The joys of ageing...Celebrex or its analog keeps me moving. Just one a day. More if its bad, but that is not so often since the new hip went in. The odd thing is that around 10-15 years ago a locum filling in for my then Dr told me I had arthritis in my hands, but I'd had no symptoms so I thought he'd got it wrong. Until now dammit. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 28-05-2025 Bollocks Agreed. I have it in my hands, not as bad as my grandmother yet. But I do try and keep my fingers moving. Like Hunnie said at the start of the day and when they start to ache cos you have overused them you certainly know. Just remember that those 8 over the day include night time dose. Don't try and take them all while you are awake. I take Fish oil capsules. They help. And if Financial enough some Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Funny you should mention the dishes Hunnie. Im the same lol.. Im not missing the dishwasher at all. And with that, Im off to do my dishes.. RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 28-05-2025 8 a day sounds far too many Lilith7, that is the max dose for adults, risk of liver or kidney damage, can't remember which, I would try half that dosage when aching is bothersome. Thing is Paracetomol have no effect on me & told the Doc but it seems that often, they can work even so if its for this. So I try these for three days & if they have no effect then switch to the others. Plus I have to drink loads of water to avoid kidney damage - think it was kidneys. The Bryan Bruce interview today was with Dr Gary Payinda, a Dr who's been living & working here & believes this govt wants to eventually privatise health. I think he's right. This one was able to be shared so for anyone interested, here's the link. https://bryanbruce.substack.com/p/ep-48-dr-gary-payinda-save-our-public?r=2qjk6r&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&fbclid=IwY2xjawKjZh9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETE0cHRNbDltOWJjTUdUZHVZAR5Jf8HidGJ9P6HJd_AvdbEyERXaMGZFFJaDZPGRxEUHXIXVqmbKbtTuNgBiDw_aem_uivS7BJlxMrDN3bgRBxwBA&triedRedirect=true RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 28-05-2025 Celebrex might have bleeding issues in sensitive guts so docs often try to partner it with losec, which is also a bit nasty on the side effects, so rather than take that I just make sure I take mine in the morning with glass of water, followed rapidly by a nice cup of tea. Or two. And even with my other regular anti coag I have had no gut bleeding issues with the celebrex. And I have taken it almost constantly now for decades, since wrecking my leg. I am a fan of the stuff. Regular blood tests will show up any problems, so I recommend... RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 28-05-2025 Fish oil is good, I take it when I remember to. RE: You can never have enough... - Edeemaxy - 29-05-2025 Morning! Great to see the gang here - feels like a cozy home away from home already. Looking forward to keeping our chats going strong. By the way, just a quick heads-up for anyone cycling out there: always good to know about cyclist liability to stay safe and covered on the roads. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 29-05-2025 Yup, gravel rash is a painful affliction. But then so is lycra. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 29-05-2025 morning ladies ![]() Nice to see you back, edeemaxy, welcome to the madhouse ![]() BOLLOCKS! ![]() We haven't had a dishwasher for 35 years. Hand washing dishes in the winter after hanging washing out on a frosty morning certainly warms the hands. And I like that dishes are done and dusted in one hit, no waiting for the washer to finish. Dishes are dried and put away. Our kitchen is small, and we would rather have the cupboard space. To be fair though, there has been the odd day where I've wished for one lol. I'm being glared at by the Furry One, he obviously wants us to do the garden 'rounds' lol. He loves routine ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 29-05-2025 I like paracetamol. It puts me to sleep, lol. Very useful! I got a text late last night, tech coming today to sort out the hot water issue. It'll be good not to risk scalding if I want to shower, and to put my power bills back around excessively expensive instead of OMG I need a bank loan... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 29-05-2025 Morning everyone. Supposed to rain. Hopefully Ill remain dry while tripping about. Bloods, eyes and shopping today. I will say I enjoy shopping much better these days.. I still price compare tho. Nice seeing some newbies. We are a wonderful lot. Creative too beit it in crafts, cooking, gardening etc etc. And the best political discussions without anyone having a hissy. My Cabinets didnt arrive yesterday.. Since they are a signature one I hope they dont arrive until Im home. Got my baking trowel, stainless steel, a rectangle and an awesome handle. So you can press things into square or rectangle corners. And I finally have a Madeline tray. something I see more often in cookbooks these days, and something I have wanted to make. Dont think Ive ever eaten one lol. Better get myself sorted. Have a fab day all (29-05-2025, 07:30 AM)kiwimade64 Wrote: morning ladies I was told taking paracetamol with other pain meds make them work better. Think it was a cardiologist after my heart surgery. Yay RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 29-05-2025 If you wash a panadol down with strong coffee the caffeine boosts the effect... RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 29-05-2025 I find that when I have headaches, OHH ![]() Buggar, phoned the vet for the Furry One's meds and the 'script has run out. Means a vet visit and an extra bill. Oh well, the things we do for our furry ones. RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 29-05-2025 Morning all Raining Tidied up sewing stuff yesterday had cuppa with sewing mate when she dropped a pattern off for me so traced that offafter she left. My morning at the warehouse and food hunt this afternoon. Need to return the spring snaps that I bought at Spotlight over the weekend as they didn't work. Thought it was operator error but couple others tried and they could install them either. So I bit the bullet and have ordered the dies and snaps for my Kam table press. I should have done this originally I have paid the price for being stingy. Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - Jan - 29-05-2025 This has been a great week - there seems to be so much doom and gloom around when something good happens i savour it There are several organisations around who put together childrens winter pyjamas and slipper sets for vulnerable kids - one of the pensioners using the social supermarket asked if she could make adult TV slippers - they have proved very popular and several are now keeping the shelf full .Anyway one of the volunteers floated the idea with Robie if she could source adult nightmare at a discount would he fund it - long story short she found an Ozzie/NZ place I have never heard of that sells all sorts Health Pride or maybe Health Post - buggar me 8 cartons of free stuff turned up at the supermarket- there are those velour sort of house coats that my Mum used to have with embroidery on the yoke - lovely wynciette nighties and pyjamas - knit nighties more suitable for the young ones - singlets didn’t know people still wore them - knickers and petticoats - whole range of sizes right up to great big - everything is very long so the sewers are getting cracking making the majority normal - even bed jackets .There are some very generous people around - RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 29-05-2025 How lovely, Jan! I have adopted lazy day wear for those bad weather days when I'm stuck inside, and discovered kmart pj separates, in cotton, lovely and soft and so cheap I can be generous with myself. So each super pay gets me a few to add to the pile, I am really enjoying them! RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 29-05-2025 oh wow, how generous of them to donate, Jan. I'm sure they will be well appreciated ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 29-05-2025 (29-05-2025, 08:25 AM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: If you wash a panadol down with strong coffee the caffeine boosts the effect... Can't be bothered cooking dinner so got a small pizza when out; never tried one of these so it had better be good. It just goes to show that despite the greedy & selfish ones, there are people all over the world doing small good things to help others. ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 29-05-2025 How Lovely Jan.. Only you did make me Laugh with Adult Nightmare... stupid predictive text lol. I still wear singlets, Men's ones cos they are longer... And petticoats. Its been a long day out. I got a new wine glass, actually I think its a brandy glass.. Its Massive lol. Ill take a photo later. Its sitting on my red placemat on the coffee table, it will look even better when the table is white. $6 for a glass and I think it was worth every cent lol.. Might transfer my shells, driftwood and candle into that for a change. My new glasses are pretty. Sort of a rose pink colour, more oval lenses and when I put them on they pretty much disappear.. It was an instant love. Oddly my first glasses about 40 years ago were pretty much the same colour but they were plastic. These ones are really light... She said my eyes had changed a lot so it will take a while to get used to them. They will be doing another special test when I pick them up too, cant think what that was now. They are so busy I can't pick them up till June 19th. Got fish and chips for my lunch. Which was lovely but wayyyy too much. I got the special that had a bit of Hoki, a hot dog and a scoop of chips.. For $10-50.. I reckon there was a whole kilo bag of chips in it.. So I have oodles of those left. Got home and My cabinets were in the front porch. Meant to be signed for. But they are here, so I walked those inside. And David just dropped off a goody bag. He was grabbing me some butter on the weekend.. So I finally got that, some home grown mandarins, oranges and lemons. A bag of flour and two very yummy smelling cheese scones he must have made this morning. He also left me a passionfruit plant. I must say its way healthier than the scraggy one I got from the nursery, so Ill plant that tomorrow or on the weekend.. Ill wear gloves lol.. and Ill be able to use a little spade now that I retrieved it from the back shed. Game time.. but Ohh I cant wait till I can read again , my books are ready and waiting. |
