water than what you get out of it.
Seems a good excuse to use more of our power when Tiwai closes and that way the consumer pays more for their power.

Nuclear fusion is pie in the sky - there have been articles for the last half century touting it as "just around the corner". Solar panels, and the electronics needed to control them, all use fossil energy in their manufacture - so increasing the use of them hastens the end of fossil energy...and then they wear out.

Lets go nuclear , cleaner more efficient, its always there , but in this country nuclear is a dirty word, what a shame.

No.
There is a big nuke in the sky. Let's just use that.

Also known as an Arc Reactor So no longer pie in the sky.
