Morning everyone

Dull and cool here..

Oh I do like the new Air New Zealand Uniforms. Very nice.

Im going to hit the cupboard Ive been avoiding today.. The Appliance / pot cupboard.. Then I pretty much just need to pack the last stuff.

The property manager here is being a witch. I guess they have to be strong. But leway works too. Im glad I wont be with them for much longer.

The covid arm is having a hissy too, started last night.. So I put some steroid cream on that one too..

Have a wonderful day everyone

Your immune system must be on high alert popeye, not a bad thing, but a bit annoying.

I undid a piece of knitting a while back and rewound the yarn onto the nearest ball to hand from that project only to discover a few days later one of my main colours had mysteriously vanished. I blamed the cat - she does love wool, and searched all her likely hiding places to no avail. Yesterday of course I picked up the ball I had rewound onto and sure enough, under the rewinding it was the missing colour.

I am definitely losing my mind. Stupid woman. Just as well the cat is very forgiving...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 11-04-2025

an adult dog would be perfect! No puppy chewing and toilet training Big Grin I hope it goes well, mica.

lol OHH, you knew it had to be somewhere. And don't worry, the cat only makes you think you are forgiven. It will exact revenge before long.

For anyone who remembers Jasper Carrott, just posted excerpts from some of his shows in the Friday Funny thread - Lollipop (the Cat) is especially hilarious.

Adult dogs are usually really good Mica, good luck.

Eldest great grndson wanted a particular book for hs birthday next month & managed to get it this morning, managed to find the Graphic Novel version but not the actual book & eventually had to ask staff for help. Of courser I'd walked right past the damned thing but never mind - got it!

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 11-04-2025

Yeah Hunni it does mean my immune system is working. A bit tender at the mo after the scrubbing workout.

I feel like Im walking around like an orangutan with my arms hanging lol...

I've done the dreaded pot cupboard. It wasn't as hard to clean as I thought it would be.

Bonus is right at the back was my plastic lid, off my very first microwave container that I use when heating things up. I hadn't seen it for ages... So Im super happy about that. I knew I wouldn't have thrown it away.

Thought I would have a look in the freezer. There are still blackberries.. That we grew in the other house 6 years ago. I can hear MrP saying they will be ok. But Im not willing on risking a lot of sugar to find out they are bad.

So the rubbish bag next week will be fruity lol

Madam starting growling at me. So Im now sitting with my feet up with her on my lap.. i love being able to have her asleep on my lap now I have one lol..

So the lappy is perched at an odd angle.

Rang the council to change the inorganic address for the chairs.. They dont pick up out of a building. not even a carport.. I said if they are at the very front of the carport they will be dry and easier for the guys to pick up. If I leave them out in the rain they could do their backs in cos they will weight even more. Took ages for her to accept that. Typical council lol.

I love hearing you all buy books for kids. Education is very high on my list. Sadly it wasn't with MrP.. one of the reasons we didnt have kids. Saved the arguments.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 11-04-2025

I have been thinking about you skipping future vaxes popeye. I don't think you should, because you are one of the vulnerable. Even with the best will in the world, you cannot avoid a stray bug forever - as I discovered with this nasty thing. Instead, why not prepare for them in advance. Get the steroid cream and have it at the ready. Schedule the jabs for when you are not moving house, or doing something else that you need to focus on, put a couple of days aside to cope with the after effects, but get them. Because the actual disease has to be worse than the after effects. Aside from anything else, if you get really crook your independence is at risk. And I really think having finally got your hands on that wonderful state of affairs, you don't need to risk that because of a temporary bit of unpleasantrness.

Me being bossy again...

Me being bossy again...

It not being bossy Hunnie... Ive been thinking the same thing.

The two times I had covid, the first one sucked,  but only cos of the anti virals, the second round was not much more than a cold.

The vaccs dont stop us getting it, but do make it easier..

Id also rather have a gall stone attack than have the flu again lol

I will tell my dr tho. That I need to be prepared.. Actually the tube of stuff she gave me is quite big.

You are right and its really nice having someone to advice me.. Advice comes from wiseness..

Update on the Aussie front.. Well I learn unfriending isn't the same as blocking on FB.. She came back. Said she wasn't happy about me texting her husband... Lol been doing it for years with her blessing. And she wasn't happy..

I said Im looking after my own happiness.  That I dont wish them any harm and hope she finds happiness herself..

But Im putting me first...

And that is Rare for me and Im enjoying it..

My twin brother said to delete her numbers on the phone. I said not yet.. I wont be using them, but if she texts me at least Ill be for warned.

You know its the right time when you can do it without anger or tears, Im at that stage.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 12-04-2025

morning ladies Smile Another gorgeous day is here. The hose may have to go on the garden though, the ground is dry as heck.

I've potted up the pots and repotted the piece of lilac my sister-in-law gave me last year. It should do well in the huge pot by the gate. And it will have a lovely fragrance to greet us and visitors as we come and go.

Yesterday I couldn't get my head around the hardanger for some reason. Kept making silly mistakes so put it aside. I'll pick away at it again this afternoon.

The Crusaders had another win last night in spite of two yellow cards. I know the game is full on but really, two yellow cards. They should know better. Still, it puts them at the top of the table above the Chiefs Big Grin And that always makes my day lol.

Washing machine has beeped, I am well trained by machines (and the Furry One) lol.

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 12-04-2025

Good morning.

Some cloud but there is blue sky. We had more rain overnight.

The school holidays have started and we have family coming up for nearly a week.
The GK's enjoy seeing how they are catching up to me in height,  one now way past, lol.

You must be loving your new lease on life KM ... aren't we lucky with modern medicine and techniques to allow independence.

I shall try and get outside to tackle weeds and past it flowers today eg petunias but first need to have baking on hand.

I have knitting on needles again ... it's feeling much more like we're heading for winter now, the time I like to knit.

Good advice OHH re vacc for those who are compromised in any way. Short term pain,  for long term gain. People aren't testing the same anymore so you never know when you might be exposed.

Exciting for you to have the possibility of another dog Mica. I sometimes visit the site of the same breed we had ... they also have adult dogs available from time to time ... tempting!

Better keep moving.

Enjoy the day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 12-04-2025

Good morning everyone

The sun is up again..

Finally in my Autumn nightie.. I decided to give it another year lol.. I got it in 1998.. I still love it as much as the day I got it. I was heading to Wellington for the CWI conference. It is of course Miles too big but thats what cooler nighties are for..
At the end of the cool I always think I should toss it.. But I dont think I ever will.. It holds good memories for me.

So pleased you are feeling heaps better Kiwimade. You never understand heart tired until you have it.. So its a good warning signal too if you start feeling that way again.

Still putting this gook on my arms.. The lumps are going down slowly. Have to do it for a week... Goodness knows what my INR will be like next week.. The Gook has soft paraffin in it which can alter your INR.

Today Im going to move stuff out of the sewing room. Im filling the two rooms closest to the garage to make it easier and faster for the Males.. I know I dont have to, but its better for my head.

Have a wonderful day everyone

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-04-2025

Today's pot of soup might just be one of the best I have ever come up with. Ham hock for stock and meat component, chunks of every veg in the garden and the house, plus a bouquet of every home grown herb, heaps of ginger and garlic and chili for warmth and a good solid grind of black pepper with the lot topped up with water to the very brim of my New World Kitchenaid stock pot. Rich, golden, and smelling divine, I don't often use that pan but it is perfect for soup, just shallow enough to be all done in four hours , but deep enough not to catch before the meat goes back in. And the flat smells heavenly, leftovers tonight, then soup and Wild Wheat's dense rye bread tomorrow, after the flavours have all had a chance to mellow.

I will have to reorganise the bottom drawer in the freezer to make room, too much glory in there for one greedy person...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 12-04-2025

Ohhh yummmm OHH, that sounds so good.

MrK has had his MRI this afternoon. Yep, they do them on Saturday. Mainly the MRIs that will take a longer time as there will be ample parking and it's quieter then. It took around an hour and a quarter. They imaged the whole of his back and right hip. Fingers crossed something can be done, he can't bend and is shuffling along.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 12-04-2025

I Love the smell and making of soup.

Used to make a lot for MrP.. Either bacon hock and veges, or His mothers very simple tomato soup, that she always turned into spaghetti. I Made some for the ladies last year at the home.

Dianne is going to take the rest and feed her dogs, they have enjoyed many different things from my freezer..

I came across some Mince of some description yesterday.. I wont give to Dianne cos I wouldn't want to make her Kuris sick.. But I offered them to David for Max, the Vaccuum cleaner, he said thank you, will probably last 2 seconds lol..

Got about 2/3rds of the sewing room moved.. Now I can see how much more needs to be done in there. And it isn't a huge amount.

Madam tells me when its time to stop. By being very vocal and getting in my way... she's right too of course.

Handy that they do MRI's on the weekend Kiwimade.. Was the traffic diabolical with it being the school holidays?

I asked the property manager a couple of days ago if I have to pay rent on the day I move out.. No answer was the stern reply.. Well she gave me a figure but I have no idea if that includes the bit Im behind on.. And she ignored my emails yesterday.
I Keep a copy of my contact so I may end up putting in a complaint. Not good if you can only half do your Job.

I will pay this week. Then stop it.. And if that's wrong then its not my fault. She hasn't answered my question, I've never professed to being a mind reader, and not about to start.

Which will also mean Ill be a week ahead with the new house if I start that the week I move in, albeit it a couple of days before the rent is due.

Robynn had better out live me, I have no intentions of moving again.. I WILL be downsizing even more... Getting rid of any older stuff that Im not using, simply cos Ill be using all my Good stuff. Mind you 8 towels are new anyway, but the wrong colour lol. First load of washing will be red towels and I cannot wait to see them blowing in the wind..

One Must get oneself a hollow easter egg too.. Before they sell out. I havent missed yet.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-04-2025

I remember a pm telling me so long as I was out by 10am no rent was payable for that day. No idea if that was right though, I always made sure I was out by the day before..

I wish I could be out earlier. But the Movers are booked up.

Cos Im moving  a lot of stuff closer to the garage it wont take long for the guys to load it up..

Ill be taking some stuff around over Easter tho.

I've warned them not to leave it too long for the inspection cos the house will be full of crockets if they do.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-04-2025

And take lots of photos, in case they argue about condition...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 13-04-2025

morning ladies Smile No wind again today, fantastic!

Yes, most definitely take pics before you leave, popeye. Inside and out.

Traffic was heavy yesterday afternoon when we went to Hamilton. I suppose people are making the most of the fine weather before winter kicks in. And making the most of using fewer annual leave days with Easter coming up.

It's back into pruning, dividing and weeding for me again this morning. There isn't much left to do so I'll also make the most of the fine days and get it done. The garden waste can sit by the incinerator until the bins have been emptied. Any without convolvulus can be composted. MrK had a great idea of using a bungy cord to keep my bucket upright in the trolley. It works a treat Smile

We should be able to get out with MrK riding the scooter now I can walk further Smile Another big plus. His scooter battery is on charge Big Grin

Happy crafting Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 13-04-2025

Morning all
Another cloudless morning

Glad MrK got his MRI done KM hopefully he gets diagnosis and resolution

Quilted yesterday wholecloth practicing big feathers I have decided that big feathers  are not really my thing smaller more compact ones yes. I have one  more corner to do then I am going to wash it before I do anymore quilting. Experimented with different markers need to see that they wash off before I invest several more quilting hours.

Don't like the no k9 in the house hopefully we will have another in 2-3 months

Need to vacuum and wash the floors today they didn't get done yesterday.  Got friends conmingnfor dinner tonight experimenting on them so let's hope it turns out another slow cooker chicken recipe with lemon meringue pie for dessert.

Enjoy your day
