Lilith, I think the evil bit is right on the button.  Yes, landlords need to make a profit and yes, rates, insurance etc are going up in price.  But rents also have to be fair.

Doctor said my blood pressure is up but isn't going to worry about it seeing as she saw how stressed I was over MrK.  And I can keep going with the diabetic meds for my heart.

Another corner of the garden has been weeded and surprise, surprise, mrK asked if I still hated a particular shrub and would I mind cutting it out.  That was a very happy yes and no, I wouldn't mind at all, from me.  So, one cabbage tree and one awful shrub (the leaves won't even rot down in compost) to go.  Only three quarters of one fenceline to weed and the garden is ready to face spring.

Well, I'm glad it isn't just me. I'd like to see us in the future, try to encourage the better side of human nature rather than the worst.  Maybe one of these days..

Did dreaded shopping, took Madme le Dog for her walk & then got a spurt of energy so pruned the rose & then transplanted a few more violets, having first dug out more of those blardy primroses & filled the green bin, so now I'm knackered & not doing anything more today...apparently I'm not 25 any more. That looks stunning - love it! Well I would, what with purple being my favourite colour. Wink

Oh Hunnie I Absolutely Love it.. Purple is not my first choice, but I do have some purple items.

That is going to go down wonderfully...

Ill be having some pudding later.. Need to get up shortly and put the chicken in. Since I had a late lunch, dinner will be later than normal.

I could be very tempted to put the chicken in the fridge and have the last two scones, and then the pudding..

Yes I think that will work well, and there will be enough pudding left over for tomorrow.

It feels weird not making a cake for Gayle, but I asked her what she would like..

I better get up and do that painting tho

Lilith do you shop every day?  I know some who do, I like to avoid the shop as long as I can lol... Mind you that means lugging in too much at one time.

Ive cut my pepsi consumption down Yayay but replaced with bottled water so no relief from the bottles

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 22-07-2025

No, I shop once a week, with the big pantry shop once a fortnight. I am not a fan of shopping, unless it is for pretties online, lol...

Mostly just once a week, but if I can't fit it all on the bike  or I forget something then sometimes another day as well.

Thing is they have their gold card special day once a week at Woolies so worth doing the bulk of it then.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 23-07-2025

morning ladies Smile Only a light frost this morning, or maybe I'm just toughening up lol.

I love the coat, OHH Smile Your friends will be surprised when you take it off lol.

Ozzy Osbourne has passed away. I've always loved Black Sabbath, might dig out his music and have a Sabbath Day at some stage Tongue

More weeding today and the plan is to finish along the last fenceline and pick up the piles of weeds I have everywhere. Then I can dig out the tiger lilies and replant them away from the fence. One wheelie bin is already full of weeds and rose prunings. The native buttercup I thought was lost is going nuts. Can't wait to see it flowering.

The 'piddlers' for the car windscreen emptied yesterday so I refilled it and checked the oil and water while I was at it. Simple stuff but needs to be done every now and then.

MrK's home help will be here soon, better get cracking Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 23-07-2025

Morning all
A good frost here   going to be lovely sunnynwinters day

Been gym finishing breakfast
Got fabric  out for newxquilt yesterday but for some reason couldn't  bring myself to start slicing. Woke in wee hours and formulated  another cunning quilt plan so will need to dive into the fabric stash yet again. 60l containers full of fabric are not light the heft around.

Other than a bit housework and hanging outvthe woollies once they are finished washing I can please myself

Enjoy your coffee and cake OHH

Have fun day

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-07-2025

Morning everyone

Chilly but not as heavy frost today.

I was never into Black sabbath music etc. But I did enjoy Ozzys humour on the show with Sharon and Jack and the ufo's ghosts etc. Finally at peace but probably organizing a party where ever he has gone to.

Gayle is coming for a cuppa this morning. She is 60 now.. But we are still as nutty as when we were at school.

I got the pictures finished thank goodness. Im no painter lol.

Enjoying working on the stained glass window , such pretty colours with the black, blue and purple borders looks good.

I understand now why my mother disliked putting groceries away. It was good when I just drove into the house, but having to carry bottles from the car up a wee hill into the house is challenging, but necessary lol

Yesterday I saw a post on FB of Cobb n Co.. gosh they were a nice simple place to eat. Had my 21st birthday dinner there. Just a close group of friends.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 23-07-2025

Good morning.

Cold start but the sun is a promising sign.

Doesn't it finish a coat off nicely to have the inside looking good as well  Smile

How is your new k9 fitting into your lives Mica? I hope he and the feline are becoming tolerant of each other.

Good to have home help KM ... I hope Mr K is accepting of them ... both my father and FIL weren't .... unfortunately for everyone else!

Corned beef on in the slow cooker, so will make a trip to the library soon.

Enjoy the day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-07-2025

I was planning a bit of corned beef extravagance, but the promised power bill offset has not been paid as promised, so I am cross, and comfort eating peanut butter on toast.
Buggeration, lol.

RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 23-07-2025

Lol, I bought my piece on special so convinced myself that offset the cost of cooking it.  A good "stretch it out food" ... should last at least 3 meals for 2 of us plus some on DH sammies.

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-07-2025

Exactly! It's like doing a roast, expensive but in the long run...

Mr K has good taste. Wink

I have quite a long list of songs for mine...I only hope I'm somewhere where I can see the reaction to some of them..

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-07-2025

One of my eldest brothers favourite sings was Split Enz Six months in a Leaky boat.

Sadly my mother wouldn't permit me to include it in the music for his memorial.. So I put other Split Enz ones and bohemian Rhapsody cos he Loved Queen too

His Navy mate who attended in his uniform ( YUMMM) lol looked straight at me and said you did the Music and you got it bang on lol.. Ill never forget that

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-07-2025

The coat got several rounds of applause when I took it off...

I might be slightly regretting not stitching it to the outside, lol.

Could move it over summer Hunni.

Keep everyone on their toes

morning ladies Smile Another frosty morning, love it!

That was the first thing I thought too, popeye. Move it to the outside, OHH lol.

Once the frost has lifted, I'll be moving the lilies away from the fence. Fingers crossed I don't stab too many with the fork. And the piles of weeds need dumping into the bins. We also have to go into town as MrK needs another blood test. You could play join the dots with all the wee bruises from these tests lol.

I might take my embroidery outside this afternoon, it was lovely sitting in the sun yesterday Smile

I'm ready (kinda) to face the day Smile
