Ohh I love the house, but its not a house its a HOME.. it was built in 1893. It has gently polished floors. Two huge bedrooms, two smaller rooms and a small cosy lounge.

A good size kitchen with heaps of bench space to bake in and the laundry and bathroom at the back.

Theres grapes, Lemon, grapefruit, peaches, plum and apple trees.. Take that David.. I wont need yours lol.

Dianne came with me. And it has the feel of a home. There's hooks, and shelves in all the right places. Plenty of locks. A peephole..

No dishwasher, ensuite or dishwasher and Ive learnt they really dont care. Lol.

I dont have to worry about the huge lawns. They are included.  It has a nice front porch with the coloured windows and some with butterflies on the end. And a raisable wrack for washing.

I will need to get a chair for out the front BUT I have an old timber rocking chair that MrP repainted for me.. It currently houses my Peggy square blanket and toys. It could go out there. And Ill have my little piano stool out there for parcels so it will work for my drinks.

I like the separate lounge. It even has  a wee built in desk that will hold the tv most likely.

AND I phoned Winz. After everything is paid for Ill have triple the food and gas money than I do now.. That floored me.. I didn't think I would be any better off.

Wish I could twitch my nose and be there now lol.

As the crow flies its probably no more than 500 meters away from where I am now.

How I will sleep tonight I have no idea lol.. Thank goodness I have pills.

Im soo blimmin Happy.. lol
Sounds perfect popeye! A new start, a new life...

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 15-03-2025

Good morning everyone

Ohh she's a bit chilly this morning.

Not sure if it rained earlier, it could just be the ringing in my ears. Ill look shortly.

Sadly the gala at the school Im going to often gets wet. But being in the country no one cares, they just turn up in gumboots. Im looking forward to it.

I forgot to ask Dianne if the kids did their sand saucers etc which they used to do so they could be displayed in one of the rooms.

I managed to sleep. I had to take an oxy tho, Id walked and stood around a bit too much as well as the stairs.

Ill come home and kit up and start my Missy the 3rd picture.. And start packing tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day everyone

morning ladies Smile Another fine day...

Fantastic news, popeye Smile As you say, a new start.

I'll move the last of the weeds on the main road this morning and give the salvias a drink. One more small garden along the side of the garage to do and all the roadside gardens will be done and dusted or winter.

Not much else to do except maybe housework but it's going to be such a lovely day we may head out for the day.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 15-03-2025

Good morning.

Blue sky with sunshine.  It must be the right conditions out there as small planes are noisily practicing their acrobatic moves!

Only a faint sighting of the blood moon hidden behind cloud last night but it was very light overnight.

Great news for you Popeye. A new beginning for you and Missy for sure. I envy you ... all those fruit trees!

Minding a GS before long while the rest of his family at cricket and then will decide what to do with the day.

Not much in the way of new planting planned as we are away for a lot of April ... the start of the month, up north to scatter in-laws' ashes with family and last few weeks in the deep south to mind a GS while rest of family are away. I shall keep the prolific petunias going as long as possible meanwhile.

Exciting OHH as you await those bulbs and what they eventually produce.

Better go,  GS here.

Enjoy the day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 15-03-2025

Oh gosh - SAND SAUCERS! They were such a delight at primary school. Do they still do those? And now of course, I really want to make one. Only, maybe I'll do one in a water bowl seeing I have no sand, lol.

I missed the blood moon, but then I knew we would. Every time she does something interesting the Earth gets jealous and conspires with our skies to ruin it. And last night was no different, lots of clouds, not a red glow in sight. Thank heavens for farcebook and instagram and good photographers. But I shouldn't whinge, we do have some fabulous evenings at this time of year, we even get to see the odd satelite trail despite the light pollution from being such a huge city. And the sunsets can be very lovely. Be grateful for the small things woman, and the big ones - like living in the Southern Hemisphere, and not that other one!

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 15-03-2025

lol OHH, so true. We watched the partial eclipse from our living room. Our curtains are never pulled in the summer, so we had a bird's eye view without even trying. We didn't see much red but enjoyed what we did see. The stars are amazing, and I will often go to sleep looking at them at night. Winter is the best time to see them, so many and the meteorite showers just make me smile. It makes the cold days worthwhile when I know I can snuggle up in bed at night and star gaze. Another true pleasure of rural life.

The salvias haven't even battered a leaf, no wilting, nothing. Gave them a drink, cleared the rest of the weeds and that was it. They are tough plants, that's for sure. I've found a spot for your seeds, OHH Smile Now I have divided and moved the hosta (early I know), I have space for them. Next thing to do is find a home for Albertine. I have two and can use the space from one for another climber Tongue So if anyone wants Albertine, let me know Smile

It sounds brilliant, Popeye, so pleased for you. It seems to have everything you need & the extra after the food & gas is a lovely bonus. Smile

Did a bit more in the front garden & now have  a pile of weeds waiting to fit into bin; it might be waiting a while.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 15-03-2025

You will be harvesting those mirabilis seeds next Autumn km, to scatter under your windows. The evening perfume is a delight. Worth growing for just that, but the mad flowers are icing on the cake...

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 15-03-2025

Ohh it was a Good Gala day. And I was Really meant to be there.

Managed to get a park right by the gate. Yay.

They had the white elephant in the hall, school tents around the quad and then market sights on the field. Everything from WOOL nope I didn't get anything, to Crystals,, Very tempted, to guitars and Ukeleles. Food all over the place.

Into the Hall I went. There in front of me was what could have been but wasn't a tea trolley. Nice timber , on wheels. but a big split down the length.. Glue and cramps should work. And it has a drawer and drop sides. Absolutely perfect for the new kitchen. And something Di and I were talking about last night. $20 Man I grabbed it and got the lady on the exit to hold it for me while I shopped.

I found the perfect piece of fabric to patch the split on the divider in the chairs Di gave me. Only one Dessert cookbook. A dancing Christmas tree cos it worked. MrP would have loved it. But I like its twirly top and bell and red nose. And something I will be looking up some Royal Dalton crystal Coasters , boxed from Austria. And a cushion Inner that actually fills the big cushion cover I got from the oppy but was too big for the inner I had.

I spent $40 in total and I Know I did well. Bumped into Dianne and Paul and watched Nova do the Kapa haka.

And a Lady helped me get the table out to and into the car too.

Lilith I am soo pleased there is fruit trees. Ill give the feijoas away. But make use of everything else. We think the peach is a Golden Queen. There was only a couple of old rotting ones on the ground so Ill have to wait till next summer to know if they are freestone etc. Not that that will worry me lol.

Now Im going to have a nosey and see if I can find anything out about these coasters. They are Rather pretty.

I honestly am close to exploding of happiness..

Didnt look at TM. but the cheapest coasters I could find online were $25AU... they were a part of the $10 I paid for the extra stuff. So I did well alot more at $60AU and up lol

That's really excellent - have you thought of buying a Lotto ticket, while the gods are smiling?! Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 15-03-2025

Well done on the purchases, popeye! One man's trash is another's treasure.

You will love having the fruit trees. They are the first thing we plant whenever we move and boy, they pay dividends.

MrK and the Furry one have had an afternoon nap Smile so I've had a quiet afternoon sorting out my next embroidery project. I don't usually have two things on the go but have nothing to work on until I can get back to Spotlight. I've sewn some guidelines through the fabric to help keep me on track as this one is hardanger and hardanger looks awful if it is 'out' of kilter. I'm using a pattern from a booklet I bought in the 1990's and am hoping the buttery yellow thread will help update it.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 16-03-2025

morning ladies Smile The fog is clearing already.

Back out in the garden for me, love this time of the year. The lilies that were plonked in the ground after the tree fell over last year will be moved to their permanent home and the massive succulent the bees love will be divided and half planted out on the roadside by our gate. The other half can stay put.

I've started the hardanger cloth for the other spare bedroom and so far, so good. Crochet thread works well for hardanger Big Grin

Other than that, it's the same old, same old for now.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 16-03-2025

Cat woke me at 3am with a hairball issue, so that was an early start to the day. The moon was up which didn't help, boy she was beautiful out there in the cool night, so it is going to be a very slow day. Perfect though seeing I ripped down the knitted piece I had underway yesterday, and started again, so now I have a great excuse to catch up a few inches on that.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 16-03-2025

Morning everyone

Looks like it will be a warm one today.

Im having a slow start lol..

I was gob smacked at what one can cook in an air fryer last night on Jamie Olivers show. So I thought Id have a look at Briscoes.. who are Of course having a sale... They dont have one. So at least I wont be popping over today. But I just ordered one online. Down from $380 to $100.. Brabantia Brand.. $7 for delivery is cheaper than what it would have cost to go buy one anyway.

I probably wont cook chips in it, I like my chips deep fried, but it will mean my oil will last longer. I read the feedback etc and compared prices and sizes . lol

So Ill duck up to the supermarket this morning.. Missy needs a new tray and oddly Pak n Save didn't have them last time I was there.

Then Ill start packing stuff I wont use between Now and when ever I move lol. Theres not actually much to do that isn't already packed into crates and stuff.

Perhaps I should have brought a lotto ticket.

Went to get madams new litter tray and a few other things and only paid for Half the pepsi I brought home.

Thats the second time that's happened, and the checkout operator was the one who packed my bags..

Maybe the workers are finally over the boss these days.

morning ladies Smile We may even have rain today, fingers crossed!

That was lucky, popeye Smile It does make you wonder, doesn't it.

I have my mammogram booked in for this afternoon, not looking forward to it but needs must. This morning I'll plant the succulent I divided but ran out of oomph to replant. Last evening something fell off a truck and quite a few cars ran it over. It was dark so I wasn't going out there to find out what it was but will have a look shortly. If it is still on the road, it can stay there as the road is too busy to go and get it.

Happy crafting Smile
