RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 08-07-2025 Power bill just in $162, better than last month, Still in credit yay RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-07-2025 Morning everyone. Up early cos Ill go do my bloods then take the car for the warrant. It should be ok, I got the new tyres a few months ago. Then Ill do my price comparisons for shopping tomorrow. And paint... Have a lovely day all RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 09-07-2025 Morning all Overcast nippy Been out to get buttons and large snaps from local emporium. Plan on quilting abc panel today so that will be fun. Feline has her annual check and vax later this afternoon. I suspect she has gained weight since the k9 has left us it will be interesting to see how much. Has lovely chat over coffee with our neighbours across the road. He is pretty incapacitated waiting for hip replacement. Jug has boiled time for a cuppa. Keep warm and enjoy the day RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 09-07-2025 morning ladies ![]() Been over to the hospital and they are aiming to have him home Friday. He's been walking using their walkers so that's good. Not very far, but better than nothing. Told MrK about the rat and he said, where there is one, there is at least two. So hopefully the bait was shared around. I'll need to buy more, that was supposed to last us a couple of years lol. My friend's great-niece was the little girl in the tree after being washed away in the Texas flood. We are all so relieved both her and her friend survived. Badly battered and bruised, but alive to tell the story. Time to tackle that cupboard. I have a mask and gloves and the step ladder. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-07-2025 Well all my jobs are done. The new smoke alarm is installed. The car passed the warrant and it was nice to catch up with the boss man. He apologized for taking so long, he put the front window down, and of course had trouble putting it back up again lol. Ive cut up and frozen a tin of fruit. It should last 21 days, but possibly longer And I have bonus juice. Now to do my game and prices. Need a tin tin for the rat bait KM lol... Wow lucky re your American friends too, I saw the girl who had been in the tree for ages. I had a look earlier for slow cat feeders, aka a dish with bits sticking up making getting bikkies slightly harder to get, meaning she will not be able to scoff them down so quickly then throw them up again. Temu ones were all too flash, she wouldn't use them but have founds some on TM So Ill get one of those and see if it helps. So Long as she doesn't start losing weight RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 09-07-2025 Good news for my K with luck, KM & those wee girls were so lucky. I fancied a carrot cake but when I looked the two recipes I used to make, they seemed to have fortyblarydthree ingredients, lots of mucking about heating & beating - & require vast amounts of patience, one even had a small tin of pineapple fgs - so went looking & found on on the net which seemed easier. HA! Until I set about making the damn thing. Took ages, & I managed to leave out some of the milk, only discovering it after I'd put it in the oven.Of course. It came out more or less OK, slightly dry - that'll be the milk - but not bad. have put a couple of bits in freezer to see how it goes & might give the great grandsons some when they visit on Friday for the youngest's birthday. Don't think I'll bother baking again anytime soon... RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 09-07-2025 Some days we just need to stay out of the kitchen Lilith. Feline health check and vax done she has forgiven me cause she really wanted some the mince I was cooking for dinner ha the snit didn't last long ![]() Quilt done will stitch down binding tonight, its not square grr... the abc panel obvious not printed square would have looked off if I did square it. Can't tell when it is laying on the floor becomes apparent when you fold it up. I don't think the baby will care. Glad your carcgotvthectick Popeye Two more sleeps before mr K home KM here will be pleased. . RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-07-2025 (Yesterday, 03:31 PM)Lilith7 Wrote: Good news for my K with luck, KM & those wee girls were so lucky. Oh dear Lilith... my microwave carrot cake has pineapple in it lol. and mixed spice and cinnamon too yummm.. BUT it takes longer to get all the ingredients measured than it does to cook. Make custard if its too dry. Yeah Im pleased the car passed, needs something to do with the squishyness of the suspension next time, might ask Di if her blokes know how to fix it. Have sorted all my prices and having a wee stock up for when I wont be able to drive after my surgery. Might phone the clinic when I get home tomorrow and see if they can see me on the list. Its 6 months now. Had a lovely thick piece of snapper for tea. It was a big piece too. Only packed yesterday and marked down to $4-90 today. no waste, other than one Lonely scale lol. And yep play with my food and my INR was back to nearly perfect lol RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 10-07-2025 Morning all Slow start still tucked up reading in bed My morning at warehouse grocery shop this afternoon. I might get to cutvout fabric for pair jeans we will see Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-07-2025 morning ladies ![]() Haven't heard from MrK, he said he will phone after the doctors have done their rounds. INR still too low yesterday. The nurse reminded him Friday homecoming wasn't a given. At least they are helping him get about a bit more but it's hard with staff shortages. Yesterday while the nurse was showering MrK, I made his bed as the health worker was away. Told them they only have to ask, and I'll do it while there. I might do a bit of weeding, will take my phone out with me. I usually leave it inside when out in the garden lol. That's what answer phones and text messaging is for ![]() Yesterday my friend dropped off a dozen beautiful eggs her hens had laid. Might have eggs on toast for dinner. One of the perks of MrK not being home lol. RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 10-07-2025 Good morning. Overcast and expecting showers, much warmer today. It's been a long time since I made carrot cake ... yum ... tended to use a recipe with pineapple. Lol OHH, I thought I overdid it with 6 library books out usually ... have to allow for rejects though! 40 years since the Rainbow Warrior bombing ... where has the time gone! I had child No.3 on the way! Need groceries at some stage, a vest nearly finished and more wool lined up (at GD request) for another. GKs to mind this morning, so better get moving. Enjoy the day all. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 10-07-2025 Morning everyone Gloomy out but not raining at the mo. I used to do the same KM.. no sense just sitting waiting when you can lighten the load for the workers eh. And its normal stuff to do. Every time I have left Hospital I have stripped the bed and made sure everything is tidy. Just cant help it lol.. It took me a while to get used to eating what I wanted, but I do miss cooking things I made for MrP that I dont eat. I always knew that would be a problem, which is part of the reason I carried on taking food to the rest home lol. Shopping today. A chance to stock up a bit for when Im not here. Madam is voicing her displeasure at not being able to go in the bedroom. Its a preventative measure, she would simply go under the bed and I couldn't leave until she deemed its time to come out. My passionfruit look a bit droopy, I must get some Epsom salts.. Possible a frost may have hit it I guess cos its out in the open. Stay warm and dry everyone RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-07-2025 The big pile of sand is now three buckets full and can be dumped into the bins next week. I've hosed off the tarp it was sitting on and put it over the gate to dry. Will fold it and put it away shortly. I've also weeded between the standard roses and have one garden to weed before the whole fenceline on both sides is 'done'. And I've 'found' (although I'm sure MrK knew it was there) some timber that will go nicely on a bench seat we have the frames for. We couldn't figure out what the Furry One has been barking at lately. Looked up from weeding and here's a pukeko strutting his stuff driving the Furry One nuts lol. It's breeding time and the males are scrapping for the ladies. They are still screeching during the night as well. Just as well we all love them on this road lol. Am thinking a garden may just be extended, the curves don't look right... hmmm...oh wait... Litchfield Angel may just fit there nicely too. Now that's a bonus ![]() RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 10-07-2025 Been here 2.5 months and today is the first day I got wet bringing in the shopping. That's the only thing I miss about the other place. Being able to get the groceries out in the garage without getting wet. Not that I miss the annoying electric door. That was more moody than MrP on a bad day lol Hunnie I hope you are enjoying your books and recovering well. I should be able to stay home and dry for the next week I reckon.. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-07-2025 Surely, we must be running out of appliances that go bang by now. The microwave has died. MrK will be coming home tomorrow, his INR has finally hit the jackpot. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 10-07-2025 That's good news, KM - he'll be pleased to be home at last. Sunny at last here but still too wet to do much more than have another bash at the ivy...with 'help' from Madame le Cat dammit. Then later,I came in & decided to sort out what xmas gifts I've got so far. Apparently that also required her supervision... RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 10-07-2025 Yay! Well, two days into this bug and I just ate a piece of toast and it stayed put, so I'm guessing it's on the way out, though my lungs are still very squeaky and breathing is a bit compromised. Ticks all the boxes for actual covid so I am glad I am fully vaxed, and hoping with all digits crossed this is the last trial for the season. Pay back for all those years with not even a sniffle I guess, but with back playing up and hot water cylinders going kaput I have had quite enough. You and me both km... Next week I am buying myself some flowers. I have earned it, lol. Though they might come in a pot, my gardening instincts always rule! |
