They're bombing weapons supplies etc of the ousted regime to prevent abandoned weapons, machinery falling into unknown possible enemy hands.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 12-12-2024

Still no excuse, zqwerty. Give the Syrians a decent chance to have the country they want. All these other countries sniffing around, like the USA, Israel, Lebanon, Iran and the like are only after what they can get out of it. All these offers to help are not being done out of the goodness of their hearts. There's money to be made and they know it. As for Netanyahu, he's facing the Haig for corruption charges bought before the war. There are arrest warrants out for him and the Haz Ballah (sp) leader. Why not arrest at least Netanyahu while they have him. It infuriates me so many people have suffered regardless of who started it. There will be one very angry generation of children who grow into adults with missing limbs, mental health issues and the like. There will be retribution further down the years.

RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 12-12-2024

The Palestinians (Muslims/Arabs) and the Israeli's are equally to blame for the debacle in the middle east, it's been going for centuries and because of who they are as groups of people and their attitudes can never be solved.

I've covered all the in and outs on this site before. As it is, as a participant you have to make sure you are the winner no matter what tactics you use or else the other side will do the same to you. There is no peaceful solution as we have seen and will keep on seeing.

In the local events at any given time there are only winning or losing tactics you as one of the participants have to be the most ruthless and quickest to do whatever is necessary to win each battle, or else your opponents will do the same to you.

These people have been at each others throats for centuries and there is no solution because neither of them will change.

They are Old Testament Cultures. (an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth) They are living out life without the word of Jesus Christ. (turn the other cheek) They are beyond help, content to fight on till the end of time.

What I'd like to see is Netanyahu (& all members of his govt who were in favour of what he's been doing) & all leaders of Hammas standing trial at the Hague for war crimes.

And allow the peace groups made up of both Israelis & Palestinians to set about organising peace.

They could hardly do worse.

And back the hell off & give poor Syria a chance to sort things out there.

Well then, that's the world sorted out...must be lunchtime.. Big Grin Big Grin Rolleyes

Listen to this Lilith7, try to follow the lyrics as the song is playing.

This is the feeling of the Middle East, trust girted artistes, they are able to transport you to a time and place.

So they say. I say it's terrorism. Intergenerational trauma making victimes into monsters.

And the allies who got together to solve the Jewish problem by creating a homeland smack bang in the lands of an already established population have no responsibility for the results? Other than to profit from the arms industry profits, and internal financial investment their economies rely on.

Wars are not inevitable. They are prosecuted because someone benefits. They stop when the costs come back to bite those prosecuting them. And that is never the ordinary citizens. Never the women and children, the seniors. Never the doctors and aid workers and journos. Not even the soldiers. And thanks to the science of epigenetics we now know how these scars travel down the generations and pollute the lives of the future yet unborn children. Sins of the fathers, to carry on that bliblical reference.

But still we stand by and let the monsters pursue their agendas. Madness indeed.

RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 12-12-2024

The whole of the MIddle East is a can of worms, problems that can never be solved.

I thought that the regime that has just been deposed were Syrians anyway, they were persecuting Syrians.

Yep just checked:

Bashar al-Assad is a Syrian politician and military officer who served as the 19th president of Syria from 2000 until his government was overthrown in 2024. As president, Assad was the commander-in-chief of the Syrian Armed Forces and the secretary-general of the Central Command of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party

The Israeli's just making sure that there is less fire power around rather than more LOL.

And once again, the idocy of our species is confirmed. Exactly as it was for Kiwis in WW1 & WW2, going off to have an adventure with their mates & see the world. They wouldn't be killed, maybe a scratch or two but not killed. Not them.

The arms manufacturers do quite well out of wars. And the undertakers. And the uniform makers, the equipment makers, every last little thing needed in order for some to go & kill others.
And we'll hear what heroes they are, be told how brave they were, saving each other.

But then sometimes, we hear other things too. I remember very well hearing about My Lai, in Vietnam. For some reason that one stayed with me, & that little girl running down the road after being burned with napalm.

Other things too though; the football game during WW1 between German & English troops. The 'high command' were none too keen on that because they thought it might undermine fighting spirit"...fair enough, most of us can understand how you might not be all that keen to kill people you'd just played footy with.

We are indeed idiots...

RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 12-12-2024

I know you and many others are saying that war is some sort of outside conspiracy or type of behaviour induced by malign forces without the participants best interests at heart but I am saying that this urge, instinct, extant behaviour is just built into some groups by programming over long periods of time and is part of their psyche which they indulge in at will.

You can't stop the warring because it is part of their whole being which has become intrinsic over time.

Then that is what must change.

Thanks to the Dunedin study, & others,we know now that what happens during childhood can affect out entire lives, perhaps in another century or so we might actually try to address that..

There were peace groups at one time, & they usually did peaceful protests against nuclear arms. Sit down protests & they'd refuse to move so that police had to drag/carry them away.

RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 12-12-2024

Further to the Israel bombing Syria etc, I forgot about the Golan Heights which is territory that Israel annexed off Syria in whatever war it was, 7 Day War, can't remember, but that is an important territorial gain which Israel will want to make sure is not in jeopardy because of recent event.

Codswallop. With respect...

If that were true this country would not be one of the most desired immigration targets on the planet.

Happy news... lol

David phoned from Colleens room. they wanted me at the family / rest home wide Christmas dinner.. They spoke to the boss and Im going. Davids, Cam is footing the bill..

I explained I was busy with the garage sale prep etc., they pointed out I am Family and this way they know I Will stop for lunch. They know me well lol.

So I've done a bit more in the garage. Will get up earlyish in the morning and get the car out, and put the tables up then I can lay the stuff out later.

I suspect Colleen told David she thought I should be there. She considers me as a Daughter too. So they were going to redo the table layout to fit me in.

Ill go up slightly earlier in hope of getting a carpark. Handy having my parking permit.

Passed the House inspection. I do feel bad at lying to Eden, but I have to stick to it now. Ill tell them when I leave.

Also found out Maureen's house is up for Auction on the 19th if not sold prior. Hope we get a nice family that fits in.

Will Not be Parking on the front lawn now that we have had rain. I dont want to get stuck like my friend did a couple of years ago lol.. hence not having it out tonight.. one night is enough.

well done Furry one.. you will need to run more to slim back down again lol

Good morning everyone

Wet here and quite warm .

Up early to do some of the garage stuff before I go out to lunch.

Topic on breakfast this morning. Are Prize giving's bad for kids. Me I dont think disappointment is bad for you. Otherwise reward everyone and they will hit the real world where there are disappointment's and they wont know how to cope. Namby Pamby parenting.

Having doubts about the garage sale, but I usually do.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 13-12-2024

morning ladies Smile Another damp day today, no complaints though.

I've seen those video clips, Jan but worth another look. Just fantastic. These kids are so lucky to have teachers with the skills to teach them and parents to encourage them. So many kids miss out. And it beggars belief that the arts are being pushed to the background in education.

MrK's tummy bug has been passed onto me... oh yay. Spent last evening vomiting as well as the other end. Sigh.. my abdominal muscles are so sore this morning. It will be a cruisey day today I think.

The Furry Feinds are breeding, well, like rabbits. We have a whanau of five on the lawn, mum, dad and three kids. And lol, OHH, yep, hare is tastier. We've spotted a couple of them across the road as well. No wonder the hawks are breeding around here, there's a consistent food supply.

We were watching the baby hawks practicing their flying the other day. So cute and so wobbly lol.

Happy crafting Smile

Good morning.

Nice and sunny with a breeze.

Yes, that school puts on a fabulous musical performance ... lucky school.

Oh no KM, tummy bug time of year! Not good to be suffering on Christmas day ... as it can happen! Take it easy today. The furry one is going to be well fed for the foreseeable future, lol.

Nice to see everything freshened up after the rain.  Picking sweet 100's and finished the beetroot. A good lot of rhubarb in the freezer. I'm not planting new seedlings seeing we'll be away. The compost bin contents have added a nice layer ... it hasn't taken the birds long to discover though!

A catch up day today.

Enjoy the day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 13-12-2024

Yes KM, remembering my darling turning up after a road trip with his hand behind his back and a certain half gleeful half shamed grin on his face always makes me smile. He could never resist following a hare if one crossed before him, be it road kill or .22. Hare in red wine was his second favourite dish, his favourite - and mine - was a slow roasted pheasant. I am not convinced though it was all about the taste, he relished the feathers to add to his fly tying stash.

We have some village excitement starting today. A rather lovely young man in hi vis gear banged on my door yesterday afternoon to organise a clear space for a big bin, he is about to start gutting the fire damaged unit, which is great news. Aside from the fact that desolation is an unpleasant reminder of a tragedy it means we will be getting a new neighbour, and someone desperately in need will be getting a safe haven. Then, as these things go, hard on those heels we have another elderly tenant who has a space coming up with the Little Sisters of the Poor, whose rest home is a very desirable target for the local aging Catholic congregation. Apparently, it is several steps above the other offerings - blessed by past Bishops lol. So, two spaces to be filled, hopefully with folk who are happy to live in a village setting - we seem just lately to have gained rather too many of the hermit variety. A village needs community minded people. And a couple more gardening souls would really help share the load, lol. I shall put in my order when I see the community manager, if and when.

Meanwhile, the lovely young man in hi vis has given us permission to toss a few unwanted items in his bin, so I am hoping my hoarder neighbour gets a little enthusiastic about the opportunity. We shall see! Things happening in this quiet place always makes life more interesting...
