RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 18-04-2025 Lol, no, even with all its flaws I am happy here. And have made it my own in a lot of ways. But a new kitchen? I can dream! I shall hit New World tomorrow, chocolate is on my shopping list. Yes, & if that lot in the beehive ever find a way to make us pay for dreams, they'll swiflty have a nation of paupers. Probably a fairly rebellious, annoyed bunch of paupers. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 19-04-2025 morning ladies ![]() ![]() I can just imagine, Lilith, instead of people saying, 'dreams are free', we will be saying, 'dreams are $10 plus GST'! If we are going to be inside again today, I might as well do some housework. The weather is too rough for us to go anywhere, MrK is slowing down quite a bit and isn't the quickest getting in and out of the car. We did buy one of those Handee things that you hook onto the car's door frame to help you leave the car and it's brilliant. It gives him that extra bit of leverage and something to lean on as he stands. We're finding all sorts of gadgets to make his life easier, amazing what is out there. More embroidery later on, I'd guess at saying I'm almost a quarter of the way. Happy crafting ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 19-04-2025 Well, I am off out early. Met service says midday looks nasty, but with luck I can get library and groceries done and home by then, if I get cracking and skip the coffee and cake bit. I need fruit and veg and the Tatt needs flea stuff. Then I can hibernate till the sun comes back... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 19-04-2025 Morning everyone. We had a doozy storm.. And now I dont have the blinds in the kitchen it was like being at the movies watching an action movie with lots of explosions. And not cold by any means. I got one of those handle thingees for MrP too Kiwimade. Very very handy.. I now have it on my side of the car. I was showing David and discovered not only does it help you get out of the car, but I knew you could cut the seatbelt with it, smash the window of course but it Has a torch on it , which I didn't know. There was actually a funny on FB yesterday, saying someone had one and he kept it in the boot of the car.. Thats a male for ya lol.. buy it cos you think you need it, but you wont need it so keep it in the boot lol The zip broke in my bag yesterday.. so last night I decided along with getting a mat for the kitchen I'd shout myself a new bag for my birthday. Hope it is as nice as it looked online. Got a mat, some 89 cent earrings.. and a "Fancy Pants" rolling pin.. Thats what a lady in a baking group called hers and it fits.. It looks like a weight lifting bar, and you have silicon discs you put on the ends. Which means what ever you are rolling will all be the same thickness. I love my marble rolling pin but having the same thickness means things will all be the same colour. Have to pop up the road for my drink and TV guide that I forgot.. Then Ill move what I can from my bedroom without upsetting Missy too much. Ill rest for the rest of the day.. Then hit the Garage tomorrow. There's not too much to do in there thank goodness.. Nearly there.. Have a lovely day everyone RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 19-04-2025 Morning all Nice day here expecting 25 degrees Hope everyonecup north keeps dry. Just got back from dropping DD and her family at the airport they off to west coast of Australia. DH doing the ironing while he watches golf - works for me he does the ironing he made the mistake when we were newly married of telling me I didn't iron his trousers correctly. Being a woman of 70s ![]() DH plans on doing gardening for DD today I will get some more quilting done. Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 19-04-2025 lmao that will learn him, mica! ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 19-04-2025 Oh I love that mica! I was running late and ironing a shirt for work a long long time ago and ironed my tummy as my dh watched, and from then on he did the ironing too! I couldn't be trusted with burny things it seems... Some men are just so wonderfully useful, bless them. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 19-04-2025 Out early-ish as Whitcoulls had a special on, buy one book & get 50% off a second, so managed to get two more books in the Wings of fire series, which makes three so far for eldest great grandson. Probably one for his birthday, a second on his brother's birthday ( the unbirthday present) & probably the third at Xmas. They're aimed at the 8-12 age group, & he'll be 8 next birthday, so is doing quite well with reading & reading should be encouraged imo. Odd sort of day; still overcast but a good bit warmer so hung out the washing - what an exciting life! With luck will be doing a bit more painting this afternoon, went slightly mad yesterday & did a pastel drawing & then did a painting in photoshop of very similar scene. Did an early walk with Madame le Dog & didn't see a soul the whole way, must all be having a sleep in, lucky sods. RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 19-04-2025 Lilith7, did you learn how to use Photoshop at ePlus in Moorehouse Av? If so, so did I. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 19-04-2025 Emergency warning for us via the phones for an incoming thunderstorm. I am so glad I am home and safe! RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 19-04-2025 Its been unbearably hot today. Thankfully there was a summer dress left in the basket of clothes I left on the bed. And I have the fan on again. Its been hosing straight down, no wind. Had a rotten headache most of the day.. Just heard from my new landlord , her Darling nephew managed to get 3 of the tv aerials working.. Yayay,, so I can cancel the sky tech coming.. and then ditch paying $18 a month for the free channels.. Something Ive always wanted to do is buy tickets in the Heart Foundation House raffles each month. So Im going to do that with the money instead. I know several people that have had their help and being a heart [person myself it will make my heart happy too. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 19-04-2025 (19-04-2025, 01:07 PM)zqwerty Wrote: Lilith7, did you learn how to use Photoshop at ePlus in Moorehouse Av? If so, so did I. ePlus doesn't ring any bells; I learnt at one of those free courses govt used to provide, run by the Sallies. I did a graphic design course & because I had my name down to do the computer graphics course, & they were going to lose their govt funding if they couldn't get enough students, they started working their way down their list - luckily for me the ones ahead of me on the list had all got jobs or were doing study elsewhere so I was able to do it. And also very luckily for me I'd been doing voluntary work at an office for a charity where there wasn't that much work so as they had one of those little tinpot applications on their computer - Paint, of Paintbox or something, I played about with it & taught myself to paint in it so that when i did the Sallies course I was able to muck about a bit while the tutor was flat out helping the other students do their portfolios; he showed me the basics & I just carried on with help from him when I needed it. All of which was ages ago, can't remember exactly when but ages. The more recent photoshops are brilliant, had a look online & saw some work - really stunning, & way ahead of anything I can manage, but I'm happy just playing about & if I'm lucky Creative cronies take a painting for a Moon calendar diary or calendar. I'm not much use with actual photos in photoshop though since I've forgotten most of what we were taught about them. Do you mainly use photographic images or do you paint with photoshop? RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 19-04-2025 The Great British Sewing Bee is back next weekend YAYAYAYAY. And Call the Midwife straight after lol... So Now Im in trouble cos my Ghostie shows are on at the same time RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 19-04-2025 Yes Lilith7 that was the place in the old railway building, ePlus, part of the Salvation Army. Was your tutors name Steve? I hardly ever use it but sometimes alter photos or pictures. Did you learn Macromedia Freehand as well as part of the course? Mostly I use this program to alter resolution and sizes plus simple operations as it is easier to use than Photoshop. https://www.irfanview.com/ You have to decide which version you want 32 or 64 bit, 32 bit will be fine and also you will need the Plugins. All for free and works really well no ride along virus or any other drawbacks, I, and many others have used it for years. Can't remember his surname but think he went to Oz when next govt stopped all of those courses, bastards - they were so useful for so many people. Vaguely remember learning another one, Publisher at some point but that was more using images & text rather than making images but don't think I did Freehand - mind you the memory isn't what it was! It was ages ago, possibly the 80's I think not sure now. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 20-04-2025 morning ladies ![]() Still not a lot planned for the day, didn't do any housework yesterday so may do it today.
