RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 28-11-2024 Morning everyone Grey here it may have rained. The 3 wheelers are definitely more dangerous. Oddy the 3 wheeler motorbikes got a back record too. Shopping today, but I have to phone WINZ first. Got an email I haven't filled in a form.. Umm Yes I have and I took it to the office and an extra bit the next day. The Pillocks here are useless Especially the bulldog on the desk. So Ill have to wait for a call back from them. A bit down today. Have a good day RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 28-11-2024 Morning all Overcast start windy Hope you get WINZ sorted Popeye, inefficiency is frustrating. My morning at warehouse, made 3 mum bags yesterday and 13 more cut out. Have some cardies too knitting friend gave them to me on Tuesday really good as they are a bigger size which we always seem to run out of. I suppose small baby sizes quicker to knit. Food hunt this afternoon and babysitting DGD1 while parents out playing their sports. Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 28-11-2024 All sorted at Winz. Typical case of the right arm doesnt know what the left arm is doing. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 29-11-2024 Morning everyone Blue sky soo far. Out early this morning. The Chemist is having their give away day today. I've been there first for at least 8 years I think. so I wont break a habit. they save all the traveler's samples and put into goodie bags for today. including a $100 gift voucher. Which I've never had, Maybe today lol. But Its nice to welcome the staff to work too . Then off to see the ladies... Starting my Christmas earrings and hair scrunchies today too. Although I will give Mum one as she is the only other one in our group with long hair. Started the Middle piece of the 5 piece last night.. Im not but also looking forward to undoing the other bit I got wrong. It will be a mission but Im stubborn lol. Have a great day everyone RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 29-11-2024 My farcebook page this morning is full of Thanksgiving greetings and stories from my American friends, and it made me wonder why we have adopted Halloween with such delight, but ignored that lovely holiday. We could do worse than adopt a thanksgiving tradition, and express more gratitude for the good things we are blessed with. Along with some of those recipes! RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 29-11-2024 Morning all Overcast and bit chilly Agree OHH being thankful better than being spooked especially when good food is involved ![]() Busy day yesterday off to drop car in city soon followup to recall about reversing camera we have not experienced any problem but seems they checking all cars. Will take my tablet to read while I drink a nice flat white. Drafting this afternoon want to combine 2 possibly e patterns to get style and fit I want Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 29-11-2024 Good morning. Sunshine and very warm already. 26 degrees yesterday and expected again today! Yes OHH, Thanksgiving a much better reason for celebration. Baking this morning so something homemade on offer for afternoon visitor. I hope we can get a breeze through as yesterday, with every door and window open! Pleased to get a fast response for a (free) replacement dahlia tuber that never came to anything. Even better it's an expensive, popular one (not the one I lost). In the post minutes after I let them know ... great PR! Better get going before it gets even hotter. Enjoy the day all. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 29-11-2024 afternoon ladies ![]() Yesterday we were at Mt Maunganui and it was lovely and hot with that perfect breeze. The water was great! Enjoyed our lunch along the boardwalk and came home. This morning we have been pottering about and I sent my American friend a happy Thanksgiving text. I agree, OHH, Thanksgiving would be so much better for us all. I have to go onto town shortly and once home, the plan is to do some more hardanger. RE: You can never have enough... - Venetian1 - 29-11-2024 OHH I agree Thanksgiving would be so much better than Halloween or the even worse Black Friday. But where is the commercialism in thanksgiving? apart from turkey there’s not a lot for big business to inflict on people’s wallets ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 29-11-2024 Exactly. Better to give thanks for the blessings we have now, than the gifts to be handed to us in a months time. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 29-11-2024 Totally agree re Thanks Giving.. And we have pour Own Pilgrims to set the story too. Have had a wonderful day. I was first again. I put it down to being first when born over my twin lol. Lots of lovely samples etc. Had fun at the home despite the witches being on duty on our end today. They really are a nasty group of 4 that no one likes. Going to be there 4 days next week. plus out for a coffee or a cold one for me on Tuesday. So Madam wont be happy. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 30-11-2024 morning ladies ![]() Housework for a bit today and if I have the oomph I'll tidy up around the tree stumps that are being ground on Tuesday. Our friend needs a clear pathway to get to them and to work around them. Madam Alfred will have to be tied up and some salvias cut back. I am not looking forward to having the last of the fence repaired in January ![]() The Furry One is nagging me to 'do the rounds' with him. We walk around the garden daily early(ish) and I certainly get told if I try to miss doing it. happy crafting ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 30-11-2024 Thought I would share, the salvias and lilies are starting to flower ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 30-11-2024 Good morning. Nice, gentle rain soaking in. Probably helps that we watered last evening, lol. Salvias are a lovely plant ... the lilies are attractive too KM. My dahlias have just started flowering and happy to see the new ones as well. I shall get the newly received tuber in the ground later. One of our compost bins can be emptied to help keep the moisture in. The neighbours on the other side are now on the market, so more new neighbours likely. An inside day at this stage. Lucky I have a supply of library books if needed. Enjoy the day all. RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 30-11-2024 Morning all Sunny warmer than yesterday Pretty lilies KM Sewing buddy and good friend (neighbour from previous house) popped in yesterday she bought some show and tell. We had a lovely time. Got my frankenpattern done just need to pull some fabric to sacrifice for the toille which hopefully will be wearable House clean stuff this morning, sheets in the wash will clean bathrooms and floors while DH walking the k9 Might even bake something fan y date loaf Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 30-11-2024 Morning everyone Yaya us too Kiwimade. I can almost hear the plants sighing of relief. Means I definitely cant do the lawn so will have a spruce up in the lounge / Kitchen and then I will put my Christmas stuff out. They were doing the trees at the home yesterday and its put me in the mood.. Here's a question for you tho.. When you put your lights on your tree, do you turn them on, then put them on? Would certainly mean you can see where you are putting them. I've Never done that. I will paint later when I need a break. One of my Sister friends won the $500 gift voucher from the chemist yesterday. Sooo pleased for her. They have a new grand daughter and her older half brother so I bet most of it will go on them. Have a couple of problems with the home again. But David is going to talk to them. Yelling and screaming at a tiny little 102 year old who is also blind is Just not on. especially when its heard many rooms away. I said to him there is two words for that.. Elder Abuse. We were hoping her family would be n yesterday but they weren't. The other being that the 4 Witches were on yesterday and simply made it uncomfortable for everyone. Its like they get around their cauldron to figure out how they can p*ss us off. And two of them are the ones who yelled at Lorne. He will also remind them we need the lounge early on Friday to set up our Christmas / Birthday and point out that leaving the others at our table while we set up would be upsetting for them, when they see our goodies and are not included. There is room for them to leave our tables alone. My nearly 29 year old niece had a heart attack the other day. Family genes I guess, Was a shock to them all so hopefully it will make her siblings think a little too. Not what they need this close to Christmas. They put a stent in and she is home so very lucky by the sounds of it. HAve a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 30-11-2024 Wow popeye, where are our phones when we need a bit of recording to do... I love salvias. One of the biggest plant families in the kingdom and one for every spot no matter the climate. My blue is deeper than yours km and an utter monster, it has driven its pink sister into hiding with its exuberance, but I have cuttings, so the pink lives to find a new home. Or homes, lol. Never too many salvias. The little flag project is complete, at least the stitchery is for the moment, I am wondering about developing it, but we will see. My fingers need a rest... https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/2170980525.jpg RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 30-11-2024 Love your stitching OHH ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Venetian1 - 30-11-2024 Beautiful work OHH ![]() ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 30-11-2024 Love it Hunni. I love those 3 colours together. Always said I would have a kitchen with a black and white checked floors and red accessories everywhere. Sadly the yelling happened before we got there. They wouldn't like us recording them, but they also wouldn't be able to complain cos they have done it to us in the past. Have decorated my lounge. Several points but the coffee table under the tv and boxes feels naked. Ill have to sort something out. I've put aside some of the decorations that MrP liked and I never did. Ill try and sell them tomorrow. And I found the Kingfisher and Fantail, which is cool, I had forgotten about them. So I've put them aside to have out when Christmas is decamped. Madam is being very good. I just hope I dont come home to find to see her smothered in the tree. But I have to trust her. One broken ball, so not too bad. I Have balls for family members on the tree. so I will have to get another. That caused One tear. But I have a wooden heart hanging there for now. MrP didn't make it but it suits him so Ill see if I change it. Been a lovely day. Plenty of rain. But its nice to have everything looking nice. Even hand washed the dishes for a change. Have started a basket for Friday with Linen, crockery and some wee gift things I had forgotten I brought. Just need to find one set of lights, which MrP had at the home. And the Tree for the front door. Cant believe I cant find it. So that's my mission for tomorrow. And I remembered Colleen mentioned Cheese scones, so I will make some on Monday Morning before I go up. She hasn't had any for a long time. So ill spoil her and everyone else. I said Warning tho, I like Cayenne pepper in mine She said Thats fine with her lol. |
