RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 04-06-2025 Yes KM we have a few things earmarked to watch at home but I wanted to get out of the house and go to local movie theatrs. Wednesday is old conger day get free drink with your ticket Bought feline new cat toy while out she has been having fun RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 04-06-2025 Cold & wet here but didn't rain first thing so ventured out. One of the boots which had new zips put in had conked out so took it back & the lovely chap looked at it,dug under the counter & brought out something or other which he proceeed to rub along the zip several times, & presto! it works again. Fingers crossed it lasts. They may be very old & on their second pair of soles but they're my favourite boots - & oddly enough also the cheapest boots I own, having scored them on TM years ago, probably close to 10 years so they don't owe me anything. Went into supermarket while there & got a packet of veg mince which I'll probably try out as spag bol, (once I get some sauce) its the quorn brand & their veg sausages are the best I've come across so far, as are their spinach schnitzels, though very filling. A few spots of rain on the way home but nothing major so maybe it might develop into a downpour later. Yes, I'll be having a look at that Fear series too. I also found that Long bright River on sky open good too. RE: You can never have enough... - Jan - 04-06-2025 Stay home day here in the Bay for sure - supposed to clear tomorrow so I won’t moan A couple of good watches on Apple - Slow Horses and Bad Sisters - the latter is set in Ireland which I especially enjoyed .I chop and change - haven’t had Neon on for months .I hav3 been watching the Karen Read trial on You Tube - absolutely fascinating - small town police force in the States are certainly corrupt compared to ours Fun and games at the supermarket this morning - there has definitely been a tightening of kids on job seeker having to make a decent effort to keep a job and if they haven’t been made to go to school and can’t read or write their options are only trolleys ,vacuuming leaves in the car park or re cycling .One kid went on final warning last week he was sucking up the leaves with the fancy machine decided he had enough so strolled up town leaving the machine out and it was stolen .Because it was the third time he had taken off got a written final warning much to his mothers disgust - this morning the mother turned up to do his shift - he wouldn’t get out of bed! He isn’t interested in learning to read so he is going to find it so hard to find a job that suits him .The mother abused Robie but he can’t undo the years when the kid didnt go to school - feel sorry for the kid RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 04-06-2025 Had a lovely time at Bingo. Won on 4 lines and one of the raffles. So mini choccie fish and the raffle is a luxurious soft cream and camel/fawn colour that will look lovely on my brown chairs, Some pretty pink exfoliating scrubbing gloves and a protex soap. We always have fun and lots of laughter. Erin wasn't well. Low BP so we took care of the chairs and tables. She won quite a lot too. She is normally the caller. Raining and cool. Madam is curled up in my left arm. Hope to catch up with my twin Bro. He had a heart attack on Monday, they put a stent in. Calcification in the vein they did his bypass with. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 04-06-2025 I use a pencil on my boot zips every autumn when I give them their pre winter leather spa day. The graphite dust from the pencil makes the runners travel sweet and smooth. The worst problem I have with them is when the pulls finally give up, makes using my boot hook a bit challenging. Your Madam and my Tatty know how to respond to a damp day popeye. Herself is curled up on the purple shiny hooded robe I have been gifted to recycle. It has the Queen trademark embroidered in gold on the back, it was a bit of fan merchandise from an Adam Lambert concert apparently. My friend thinks I should cut that out of the piece and stitch it onto my winter coat, I am thinking ' perhaps... ' but on the inside lol. Not brave enough to wear it as a gang patch!! I might have to make a cat cushion out of the rest for the Tatt, she really does like the slipperyness of that thing... They have their Mama's sorted out firmly don't they lol Put the Queen Trademark in the inside of the lapel so you can flash it if needed lol. Caught up with Twin. He is ok, but not allowed to drive for a couple of weeks, so it might mess with his new job as a truckie. Yep, I do that as well on any sticking zip, works a treat. The two eldest great granddaughters came to visit & the eldest (just turned 5) remembered virtually everything I'd showed her on the computer, enough to do two more paintings with a bit of help - all abstract at this stage of course. she has a good eye for colour too. Her wee sister wanted a turn but at 2 isn't really able to do it yet. Finally started to rain properly, so glad I did stuff earlier, & no weeding blasted buttercups today - yay. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 04-06-2025 My h/w tank is leaking. And has been for about six weeks according to the plumber. So I am wondering about mould potential. It is now on the super urgent replacement agenda, but we will see. I guess that means more early mornings, dammit... RE: You can never have enough... - zqwerty - 04-06-2025 "when the pulls finally give up" Use a big safety pin as a handle to pull the zip up. So I am wondering about mould potential. Wow not good Hunnie. Im guessing a slow leak or you would have noticed the wet. It will be worth the early mornings to be able to have a long hot shower when you can. Like me popping out at sparrow fart yesterday to unlock the gate for the grumpy lawn man.. Who then didn't turn up until 3pmish.. And he waved like I was a long lost friend lol. My temu order arrived.. Dumped over the fence left in the rain. So I've put a second complaint int, but will phone them tomorrow too. Its simply not good enough. The floor rug is nice, the white is more a very light tan which will still look nice with the timber floors and the chairs. Its currently unfolding on the spare bed. Madam has discovered the one cupboard that doesnt shut properly and thinks she can sneak in there.. Need to put something small but heavy in front of it so she cant.. Im a spoil sport lol. Dripping down the back apparently and being soaked up by the wrap before going through the floorboards. If there is mould they will remediate, so we will just wait and see... I do wish they'd got onto it though when I reported it nearly three weeks ago. Would've saved me a chunk of my power bill due next week. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 04-06-2025 Well, popeye, we can always rely on the cat, and a hot water bottle! And the weather guys are predicting a warmer than usual winter... RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 05-06-2025 morning ladies ![]() I'm expecting our power bill to be around the $230 mark. Am keeping an eye on it by using the app. The app will even break the costs down to hourly costs which is handy when budgeting. There are leaves to rake onto the garden this morning, the maple trees make fabulous mulch. And the autumn colours are a bright spot in the garden. We are lucky to have three ![]() I've been working on the piece of hardanger and can finally see the finish line. Another week should do the trick. Unless this wet weather hangs around longer than planned. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 05-06-2025 Morning everyone It is warmer today which is great. Didn't hear any thunder or anything last night, here. We are lucky having our person furry hot water bodies to help keep us warm.. Its odd to think about in Madams case her 3.3 kilo frame can pin me to the bed lol.. Im taking my new jug back to Briscoes today. It has a button on the top to open the lid. It seldom works, meaning I have to try and prize it open with a fingernail. Which when Im making my rice means the jug is still hot cos it takes 8 cups of hot water. Ill take the money and go to the warehouse and get one that looks similar but has a better lid mechanism. Woolies has pepsi on special too so thats the bonus. Ill be phoning NZ post first tho.. I put in an online complaint last night, but Id done that before. and heard nothing. So I will chase them up. I do like my artificial Calla Lillies, I thought they were Arun Lillies. but they are pretty for artificial flowers. And they have taken over the Hurricane glass , they fit perfectly lol. Have a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 05-06-2025 Morning all Very strong winds overnight calm now, not cold Sounds like younare getting sorted Popeye OHH 3 weeks to respond to malfunctioning hot water system is poor hope you have things sorted soon. Decided I need a dark navy pair of jeans as I have added couple navy tops to my wardrobe. Phoned the fabric shop whichnis a 20 min drive to check if they had any dark blue stretch denim yes they did so I drove through driving rain got very damp getting from car to shop only to find that the stretch denim they had was pale blue or black. All was not lost as I picked up 3m upholstery fabric for $8/m enough to make 12 tote bags for the Nest $2/bag not too bad. My overlocker has been fixed so off to Palmerston North again tomorrow to rondaveau in petrol station for the exchange. DH wants to call into factory knitwear shop in Levin on way home Warehouse this morning I have 8 pairs of booties to take I am so over using the same wool still have 3 balls to use . Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 05-06-2025 I know the feeling mica. I have finished the vest in the merino possum yarn but really do not like the colour on me, but I have four hanks of the stuff left, so I think I shall list it at a silly start price and solve the problem. The vest'll probably end up at the op shop I suspect. But not a total loss, I enjoyed knitting it! |
