Chilly this morning, but being light herself was eager to get out and about, very annoying when all I wanted to do was stay warm and cosy for a few more hours! Her back leg is still a bit strange, the nerve damage is still there but she is learning to cope and work around it. I notice though she leaves it at odd angles at times, but, so long as it isn't hurting her any more I guess we will just wait and see. These things can take months to heal, if they do eventually come right. Meantime she can still deal to her toys at 2am.

Hence my need for an extra hour or two at dawn...

Morning all
Sunny day

Felines have a knack of keeping their slaves  on their toes OHH.

DH gone off to groom DD dog and do some gardening at their house I need to do vacuuming while waiting  for woolly  wash to finish.

Too tired to write report yesterday so need to do that this morning then the day is all mine. Found a cot quilt that needs to be sandwiched and quilted so might get on with that.

Enjoy your day

Oh what a day this turned out to be! Lovely day in the village, library bag loaded, lovely paper purchased at our bespoke stationers, nice coffee, then two half priced white potato vines at the local Hammer Hardware, and glorious daffodils at the fruit shop PLUS two sparrow grass bunches for $6. Sold. Budget pleasantly blown, lol.

Life is good...

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 25-09-2024

Its been a Beautiful day.

My friend who owns the Nursery here decided she was having a Mental health Day. And donnated a heap of Gerbera flowers to the chemist, one per customer.

It certainly picked me up. I text her and told her I was going to pay it forward at the rest home, but sadly I broke the stem. I was going to give it to Colleen and then ask her to share it on after a couple of hours.. So I wore it in my hair instead. So everyone saw it.

Its getting chilly now, the winter cardy is back on.

Colleens surgery went well, they did a skin graft from her thigh. Which was a little painful this morning but she still came to the painting.

Annie was Beside herself today, she is going to the Auckland Town Hall for The Tribute to the Eagles Show.. Last time she was there was 1964, seeing the Beatles.. I said that was before I was born lol

I feel Happy today

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 26-09-2024

morning ladies Smile A tad overcast, fingers crossed it stays fine for a bit more.

It doesn't take much to put a smile on our dials, does it, OHH Smile A sunny day, good books, perfect.

What a lovely thing to do, popeye. Gerberas as such cheerful flowers Smile

Madam Alfred has been moved, she's sulking but will be ok. And one of my groundcovers with a very pretty lemon coloured flower has bits I can pot up for my sister-in-law today. The convolvulus is back, at least it's not as bad as it was when we first moved in. Hopefully I can spend a bit more time weeding this morning. The garden's my happy place, even if it is weeding.

If the weather turns to rubbish, I'll work a bit more on the dragon.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 26-09-2024

Morning everyone

Sunny but cool this morning.

Bloods and shopping for me today. Then Ill come home and paint.

Need to take the step ladder out of the car as well as the wood pellets I got yesterday. But I suspect they will go for a ride first lol.

Had fun shopping over the phone and internet with my friend last night. She orders diamond paintings through my eyes. Got it so right last time that she is eagerly awaiting the next lot. One she wanted is iris's which are in a lead window type form. Its so pretty, she told me to order two, one for me..

It will be the last order for the year, I dont like dealing with missing overseas parcels with Christmas Mail.

Im actually even more decided in not moving to Taranaki, I will end up doing far more for her. I dont mind doing this shopping but I dont want to be anyone's carer again.

Forgot to bring Colleens cushion home. They washed it and the cover is torn. So Ive written a note to grab it tomorrow lol.

Have a fab day everyone

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 27-09-2024

morning ladies Smile It's freezing and raining. Gotta love the unpredictability of spring!

Not much planned for the day, housework and then maybe more done on the jacket. Grandson's birthday is just after his stay with us so it would be great if he could take it home with him. There will be a quick trip into town this morning to have some printing done for MrK and I might pop into the haberdashery shop and see what fabric they have to back the jacket when it's finished.

We (using the 'royal' we here Tongue ) use our step ladder quite a bit, a very handy thing to have. Ours has a bit at the top where you can put things, I use it to support my knees when on the top rung.

Yesterday we did another scrap metal 'run' to Hamilton. Was worth the effort as MrK had found a box of brass stuff in the pump shed and that is worth $$$.

MrK's drill press has died. He bought it for our business 35 years ago second hand so estimates it is roughly 50 years old. Not too shabby! He needs another one so will be looking and saving for one as his Christmas pressie. He's quite happy to have another second hand one and hopes that will 'see him out' to quote him.

Better get cracking and face the day.

Happy crafting Smile

Morning all
Windy coolish

Still tucked up just finished my book need to get another. Have a few e and audio books on reserve will have to find something in interim.

Hope you find drill press for MrK KM his old one certainly  doesn't owe  him anything.

Not much planned trip across town to pick up some thread, drop of k9 euthanasia cert to council it will be interesting to see how long this refund takes. Could do it all on line but this CC no acknowledgement and it disappears into the ether unlike Wgtn email straight back with time line much better communication.

Will sandwich up quilt might even start quilting this afternoon.

Enjoy your day

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 27-09-2024

Morning everyone

Wet here, and not cold. Back to the summer dressing gown lol.

I sometimes wish we had kept MrP's drill press. So handy with hole saw cutting out too. The oldies will always outlast the new modern ones.

Off to see the ladies today and grab the cushion so I can mend it. The home sends their washing out and take no responsibility for damage done by the company that does it. Their clothes are not looked after. Colleen does all her own underwear and I dont blame her, I would too.

Wasn't happy yesterday really. Checked out rentals in several places and they aren't much different to here. But Winz help is different in different areas. And soo many places with stairs, which is near the top of my list of cant haves. Top is Pets, stairs, a garage and a decent kitchen. The number of modern ones that only have a hob and microwave, no ovens is massive. Obviously you are meant to be rich enough to eat out and not bake. So I guess Im stuck here.

My light pad died yesterday.. Quickly changed the lamp around to carry on. Thats the third. they have very poor sockets for the lead. Going to take Dianne's picture up to her today.

Have a fab day everyone

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 27-09-2024

Good morning.

It's overcast and windy ... looking like rain before too long.

Councils sure do differ,  as you're finding Mica. It sounds as if you have a great vet though ... a nice touch with the flowers.  We missed our rural vets that we had a better rapport with,  maybe because we were with them for so many years.

I need a few more food items and then will catch up with baking. Grandson here tomorrow plus coffee out with visiting SIL.

Mr K likes to have his tools around him as does Mr R ...  necessary for them to be in their happy place  Smile

Time to move.

Enjoy the day all.

Housework done Big Grin Didn't need much but nice to have it done for another week.

Yep, roma, MrK likes to have his tools and 'stuff' around him. It's amazing the stuff he does have. Some of it was his dads Heart

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 27-09-2024

I'm feeling very pleased with myself. A couple of weeks ago it was youngest great grandson's first birthday & the grandsons did it again - the little toads got one each side & marched me up to have a photo taken; they know I dislike having photos taken & they that there will be consequences just as there was the last time they did this.

After a lot of searching, I finally found them a lovely mug each for Xmas....

Fairly sure I can still run faster than them.
