RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 22-06-2025 First lot GF cream horns a success ![]() ![]() Taking them to afternoon tea. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 22-06-2025 Yum. I am tempted by a very simple apple cake recipe. But it is so comfy sitting here in the sun... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 22-06-2025 Awesome Mica. I just saw Tom Kerridge make a lovely looking carrot cake.. Id be tempted with that. Except i dont have any carrots or cream cheese , and I have no intentions of going out before Thursday if I can help it lol I'm thinking of moving the bed in the spare room. Nuts I know but Ill think on it for a while lol RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 22-06-2025 Blonde Award for the week goes to me. lol Because there is only me and I've lived using water in small tanks. I'm a very low user. And cos I well just looked at the total I over paid by $25 lol.. Soo thankful I have a landlord who told me. The last property manager didn't and I ended up $700 plus in credit.. One needs to look at things properly. lol RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 22-06-2025 I like being in credit. It is a safe place to be when on a low income. I was annoyed they never told me I was in credit tho. Until I missed one payment of $6 nd I emailed to apologise, thats when I learnt I had the massive credit. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 23-06-2025 morning ladies ![]() Definitely, credit is the best place to be. Beats trying to find big amounts when bills are due and smooths out those bumpy bits. I have some dishwashing liquid bottles to take to the foodbank today. They put a call out for some on FB as they buy the liquid in bulk and fill bottles for food packs. While there, I'll ask if they need any other containers. Better than landfill and even recycling as plastic can only be recycled so many times. And I need to phone the bin people as there will be no bins to collect tomorrow. Our bins are usually full of uncompostable garden waste but in winter there isn't much. And we have very little rubbish for landfill. My TM auction finishes today for two rimu doors. No bids but three watchers. Fingers crossed they sell. It would be nice to see them being used and the extra $$$ would be handy. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-06-2025 Morning everyone Grey out.. not too cold tho. Another no show for the boxes yesterday.. People are just so blardy lazy and expect you to drop off. Gayle is coming to get them tis morning and have a coffee and catch up. Took me ages to sort the phone out.. And I still cant find the password for the Wi-Fi .. I dont use it a lot on the phone but I was getting ratty so gave up on it for now. Might look into mobile plans with unlimited data, that would solve the problem lol. Might unpack and charge up the lappy later... Just dont want to end up wound up over that too I should probably avoid it for now... I must also sort the doorbell out now I can read the instructions. Have a fab day... RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 23-06-2025 Morning all Scattered cloud cool Always good to be in credit. Popeye the password for our wifi is series numbers and letters on the back of the router. Been to gym only missed last week and it felt likecI had been awayv for months. Extra shift at warehouse today covering fir sick volunteer Not sure what I will get upnto this afternoon, have meeting at 5pm so my day is full Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 23-06-2025 Good morning. Overcast but not as cold as it has been. Hopefully gets warm enough to get into the garden at the cold/shaded end of the section today. After lunch have the GC ... school has a TO day so it's only been 2 short weeks up to the holidays ... lucky them. Onto a 2nd matinee vest ... a good way to use up yarn and keep my fingers busy in the evening. I remember using that Wifi PW Mica ... almost needed a magnifying glass, lol. Until son changed to an easier one! Time to decide where to hang the washing. Enjoy the day all. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-06-2025 (23-06-2025, 08:42 AM)Mica Wrote: Morning all Thanks Mica. I will have a look later. Something you dont do often so easy to forget. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 23-06-2025 I printed our WIFI password out using a bigger font and laminated it. Makes it so much easier to read if we need it. I've dropped of the dishwashing liquid bottles to the food bank and they really like your idea of using yoghurt containers for laundry powder. They have been bagging it into plastic bags and it's difficult to scoop it in and out. Thanks for the info, popeye ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-06-2025 We need to save the scoops that go with... RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-06-2025 Your welcome Kiwimade. They are a handy size for a family too. Thank you Mica, once I got the magnifying glass out and read the bit on the back of the modem explaining that some numbers and letters look alike I got it working. I got a marker pen and wrote it on the back of the modem a lot larger. I've plugged the new lappy in, so It should be easy enough to connect that up too. I figure if anyone broke in they would soon run out of internet anyway cos I only buy 30gbs at a time lol My boxes have finally gone. And had a quick catch up with Gayle. They didn't have any staff on so she had left Her David alone at the business. Game day today.. Im making a cheese and bacon potato bake for my dinner tonight. It will do two meals at least. Warming and filling. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-06-2025 I am eating the third chapter of my chicken leg and vegie one pot dish that began with the idea of soup, but ended up rather tasty as it was. Tonight I might put it over some nice brown rice, seeing I have finally got the knack of cooking the stuff... I started to watch Shogun last night, the tv series on my cheap Disney subscription. Boy it's good. If rather disturbing in its depictions of bad ways to die. But the sets and costuming are glorious... Tonight I might put it over some nice brown rice, seeing I have finally got the knack of cooking the stuff... I remember the earlier version of Shogun with Richard Chamberlain. That was very good too. I put a hold on three books yesterday so went into library with the fim intention of just getting one book or at most, two just to tide me over until they trun up. So I came out with four... ![]() I watched Joan last night on Sky open; really good. Can't remember the lead's name but she played Sansa Stark in Game of thrones. So I'm hooked on that now, think I may have to see if library has the book. Its based on her life. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2024/sep/29/joan-review-sophie-turner-sparkles-in-this-wild-true-story-of-a-rags-to-riches-jewel-thief Ah - Sophie Turner. ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-06-2025 I have two to pick up tomorrow. Picture books pretty much on Andy Goldsworthy's old works. I want his dvd, Of Rivers and Tides which is my winter go to, but Auckland Libraries no longer have it. Sad. It is the most wonderful watch... RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 24-06-2025 morning ladies ![]() We watched the movie 'The Good Liar' on Netflix last evening and it was an excellent watch. Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen never let you down. Awesome twist at the end. If the day stays calm, I might start a mid-winter weed in the garden to give me a head start in spring. The last of the leaves need raking onto the garden as well. And I need to compost where the knee-high dahlias are being planted now the twitch has been killed off. That weed is a menace. Still working on the seahorse. It looks better with these brighter colours ![]() Might give hanging out the washing a whirl and see how dry it can get today. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-06-2025 Good morning everyone Grey but not cold today. Well Ill be phoning Hardly Normal this morning. The brand new lappy has a damaged screen.. Theres a line across the bottom corner. So Ill take that back on Thursday. Im off to see Dianne today. Since she cant drive yet, Im happy to go visit her, like she did with me when I couldn't drive last year. Im finding the war news is getting me down so Im going to try and avoid the news when I can.. Head in the Sand kind of thing. Im usually good at doing that. Oh my potato bake was delish last night.. tonights will be even better. Have a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 24-06-2025 Morning all Nippy car wind screen frosted over Gardeners are out and about finally dry enough for the lawns to be tdnded to. Not much on today reading for meeting this afternoon. Enjoy your day |
