RE: New sanctions may mean families unable to pay rent - Oh_hunnihunni - 15-12-2024 There is a kind of jealousy that comes when we are stressed by things in our lives we see as impossible to change, and we see Jo Bloggs nextdoor living the happy life courtesy of benefits and subsidised housing. Totally understandable, so long as you don't see the empty fridge, the run down interior, the poor health, and the boredom of it. Jo Bloggs has stresses too, but it is hard to empathise with other people when our lives are going through tough times. It helps to do the gratitude thing, to recognise our own privileges, and be grateful for small joys. Better for our own health too, after all - stress kills. Although perhaps being able to do so is something some of us can only do as we grow older, just as it can be difficult to understand the different stages of life until we live through them. |
