KM love the colour of the sunflower. Will you collect the seeds for next year?

Thinking I might make a family fav recipe book over next year  so that the recipes are not lost in what is my messy recipe folder.

DGD1 coming over later this morning she wants to go swimming

Hope to get to puttle in sewing cave this afternoon Frankensteining a dress pattern

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone

Rain isnt far, its getting dark .

Beautiful Sunflower KM love the colour.

I had a nice surprise yesterday. David came around. To bring the card for Annies birthday tomorrow. But he also brought me a bunch of flowers, Yellow sunflowers, Lillies and alstroemerias (sp), and some Lemon treats which I haven't tried yet. And hugs.. He seems to know when I need a hug, but I also think its the same for him. Cam cant hug. And Hugs make the world a better place. His Excuse.. cos he can... he doesnt know I came in and cried, cos I used to do the same for others lol.
He confuses me at times. But I just have to go with the flow..

One good thing tho he asked me on Friday if he could take me to see Bobbie. He knows I struggled last time, and chickened out when I was up that way. I said yes of course.

I sent him a text last night. He's going to Cams parents on Christmas Day. And he asked what he could bring, of course they said dont worry. But I offered to make him some shortbread. Cant remember if he was going out, but I haven't heard from him. I can bake on Tuesday if he wants it. I know Cams brother loves home baking.

I discovered I had not measured Annies picture correctly, God knows how I did that. So not only did I have to glue the picture to the canvas but I've had to do extra painting. And I like things perfect. I got a little white paint on the black diamonds so today Ill run a little black paint, if I have some, over the few diamonds that got white on them. But otherwise Im pleased with it.

Apparently Annies son is taking her out tomorrow ( her Birthday), which is wonderful, but we may be eating some of her cake for her and leaving the rest lol.

About 2/3rds of the way through the Painting Im doing. I have no idea what the flowers are, but Im calling them Lilacs. there's 5-6 different mauves in the flowers and the vase.

Have a fab day everyone

Lovely sunflower, KM.

What a lovely surprise Popeye, that was a kind thought on his part.

Managed a bit outside yesterday & got some of the dreaded ivy cut back & later a bit more on paintings, quite hot here & supposed to get hotter so might not get much done outside.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 22-12-2024

Carrot cake made, and heaps of shortbread.

David can take some on Wednesday and Im sure the girls will happily have some. He just text actually and Annie is going out in the morning but will be home near lunch time to we can do her cake and present I made.

Its a beautiful day today with a good breeze blowing through the house.

Max Dear Max is in disgrace AGAIN lol.. David woke up to one shredded pillow. The cover is fine, but the stuffing was everywhere. He even posed for photos, the toad lol.. I think he is an extremely clever dog who just doesn't like to be bored. Or he is used to having to be naughty to get attention.

Time to do my games then I can paint.

morning ladies Smile Rain and sunshine, we need more sunshine and not much wind so the tent can go up.

The flowers sound lovely, popeye Smile I hope your visit to Bobby goes well and isn't too upsetting.

Yesterday we had a family BBQ in Tauranga, everyone brings food and we catch up on all the family news. MrK's niece graduated with a double degree, law and environmental studies. She wants to combine them to help with the climate change fight. We need this generation to help with the fight.

Our son phoned from Perth, it hit 40 degrees there yesterday. He was checking in as he does and to thank us for his Christmas pressie. The Whitakers was much appreciated lol.

Daughter and her family arrive today with their tent Big Grin It's going to be a hectic few days Heart The Furry One will be very happy to see them as MrK has some timber for them to take back with them. The Furry One chases the Furry Feinds into the stockpile and can't get to them. I'm hoping they will come across the expensive dog tag the Furry One wore for half a day before loosing it in the timber stack.

The pav is made and omg it looks good. I'll pop it into the cake carrier for now for easy storage.

happy crafting Smile

Morning everyone

Wet Wet Wet, Love how everything looks green and fresh tho.

Ive enjoyed the busyish weekend. But will also enjoy a down day today.

Thank goodness I can pack the car in the dry. And that I have some good big Hospital Patient Property Plastic bags. Ill be able to get everything in dry.

I tried my hardest to Keep Christmas away from Annies Birthday, but sadly didn't have any birthday paper to wrap the painting.. So I've decided the Ho ho Ho paper is actually going to be the Oh Oh Oh paper lol... With some luck we will meet her son today. Years of hearing about him but we will finally meet him today.
It will be interesting to see if any of us get a chance to have talk to him about learning how to say no to his Mother. Which is mean, but she sure knows how to get what she wants. And considering there are actually 3 kids he shouldn't be the one constantly paying for her.

I hope they weren't planning on eating outside anywhere today. David is bring some asparagus rolls, Ive got the cake and some shortbread.

Ill have to leave my flowers in the pantry while gone. Madam does like flowers. I bring her in fresh puha several times a week. but I think she likes the different taste of the flowers.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-12-2024

Spoilt again today.

Gayle was getting me a bottle of Jovan Musk since she was in Pukekohe.

I went up today to pick up my baking containers and to pay for the perfume.. Except I wasn't allowed to pay for it and she got me two bottles..

So I will smell pretty for ages and ages.

Had a lovely time with Annie. Of course we didn't get to meet Micheal. I didn't think we would. But she loved her cake and her Diamond painting I did for her. She said It has Butterflies, I said that's why I did it for you, she loves Butterflies.

Im popping in Briefly on Christmas day.

Lesson learnt to my "betrothed" He let it slip that Colleens daughter from Wellington arrived Yesterday. but She hadnt seen her.. Im figuring the most damage Colleen did was to Leah, and the one from Whangarei that visited yesterday. Or they would have met up.

Was neat to see soo many visitors today.. Santa or rather Rudolph delivered their presents. Was one of the ladies who takes her dog Shanti in. Who was wearing a Tutu and her antlers too lol.

I Have oodles of Cramp going free if anyone wants any.. Hasn't been this bad for ages. Wish we could still get Quinine. Fridge cold hot water bottles and magnesium barely cuts the mustard.

Frig knows what they put on Pepsi Max these days but I am apparently " Not your typical Weiving Gridow" lol...

Merry Christmas!

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 24-12-2024

Good morning from the lower South Island.

Busy times for us with a lot of travel time under our belts plus exploring as we go. Now even busier being amongst family.

The weather has been a mix of drizzle and fine periods, fortunately allowing for time outdoors especially with the younger family members.

Merry Christmas for tomorrow to everyone wherever you are and however you celebrate.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-12-2024

Morning everyone

Calm here too. Neighbours out doing their lawns.

Walking like a woman of 190. I Hate cramp.

But I have no intention of letting it win.

Once the dishwasher is loaded Im going to bring a bookcase MrP made umm 15+ years ago. Cut some timber to extend the width and sit the tv on it. Ill drape it with one of my many pretty table cloths. Haven't decided if Ill put the super heavy coffee table back in its original place in the middle of the lounge or put it away for a while.

Must get the jam roll out for the trifles later. Still thinking about a pav. But I might leave it till Thursday then I can take it up to the home on Friday. I cannot eat one by myself before I get sick of it so they will help me with it lol..

I tried the JonJon Lemon Burst Tarts last night. They aren't biscuits its lemon curd, tart but sweet encased in s crisp sweet pastry. And such a delight... And Gluten free as a bonus for those who need it. The description is perfect. MrP wasn't a fan of lemon things, but these are soooo good. And refreshing.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.. Ill be here lol.. Im going up to the home in the morning, just for a wee while.

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 24-12-2024

Managed to do two batches of cream puffs done yesterday & they turned out really well. It's become a xmas tradition because according eldest granddaughter 'it isn't Xmas until gran makes cream puffs', & I was going to do two more but according to eldest grsnddaughter ( she who is Good At Organising) one more will be enough. So I'll take her word for it & do only one more, then I just need to do icing & fill with cream.

Some of them are coming over this evening to pick up their Xmas loot which makes it less for me to have to take with me tomorrow.
Making some slow progress with moon calendar paintings but will have more time after xmas.

Went around to do dreaded groceries this morning - - just after 9am & the mall had quite a few there already & there was just the one trolley left so grabbed it & did shopping as fast as possible. Everyone had obviously had the same idea I'd had of getting in early befor e the rush.Yay.

Hope everyone has a truly excellent Xmas. Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-12-2024

Ohh silly me.

I forgot our new World stays closed on boxing day too.. For the staff.. So off I trundle at 2pmish.. Full but flowing. Had everything I needed, but the chocolates were going fast.. I didn't need any Yay.. lol

Trifles made as far as needing cream.. Steamed pudding on for breakfast, I've really gone off wheetbix.

Emptied and moved the bookcase, added two pieces of drawer fronts that we got ages ago. TV and boxes set on top. I really like it how it is. Coffee table back where it should be, with the huge vase of Balls on it.

Dishes done. Old deep fryer emptied and cleaned, hate that job. Tea ready to cook. With lashings of custard left over for dessert.. Did think that it would be nice over the lemon tarts.. but who knows lol.

Been a productive day, Spine screaming so have taken a pill.. Legs should be tired enough to not cramp up lol..

And even better is I FEEL GREAT.. Happy, positive. and so long as I get through the next year I should hopefully be better off.

And oops the med lab isnt open again Until Jan 6th.. Ill only go to the Pukekohe one if I happen to be over there.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 25-12-2024

Was lovely at the home today.

Staff were upbeat, sooo many strangers, as in visitors that we dont usually see. right down to a 4th generation 1 month old Great grand daughter.

Had an invite to Colleens daughters but I declined, cos Colleen would have been back at the home and I would have only known one daughter.

Came home and vacuumed then cleared the drawer stand beside me and re-organised it.

Part of my present from my Taranaki Sister friend was two gift cards so Im going to brave the boxing day sales. Cos I might as well stretch the money further. one from the warehouse, the other from Number1 shoes. and great timing cos I went to put my new crocks on and they dont fit. I have to take the straps off if I can.

Trifle was Ohhh sooo good. but Im full too. Didnt have lunch and Im pleased. id have never eaten the trifle if I had.
