This is an interesting take on the progress being made on AI. As this technology advances the ability to recognise it from 'the real thing' will become increasingly difficult. My partner is a tutor at a distance learning college and has plagiarism detecting software in her toolbox but AI generated content puts a whole different perspective on this issue.

ahhh Napster... and gmail I understand his frustration, gave up on that years ago.

I hear the latest version 4 of chatgpt is out now...
For years, there have been cheats in higher education. I was offered very good money to do more than just edit assignments for other students, but fortunately didn't have the time available, lol. It was very tempting money.

Our community looks at education as a product to be bought and sold. So long as that state exists we will undervalue the process, and undermine it with poor teaching, poor curricula, poor qualifications, and poor achievement. One of the things AI may bring is a reassessment of the way we view education. A reassessment of what is actually needed in 'schooling', how far we need to pursue information acquisition instead of knowledge generation, and what purposes we can assign to the process of education.

And I think that would be a good thing. Because the state of education today sure needs a huge shake up to match the changes technologies have brought to us all.
This looks interesting as a means to detect AI generated content

C'mon CT, human beings have been telling each other and the rest of the living world to die die die since they developed language...

You expect AI not to do so?
I tried out the new Bing last night. I asked how old was the New Zealand Prime Minister. Received details for Jacinda Adern. The program asked for feedback and so stated incorrect and supplied the right answer.
Yeo the video is great. For me i think that we do not ready for creating our Geth, we still need to learn

ChatGPT Bot Flunks Gastroenterology Exam

"Versions 3 and 4 of the chatbot scored only 65% and 62%, respectively, on the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Self-Assessment Test. The minimum passing grade is 70%. You might expect a physician to score 99%, or at least 95% ..... ".
I rather enjoyed the recent piece that pointed out ChatGPT had developed a habit of making up fake answers to silly questions.

It may already be too late.
