omg the temperature has dropped, it's freezing!

I didn't know kitty rescue places did that, what a brilliant idea.

Glad your sale went through easily, OHH. Smile

MrK is planning and building the new gate, he's the sort of person who needs 'projects' to keep him busy.

The guy who picked up my scoot was interesting. He runs horses at Hampton Downs, so doesn't need the scoot for disability reasons. He has a circle training ground and is going to use my lovely scoot with a bar across the back to tie reins to, so he can guide the pretty beasts round and round without losing any sweat himself, lol.

Clever bugger. Strong too, he lifted the heavy end onto his high wheeled shiny black ute without difficulty. I was suitably impressed...

So the scoot has retired to the country, what a life eh?

A fitting retirement, life in the country. With horses. Lucky old scoot.

Youngest grandson called in yesterday to borrow my hedge trimmer & as he was leaving, I happened to notice the proximity between the jasmine & a tall person with hege trimmer...

Ten seconds, it took him. Sigh.. Rolleyes

Always seize the day lol...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 22-11-2024

morning ladies Smile Wow, we had some wind last night. It's calm this morning though.

lol Lilith, gotta make the most of those moments! Our daughter's partner has a list of things to help me with when they come for Christmas Tongue

Housework for me today and I'll try again to do the recycling. There is something satisfying in physically crossing things off the 'to-do' list. Sometimes when I do an extra thing, I'll add it to the list just to cross it out lol. And the iris' need dividing ready to be given to my sister-in-law tomorrow. She's been eyeing them up for quite a while now. Our friend has been booked for the 3rd Dec to grind the tree trunks left over from cutting the latest big trees down. One garden will have to wait until the final fence repairs are done in January, but the other garden should then be all go with planting.

More hardanger this afternoon if I don't fall asleep on the sofa lol. It's nuts how tired I am by the afternoon.

happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 22-11-2024

Good morning everyone

Man its chilly, I have a blanket over my legs.

Yep Kiwimade I do the same thing re adding to the lists. lol

Yesterday I had an energy burst, so I moved a book shelf, smaller size, and now have my diamond stuff on there. Moved the couch along a bit. Put Missy's scratch pole beside it, to take down the hall, cos she hasn't used it at all here.

Well it seems it must have been in the wrong place before, cos she's been using it and climbing it, sitting on the top.

So Its staying where it is lol.

Im swapping the bed bases and Mattresses around tomorrow. MrP's bed isn't very old, so Im going to put it on my frame and see if my body likes it any more than mine that I dont use lol. Either way if I cant sleep on it, it can stay where it is. And Ill be back in my ancient old chair.

Off to the home today. so we will have fun.

Have a fab day all

Edit to add. When I had my heart valve replaced, the specialists said the best thing Anyone can do, fit, not fit, etc is Have a relaxing hour in the afternoon. doesn't have to be a sleep, but an hour to recharge your batteries. Works for crafty people cos we have something to make us sit and work on.

Good morning.

I've just been to the mailbox and yes that wind is cold! Sun is out though with not a cloud in the blue sky.

How terrible, 5 people have now died from methanol/alcohol poisoning in Laos. A hard lesson for other young people overseas.

Glad the Scoot sale worked out well OHH, how interesting its new role in life is!

Will get some groceries this morning and then the day is mine.

Enjoy the day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 22-11-2024

People do interesting stuff with everyday things don't they. I can imagine horses being led along by the scoot. A very clever idea!

I was driving into town this morning and a hawk flew low and close enough for me to have to brake. He was carrying a big rat in his claws... clever boy! That's one less rat. Now, if they would just help out with the rabbits...

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 22-11-2024

Apparently when he told his wife why he needed to go to Auckland urgently, she said ' Oh boy, another of your mad ideas...'

And haven't we all been there?

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 23-11-2024

morning ladies Smile The day is beginning to warm up.

lol OHH, sometimes the best ideas seem mad.

I have dug up some iris' for my sister-in-law and MrK is about to bring the car closer to the pile of bricks so we can load the car with them. We guesstimate another two car loads will have them all in Rotorua Big Grin It's taken a while lol, but we get there in the end.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-11-2024

Morning everyone

Its coolish and quite dark today. will rain for sure.

I agree some ideas just work lol.. rest home David just spent nearly $600 on a huge dog run, then builders to put it together, And that Maximus Houdini P... still managed to get out. so we are trying to come up with some way of keeping him in. The only thing we have decided is that what ever it is, it has to be on the inside. He was going to ask the builders to see what bright ideas they have.

Going to start the bed swap over today. Ill take my time.

Have a four day weekend, cos Dianne is taking mum to Specsavers on Monday. What a mission cos the useless receptionist didn't sort the transport out. $140 to go 36 kilometers. But she has to go in a wheelchair. So I can take my time.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 23-11-2024

That sounds like an extremely intelligent dog, Popeye!

I hate it when my computer decides to update itself; I always click on not now whenever i see the wretched thingy & put it off for as long as possible. But yesterday it finally refused to take no for an answer & waited until I was busy in the kitchen to do the update.

So today when I wanted to do some more painting - - I couldn't find the damned folder! NOT where it usually is, not anywhere I could find. There was quite a lot of swearing which didn't seem to make any difference oddly, & lots of stress. Then somehow, ONE painting popped up, just the one dammit but eventually I managed to track it back & open more of them - still no blardy folder thought so will collar sweetie darling no.2 next time he calls in if I haven't managed tp sort ot.

WHY can't the computer just leave things exactly where they were & NOt do an update when I'm not there. Blardy technology...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 23-11-2024

Typical computer, Lilith. I hate updates, they muck everything up and I have to reteach MrK.

Back from Rotorua with more plants from my sister-in-law's garden. Great to be able to swap plants with like minded people. Tomorrow will be a busy day finding spots to put them all into. We went and saw the new house one of mrK's other sisters and husband bought the other day. Lovely, brand new home with lots of scope for a garden and a big shed.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-11-2024

Planted 72 heritage tomato seedlings into slightly bigger punnets. About half of the strike from the seeds of three tomatoes! So I will take some punnets to the community garden, and a few more to the hospice shop, and pop them in everywhere else I can think of. Then put the new fuchsia - red and white - in a big pot with its two baby stem cuttings that should be pretty in a few months, and did another big pot with the bargain petunia punnet I scored on Wednesday when I went in just for potting mix, cough cough... Blues, and a cascading variety, so should be fun. Beastly sticky to dead head though, so all in one pot should make it easier. Did laundry and then poured a wine while I contemplate dinner fixings. I'm thinking fish burgers in a salad bun would do the trick. And be easy. I like easy. And it'll be a change from the chicken and salad I have been munching for the last three days. One of the downsides of cooking for one...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 24-11-2024

morning ladies Smile It can rain now please.

At least you are still cooking for yourself, OHH. I have family who open a packet every night. Nothing from scratch.

My sister-in-law has a 'waterfall' begonia, it's gorgeous and I have some tall pots that need filling. Am very tempted to see if I can find one or two. Plants to be planted and protected from the rabbits today and the garden watered. And I'll try again with the recycling. I forgot the transfer station is closed Fridays... duh!!

I said to MrK and his sister yesterday I'm sure our neighbours think I have nothing but gardening to do lol. But spring is a busy time of the year trying to keep the weeds down and with new plantings. And I'm a tad slower this time round.

The washing machine has told me it has finished. Will hang out the washing before planting the plants.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 24-11-2024

Morning all
Heavy  rain over night looks  like more to come

Hope all your tomato plants survive OHH I am more of an animal healer than plant . I love a good garden but plants don't like me so I am happy to let DH take on that role

Nothing  planned for this morning  have end of year xmas do this afternoon

Enjoy your day

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 24-11-2024

Good morning.

Cloudy, not sure what the weather is doing.

There will be plenty of tomatoes in your 'hood OHH. Such a useful veg ... I always have them on hand ... rationed when expensive, lol! My own are not far off now.

Our neighbourhood have just started Community Gardens on some vacant land not far from us,  with the Council chipping in. They are raised, wooden gardens .... community built beds that have all been bought ($150/year). I see that they have been building trellises lately for climbing food eg passionfruit and fruit trees to be planted.  What a great use of the land. Our son has one and already benefitting from surplus produce being shared out.

Lol KM, nothing wrong with plenty of time spent in the garden ... it might be a spur to get them going in their own!

Will take the day as it comes,  hopefully get the washing dry.

Enjoy the day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 24-11-2024

Well, all the transplants have their little heads up despite the rough handling, so today I will 'punnet' up the rest and worry about future homes for them another day. Waste not want not. But I could always make sauce - lots and lots of sauce! I do love a new experiment, and this 'fresh seed' planting was certainly a successful one, so far. I might be better at seed raising than I thought!
