I think it is their cheapest monthly option, with carryover data which mounts up in my case rather too well. Unlimited phone and texts, covers Oz, and the data allowance fits my occasional needs. It is perfect for this smartfone phobe, lol...

Thanks Hunni..

I might splash out on the $13 plan. Will need to get a 2 degrees sim card. Ill have to take my phone number with me , I've had it since the mid 90s lol

And cheaper than Skinnys cheapest deal too.. I was with 2 degrees many years ago.

I know I have one friend on 2 degrees, but there may be more lol. You simply cant tell by numbers these days

Glad they are sorting it out for you Kiwimade. While MrP could stand showering him wasn't too bad, but when he had to sit it meant too much bending over for my bones and hamstrings.

It also puts you back in the role of being the wife not the carer.

Ive done about 3 hours on the picture this morning. I should be halfway tonight. doing the dark colours through the day and lighter ones at night.   Its funny but when your doing them I find I dont take much notice of what Im actually painting.

i was getting my lunch and happened to see it out the corner of my eye, to discover there is a butterfly that I had done, and didnt know I had.

Time for my other games till its time to cook dinner

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 16-07-2025

morning ladies Smile We had some heavy rain overnight and it looks like more is to come.

I like the picture of the ostriches you are working on, popeye Smile Quirky and fun.

Mr K needs another blood test so it will be a trip into town later. I forgot to buy wild bird seed for the bird puddings yesterday so will buy some then. The birds sit at the bird feeder, stare, or more likely glare lol, into the house. I can take a hint Tongue

While at the supermarket, I spotted some venison mince. Much cheaper than other mince and less fatty so a win-win for us. We've had farmed venison before, nothing like wild venison, but it should make a yummy mince chow mien for dinner.

The Furry One has 'found' a favourite spot on the bed during the night and it's right in the middle where I sleep. My back feels creaky, so this is going to have to change. Typical Jack Russell lol.

When the weather clears up this afternoon (notice I'm trying to be positive Tongue), I'll weed a bit more. I really need a good fine, still, day to finish pruning the roses. At least with all this rain, the weeds are easy to pull.

Time to face the day Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 16-07-2025

Good morning.

It's sunny but quite a cold wind. It will need to warm up to get out for a spot of weeding later.

Out and about yesterday with groceries and errands so a stay at home today.  2nd vest to try and get finished for GD's birthday ... bright mauve, her pick.

What a price meat is ... I spend ages deciding what to buy! Meatless meals are frequent these days.

Better get the washing out while I can.

Enjoy the day.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 16-07-2025

Afternoon everyone lol... Not quite but for me it is.

The sun was here a few minutes ago but someone stole it.

Yeah Kiwimade I love the Ostriches, I will seal it and paint the border later in the week.

I am about 2/3rds through Gayles sunflowers. Should be able to finish it today / tonight.

So far the accident that killed 3 here yesterday, it was on the news, is none of my people. I do know it was an adult and two kids. Its a road that people use to race on, speed on and generally be dicks on. It happened at 3pm and I know it was heavy wind driven rain, I heard the chopper but they were all dead. If I had to assume anything Id say they could have been on the way to pick up other kids from school.

Games and Painting today. I have washing on but that can go in the dryer early in the evening and I can steal the heat.

Have a good day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 16-07-2025

Morning all
Sunny got the merino on the line

Dropped DH into city, did quick top up grocery shop in unfamiliar  shop, met DS in carpark looked after DGD2 while he had a scan of injured calf muscle. DGD2 didn't want to get out of the car so naughty nana  gave her Rainbow brite to watch on my phone saved further melt down.
Have dropped groceries home having quick cuppa before I leave for podiatrist  appointment.

DD and DGD1 coming for dinner so have bolar roast in slow cooker meat sitting on bed of onions and sprinkled with packet onion soup. No liquid added but there will be a delicious gravy  when it is cooked.
The bolar roast was half price so we grabbed it @ $16 will be enough for 6 serves.
Going to experiment  and make chocolate  mousse  using packet Hansells chocolate  mousse  and coconut milk. DGD1 seems to be reacting to dairy  so worth a try.

Enjoy your day

I gave up red meat some years ago, & after trying various kinds of sausages finally found some i like, Quorn. Slighty small but I like them & am about to try Quorn mince - have had it before but this time will try their meatball recipe once I get time.

Sunny here so did washing, & was hanging it out when I noticed the bird balls were empty so went in & made another two. Was hanging them out when I noticed that dead branch on the peach tree I've been meaning to take off, so got the saw & ladder & managed to get that off.
While I was picking up the branch, I noticed the spinach I planted last year coming up again so I weeded that after putting away the ladder. And while weeding the spinach patch I noticed some ivy trying to sneak onto the fence so got the secataurs & had a bash at that while I was there.

Then I went inside before I spotted anything else...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 16-07-2025

lol Lilith, I also do that. One thing always leads to another. A bit of the garden weeded, and Getrude Jeckyl pruned. Sadly, she will have to be cut right back when the fence is repaired.

MrK's shower is booked for this afternoon, and he's had his blood test. While we were out, the lawn mowing people came. I said to MrK before we left, I'll move my gardening stuff off the lawn just in case they rock up while we are away and bingo! lol

It was a mum and two kids who died in that accident, popeye Sad So many accidents. A car ended up upside down on the Kaimais yesterday with only ponga trees supporting it above water. So scary.

Going to have an earlyish lunch, think I have earned it this morning Tongue

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 16-07-2025

Doing dishes and noticed my neighbour in dressing gown, looking miserable, with her DiL in tow, so popped out to check. She was the one who took me down to the library and supermarket last week when the scoot got a flat, and my nose got the sniffles... She has the bug, poor woman. I felt quite guilty, I should have masked up...
Be wary, people. It is really going round, and round, and round...

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 16-07-2025

Yeah I heard last night it was a Mum and two young ones Kiwimade.

Right at school time so it makes me wonder if she was going to pick up older ones.

The local Fb boards really have pulled together and god help you if you make anything even slightly resembling a bad comment. They are being jumped on quickly.

Apparently that road is very Mossy at the mo too which wouldn't have helped any.

The "Body" of water is the drains that run both sides of the road.

Ohh Hunni probably not your fault, bugs are very easy to find these days.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 16-07-2025

HMMMM well that didnt make sense.

There were 3 in the Car.. the Niece was Driving but the ages of two of them were 5 and 7... was a kid driving?

They are all islanders going by their names.

Its a bitch of a road

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 16-07-2025

I still feel guilty though.

But the scoot is fixed, and will be back later this week. My freedom restored...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 18-07-2025

morning ladies Smile Looks like we're in for a wet day again, bring on the sunshine Smile

It was an early start for us yesterday to find a car park at Waikato Hospital. It was worth the effort as we found a disabled park right by the door and no need for lifts. And to top it off, we had good news. MrK is on the waiting list for a hip replacement pending approval from the anesthetist. They will be in touch shortly. We are hoping he will be towards the top of the list. And we now have home help to help with bathing. The ladies will also clean the bathroom, loo and change the sheets on the bed. I've never had someone else do this so it will be odd. But must admit, it takes a load off my shoulders.

MrK needs another blood test today, one for his hip and another INR. Speaking of hips, the nurse who gave him the envelope full of information, told him the blood people like 'old hips' and could they please have his if it fits their criteria. They take all the goodies they need from it and use it. We're all in for recycling lol and also want to donate our body bits when we die so it was a no brainer for MrK to say yes. There was some teasing and banter about what he was going to do with it if he kept it, put it on his bedside table? lol Tongue

I'll do vacuming and other bits of housework this morning and if the weather clears, a bit more weeding and rose pruning. And later on, work on the seahorse a bit more. There were quite a few ladies crocheting and knitting while waiting for their appointments, yesterday. Smile

Coffee's finished, might make a start on the day.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 18-07-2025

First hip I donated, but this last time I wasn't asked. When I mentioned it on op day I was told that needed to be arranged much earlier and couldn't be done this late... Which was a bit weird I thought. I think someone stuffed up. Having been a lifelong blood donor, like you guys I am into that bit of easy generosity.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 18-07-2025

Morning everyone

Had a very late morning, so after getting up to put a parcel out I went back to sleep.

The painting is done, so Ill seal and paint the edges before Thursday.

Wow I didn't know they used old bones for things. Id have let them have mine. I think Mine is still in a drawer from the move lol. We too would have let them use our body parts.

Im going to sort out my internet today and talk to companies about their deals..

I will pop up the road tomorrow, hopefully it will be fine, a dream told me I need to buy lotto. And Ill get a potato bake sachet or few as well.

Pak and Save have a new way of remedying their faults. I picked up a 2.5 kilo bag of spuds marked down from $6-50 to $3-50. Unfortunately it scanned the full priced price. So they refunded me that full amount and then gave me the potatoes as well...
Bet it in response to their mess they have with the courts.

But I wasn't saying no lol. Also got a bag with 6 kumara, only one was soft, for $2.

Hope your new K9 is awesome Mica, enjoy

Have a good day all

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 18-07-2025

Woolworths have had that policy for yonks. Bought a watermelon once that was a dud, they refunded and gave me another one.

Can't wait to see pics of your new dog, Mica... hint... hint lol. I hope he settles well. I have no doubt the cat will sort things out promptly Tongue
