RE: You can never have enough... - Olive - 07-05-2025 (07-05-2025, 11:44 AM)kiwimade64 Wrote: morning ladies Oh KM, how stressful for you both. Do try to have a nap - 90 minutes is the ideal because it gives you time to go through a full sleep cycle. We'll all be thinking of you. RE: You can never have enough... - Praktica - 07-05-2025 I'm sitting here, listening to the sound of a concrete cutter, in my bathroom. Yesterday, I found a warm patch in the floor - a leaking hot water pipe. The plumber has removed the vanity, and they're making a hole in the floor, to find the leak. Once it's fixed, we have to get the floor repaired, and probably new vinyl. Ho hum... RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 07-05-2025 I reckon we were esping km, and that's why my dreams were so strange. I hope your day has settled a little now and Mr K is in safe hands. And then Praktica - reminds me of an occasion in Taupo, where the pipes were enbedded in the concrete floor - wonderful warm toes in winter but expensive when a fix was necessary. My day improved massively with a run into the village on the repaired machine, so good to just go with no need to keep fingers crossed lol. And the new refurbed phone was delivered, pretty good service, thanks Reebelo, now I just need to find my contacts list, it is here somewhere... I took the dead one down to my local barista/tech wiz to check it was indeed dead, and am comforted by his expert opinion. It has been an expensive week for all of us! Did have fun at the supermarket though, got shoulder tapped by a guy whose Mum has just lost her car licence at 85 and wanted advice on mobility scooters. During the conversation I said it was a bit of a comedown from a 600cc road bike whereupon he opened his phone and showed me what he called his 'garage porn'. Thirty five Honda motorbikes of various vintages! The scoot introduces me to so e really interesting people on occasion... Now if I can just get this new phone sorted I shall pronounce this week a success and happily hibernate till the weekend with one of the Lee Child's I collected from the library! RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 07-05-2025 Hope you had good luck at bingo Popeye That's good news about the scoot Hunni...just don't accidentally bump into any politicians & it shou;d be fine for ages. Hope all goes well with Mr K, he's certainl.y in the right place, thankfully our health system is just about still able to cope. Posted a parcel to Oz this morning for youngest grandson's birthday - $ 33 & a longish form to fill out which was in tiny lettering, & which I managed to muck up - twice - since I hadn't taken reading glasses since I'd no clue abut form filling being needed. Thankfully the lovely young woman at the counter was really kind & eventually filled it out for me & told me they were hoping the ridiculous size of the font would change. Me too. Had a quick scout around the mall but nothins inspiring for next birthdays so came home & took Madame le Dog for her walk & then some exciting weeding - yay. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 07-05-2025 I did bump into our local version a while back, doing a bit of glad handing. I upset him though, by the look on his face when I told him I thought he was more socially useful to the community before he got elected. Back then he was a fully trained paramedic. Saving lives instead of wasting his. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 07-05-2025 Hello Everyone. I too was awake from 2 am till about 3-30. Glad MrK is where he is they will soon sort him out. Please look after you too Kiwimade. You might be feeling great since your heart stuff but you need to pace yourself too. Glad the Scoot is working well Hunni and the new phone. You reminded me I need to get a new book for my book of words and numbers. Mine has collapsed. I admit Ive never been so pleased to have someone leave my house. Im sure she cheated in Bingo. she won plenty.. Did she share nope lol.. Two easter eggs and a voucher from a local cafe. Me I won two Boobie prizes of little packets of tissues which I think are rather cool. We had a Caller from the Big smoke and she was a laugh and a half and quarter.. I could have easily been her friend. She would have fitted well into the Coven. The last property manager finally replied to my email.. I'm sure she just waited until I made contact.. She is sending a form for me to sign and Ill get my bond back. A good kick start to the saving.. Madam is totally happy again. Curled up on my knee on a baby hottie.. Far more relaxed than she has been for the last few days. I have decided Ill go to Pukekohe tomorrow and have a wander through the oppies over there. I havent been in them since before my knee opp. So it will be nice to have a nosy again. Dont need many groceries, but will get anything I need while there. RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 08-05-2025 Morning all Cloud with sun trying to shine through Goodness KM I hope MrK received care and was admitted to hospital and that you managed to catch up on some sleep. A worrying time for both of you. Enjoy your shop today Popeye can't believe your friend didn't at least give you the local cafe voucher My day at warehouse one of my friends popped in yesterday with several knitted cardigans and a couple of knitted wool blankets so generous. Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 08-05-2025 Morning everyone A chilly grey day today. Mica she will run around after anyone if you keep your hand in the pocket. She makes out she is the salt of the earth but if you know her like I do , and cos I heard it all over the last few days, if people dont pay her petrol money for running them around she gets snarky.. Thats not a side I had seen until this past few days. She likes to be recognised that's for sure. Like announcing that She brought the fruit mince pies for the Party.. Only cos she had taken them to something on Saturday and no one ate them there either. Today they will be at Mainly Misuc for a 3rd outing for sure. Im sure her mother wasnt like that, but perhaps her Dad was.. I was raised if you take a plate, you leave what ever is left on it. Sort humming and harring about going shopping. Ill do some grocery price comparrisons and decidce if I reallly need to go. I know Pak n save has some really good specials. I hope MrK is into a ward now and being helped. Kiwimade I hope you managed to sleep. Eat well and sleep well. Have a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 08-05-2025 I just got my latest power bill. $169. I'm a bit shocked. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 08-05-2025 (08-05-2025, 02:02 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: I just got my latest power bill. $169. Wow Hunnie I would be too. It hasn't been too cold since Fanny left so haven't had the heat pump on. Hope mine isnt too bad RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 08-05-2025 Yes paying Delivery Charge for something that is already assembled and complete, the wiring and the poles etc, I think, plus low user charges gone, now charged at full price. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 08-05-2025 Hi everyone. Sounds like most of us are having a time of it. Patricka, I hope your bathroom woes are sorted. We still need to replace the vinyl in the loo/laundry/ kitchen from when the loo was replaced. It's going to cost around $6000, ouch! I agree with mica, your friend could have at least left the cafe voucher for you, popeye. Good to hear your scoot is all repaired and better than ever, OHH ![]() MrK is still in hospital. They will remove the catheter tomorrow at 6.00am and then watch him for six hours. Once they (and he) are confident everything is in working order, he can come home. Last night I fell asleep on the couch at 7.30pm (ish) and the Furry One woke me at 9.00pm. Bed, and I didn't wake until 6.30am. Anything could have happened, and I wouldn't have heard it. I've been up to the hospital today and am finally home. Back tomorrow to bring him home. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 08-05-2025 (08-05-2025, 04:10 PM)kiwimade64 Wrote: Hi everyone. Sounds like most of us are having a time of it. Fingers crossed Kiwimade. Ill tell you how often I go to a cafe, I had to ask which one this was. Cos I dont know where each one is. or she could have left me a piece of the lolly cake she got 4 pieces of. Wish the Sparky would hurry up and come. I might ring them now actually. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 08-05-2025 Good luck for Mr K tomorrow, hope all goes well & he's home again. Strangely warm here so managed to dig out some more violets & get them planted along the top end of drive. Still a long way to go but at least its started.Fingers crossed they do well & spread swiftly. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 08-05-2025 On the good news front I got my phone set up. Except for the verizon thing, it seems someone forgot to unlock it, though it doesn't really matter because verizon don't limit other provider sim use. It is just a minor irritation till I work out how to get rid. Or find a young person to do it for me. And I made bikkies. Old fashioned Sante bikkies, my childhood favourite. Though mine don't taste as good as my Mums. Close though. Very good with coffee... Early night I think for me - you too km perhaps. Several nights of broken sleep, I have earned one of those sleep through ones! RE: You can never have enough... - Olive - 08-05-2025 (08-05-2025, 02:02 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: I just got my latest power bill. $169. Ours arrived today - $210 compared with about $120 for the same period last year. And our predicted bill for next month is $450! It is indeed shocking. And the winter energy payment won't touch the sides... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-05-2025 Morning everyone Wet but not cold today which is nice. Im not using my heat pump now unless its freezing. Glad you got the phone sorted or nearly Hunnie. I may be looking at them myself soon. it comes up saying the battery is nearly dead... Which is odd. Never seen that before. I phoned the Sparky, he rang straight back.. Will be here Mid morning. Said he may be able to sort a couple of elements out but will probably have to order the thermostat for the oven... He said it sounds like the Thermostat. I Admit to wanting to say No Chit Sherlock lol. Then David rang. He had sent me a photo of Campbell. They gave him a hair cut. A Bloody Number one all over.. Same hair dresser and they know how his hair has been for a very long time. David was angry and Sad. And I admit after we talked I looked at the photo. I hadn't seen it cos my phone doesn't notify me of a photo.. It made me sad and angry too.. He looks like a criminal. When we finished talking I said Ill look at the picture. David said dont text we will talk tomorrow... I couldn't talk. He is bringing me a plug in stove. He got it when he first moved to his new property cos they had to lift it to re-pile it. He likes to bake and cook and like me couldn't cope without an oven. Thats what frustrated me about looking at houses, the number of them that didn't have ovens.. Its not a law these days, they only need to supply a mini oven or air fryer.. Thats NUTS. Theres a Crash on the Kaimais... so avoid the area everyone Have a good day RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 09-05-2025 morning ladies ![]() MrK texted me earlier to say he was 'freeeeee!' lol. I am assuming the catheter is out lol. Now we wait to see if everything is in proper working order. I've finished the housework (so much easier without him here lol) and will be going up to hopefully bring him home shortly. He has to wait those six hours first. I meant to thank zquerty for the advice about the mouse and pest trap for the washing machine. I mentioned it to the delivery lady, and she was already looking for it ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Praktica - 09-05-2025 (09-05-2025, 08:08 AM)popeye333 Wrote: Morning everyoneA developer knocked over the old house next to us, and built 4 small houses on the section. These places have a 2 element cooktop and a mini oven. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 09-05-2025 I don't know why they don't do that here. I just need a small glass cooktop and a bench oven. I might suggest it when they refurb. If they refurb, lol... Thank you Olive, I feel better about my power bill now hearing of your exorbitant one. And the heat pump has been turned off outside, I shall rely on my hot water bottles and be diligent about curtain pulling. And I am scheming about reorganising my plugs to remove standby power use, I don't need those christmas tree lights overnight, I wonder if it would make much of a difference... |
