RE: You can never have enough... - Edeemaxy - 27-05-2025 I tried the same thing and found shorter posts with clear, local keywords worked way better. Also noticed some cars sell faster just with good pics and an honest description. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-05-2025 Same thing as what edee? You don't like conversational posts? RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 27-05-2025 morning ladies, what a pea souper we have this morning! And I say it again, temporary kiwis on our road not using their car's lights. Welcome Edeemaxy ![]() ![]() It might just be an 'indoor' day. I'll make the pastry for the chicken pie (left over roast chook) this morning using the last of our butter I had in the freezer. Made the filling yesterday so the pie is half made. And I have a couple of bananas in the freezer as well, so might as well bake a banana and feijoa cake. I am well and truly over this hardanger. I have never made so many mistakes on a piece before and it isn't even a complicated design. There are five more 'blocks' of pattern left to do thank goodness. I'm wondering if my mind is thinking of the gorgeous sea horse I have semi planned in my head and not concentrating on what needs to be done. Coffee is finished and MrK needs help. RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 27-05-2025 Good morning. Grey day ... we had a ton of rain overnight so very wet underfoot. Groceries today and I shall endeavour to finish off the vest that hasn't had a lot of attention lately. I've dug out some patterns for knitted dolls clothes next, after a request. I'm mulling over knitting myself a merino Cardy after that. Chicken pie, yum. I might include a leek or two and a chicken in my shop, with that in mind. Yes, home doctor visits are (mostly) a thing of the past. I'm just happy we can generally get a doctor's appointment within 3 or 4 days! A friend recently got the closest appt for a month's time! Had better move to get to the supermarket. Stay warm and dry all. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-05-2025 That delay might be a good thing though... I walked in to my surgery a while back to see someone about a sore arm, got an immediate consult, and came down with that respiratory bug two days later, lol... My merino and silk knitting project is at the interesting stage. I am making a vest, just two rectangles with rib edging surrounding seed stitch panels and I am nearly at the 'same size' bit where I have to decide on the neckline shaping. I should have found a pattern before I started... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 27-05-2025 Morning everyone Fine so far. Wow saw the fog on Breakfast Kiwimade. Not sure what I will do today.. Feel like doing something rebellious or out of the norm, but not sure what. Could go hunting for the new kettle I got, well second hand but like new. But I have no idea where it is. Could have a wander around the oppies, but there is nothing I need. Could window shop, but again there is nothing I need and going out in the cooler weather is a bit silly. Could diamond paint, but not sure I want to do that either lol.. Think Ill do my games and see what happens after that.. My head is at dinner time cos Im looking forward to the corned beef Sammie's lol. And I didn't think it would be a good look for breakfast lol.. Have a fab day all. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 27-05-2025 You could aways make it a boat neck, simple, no fuss knitting ![]() I also remember sitting in the waiting room with sick kids and I also remember the then receptionist yelling at me as I stepped through the door, 'I thought I told you, you didn't need to bring her in!' (I had phoned for advice first and she refused to put me through to a nurse). I glared at her and said, you're not a nurse, don't tell me when I should or shouldn't bring my kids in to see the doctor. She didn't last long in that job. This was years ago when the kids were small. Thank goodness things have changed. Pastry is made and resting in the fridge and the bananas and feijoas mashed for the cake. It's the first time I have used frozen bananas (they don't look pretty lol) and it will be interesting to see how they bake. When MrK has finished in the kitchen I'll finish up. Years ago MrP was beaten up by his great nephew, I rang the drs and told the receptionist that I needed an appointment as his eye was bad. She said there weren't any. I took him down anyway, she hit the roof and said there wasn't time today. We sat opposite the Drs door. His patient left, he walked out saw MrPs eye and said to the next person there would be a delay. That receptionist didn't last long either. There are Many Bulldog receptionists in this country. They dont last long anywhere. RE: You can never have enough... - GJW - 27-05-2025 Hi KM, I freeze and bake with frozen bananas all the time. They do not look pretty!!! But the baking comes out great. Hope you have the same result. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 27-05-2025 Hi GJW, and welcome ![]() Another kiwi on Aljazeera ![]() ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 27-05-2025 Afternoon Lovely calm balmy day DH uses frozen bananas all the time with good results agree they are not aesthetically pretty ![]() Drove into city for my haircut trip took longer than usual an hour for 20 min trip when traffic flowing just meantcno stop a Butlers for hot chocolate before my 9 am appt. Heaps of park's thank goodness. DH caught the train and we met up to try new cafe out and a bit of window shopping. Home for lunch. Knit night today will start another pair of booties Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 27-05-2025 (27-05-2025, 12:30 PM)kiwimade64 Wrote: Hi GJW, and welcome Meant to say earlier I throw bananas in the freezer, skin and all, all the time. They go black and squishy but make the best banana cakes. Have filled the wheelie bin with cut down boxes. Have heaps to go yet. But that's ok. About to have my corned beef sammie now that Madam has done a quality check on it for me lol RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-05-2025 I use frozen bananas to make ice cream, I roll them in lemon juice before freezing, havent noticed a colour change... RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-05-2025 Bad news for our village ladies... the drunk driver has come home. We were hoping he'd scarpered to avoid the charges. Now we're hoping he goes to jail. Fingers crossed. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 27-05-2025 Greetings to the newbies, hope you like it here. Oh, thats bad news Hunni - I'd like to think he gets help for what seems to be an addiction but who knows. Did the dreaded groceries & then a bit more weeding - I loathe weeding but think I now hate buttercups more. The wretched things are mounting a takeover bid along the drive where I'm trying to plant violets, mainly because they spread really well & don't need looking after - I'm not much use with flowers. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 27-05-2025 Wow not good Hunnie. Hopefully he will vanish. Ohh my sandwich was yummy... Repeat for dinner tonight. Lilith thats part pf the reason I planted some old violets in my tubs. To hang onto them and they dont need any care really lol. Used to have them growing around the blackberry plants. The possibiilities of its possible use on politicians sprang to mind straight away, oddly. I'm fairly sure they grow in America too... ![]() ![]() |
