Its that time of year again, i took a cutting off the tree that my parents neighbours had coming over the fence.
That thing was prolific but getting way too big so they cut all the branches away and still got plenty of fruit falling on their side.
My cutting is now about 5 years old and is growing fast, have picked two full bags of the things this week alone and its only a small bush.
Biggest downside with these trees is the amount of pruning they require so they dont get out of hand!
First crop for the trees we put in about 3 years ago.
Feijoa fizz...

Apparently it is very good stuff.

Btw, the best fruit are the ones on the ground. Sugars at their peak when the tree releases them...
Yeess, I was wondering if they were ripe yet, and how to tell. And then I saw some on the ground - duh, yes, they are ripe.

Yup, only pick the ones on the ground.
You only have about 3 days to consume them before they loose sweetness.
They have a short shelf life and store bought ones are hard as bricks because they are picked early.
