while the maori were a formidable warrior people, they met a well oiled colonising machine..
well armed, well organised and well capitalised.
that the maori got a treaty at all was somewhat removed from our usual m.o.
at no time did we ever intend to honour it.
we continue to reap what was sown.
but what the hey
my ancestors were colonised multiple times and never sought redress from our occupiers.
the vikings, the french, the romans, the hun, the normans and today by the middle east.
we thought those were the rules. we may have let those europeans off a tad too lightly im thinking.
in fact, im going to get an invoice together right now.
