Can't decide what is the most worrying, that Musk chooses to promote this CT rhetoric using X/Twitter or that extreme nationalism like this so closely mirrors the social climate that preceded WW2.

Have you seen the videos being shared with people flooding the borders?

We are lucky we are an island nation, but we just have to stop importing more ourselves.

Elon explains very well why he is no longer voting democrat.

As is said 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence' and that is increasingly so as political instability and climate driven social disruption affects the countries those immigrants are escaping.

Sure there are issues to address in assimilating recent immigrants into their destination countries and one of the greatest is xenophobic attitudes from the existing populace. Having recently spent time in hospital where the nurses were all immigrants, bar one NZer who it turns out was an antivaxxer rabbiting on about her beliefs, it was apparent to me that our health system at least is being kept functional by imported staff and without them NZ would be in dire straits.

Note also the lost workers from the Baltimore bridge disaster appear to be immigrants from south of the US border. Maybe that is indicative of the attitude towards menial work by much of the US population and like so many countries those jobs are commonly filled by those who see the US of A as a land of opportunity compared to their previous life.

The US has so many social issues as it stands, I can't comprehend why they want to make it worse by letting more people flood through.
Their own citizens need the jobs too, unemployment is bad enough there as it stands.
The bigger problem is that capitalism is about to collapse at this rate, it's unsustainable when all the ones at the bottom can't earn enough to get ahead, let alone live.
It's pretty clear that the democrats want to bring in more people to vote for them.
