Wow, the personal care assessment was over two hours. But he has it now for a year with a review in Feb. Phew, such a relief to have it done and dusted.

Yep I always tell people who get kittens to handle their babies paws early.

I've not hurt any that I recall, Bob the previous to Missy didn't like having his claws done but I still managed to do it. Funny that Missy decided she likes to play with the clippers when done.

Oddly her claws and MrP's used to need trimming at about the same time lol

Madam saw the Black and white cat that cuts through the property and collided with the venetian blind in the kitchen ... so there is no way I could get a new baby while she is still with me. I wouldn't do that to her.  Shes more Mummys girl than any I have had.

Probably cos shes been an indoor cat from day one.

Its hard eh, did they make him show them what he can and cannot do KM?

Glad you have it tho cos it helps you stay the wife not the carer and that is important.

Only just realised that its FIFTY YEARS since Dark side of the moon was released! I have no clue where that 50 years went...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 25-08-2025

No, she didn't but it's pretty obvious how disabled he is.

lmao Lilith, and I think Springsteen's 'Born in the USA' hit 40 years last year. I remember when that Pink Floyd album came out. My friend's sister had it and we loved it. Still love Pink Floyd. Time sure flies.

I KNOW! I've been in shock since I saw that - where the hell did that go...last time I looked, I was thirtybloodyfive & now I'm seventyfreakingsix!

I suspect we somehow strayed into some type of time warp thingy... Big Grin Rolleyes

It reminded me of that other one of theirs - naturally can't remember the title now i'm trying - & we were living in the commune which had a tiny living room so the stereo was in there, & speakers were in the kitchen/dining room which was twice the size. Someone had got the record & put it on...all went well until it came to that part where it did this weird noise & then goes quiet - there was a massive galloping rush into the living room, everyone sure the record player had somehow fallen down.

Nope, just a sound effect & then it kept going... Big Grin Big Grin

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 25-08-2025

Im only 60 and I remember it coming out.

I suspect it was around the time my sister was still living at home, or possibly my brother. But he didn't have a stereo. My sister did.
I remember after one "Wonderful" NOT night with the Neighbours having a domestic my sister sat the speakers of her stereo on our windowsill and put Bridge over troubled Waters on VERY Loud. He was a commercial fisherman who got home drunk and all the ungodly hours you could have.. they kept it down after that.. I should probably add it was only about 7am when she did it lol

Heaps came out when I was at college but "Another brick in the wall" and some of the Police ones I did like. Otherwise I like Old music compared to my peers.

Like I still get glum thinking about Carlos from Il Diva passing during Covid ...

Finally found some passable sausages. Many have so many different flavours that I wont try them and I was put off hellers for so long cos I kept being sick after eating them. But I got a pack of pork ones yesterday, they had been marked down , but there were 16 for $10. So 8 meals.. And I enjoyed them... Bring on the Toad in the hole lol..

Chill Blains suck, today was one of the first days without my gloves and my hands are nice and warm and they are itching like crazy... Need to google some remedies

Ohh Calamine Lotion.. I have that.. yay but Ill will resist moving the Madam she will be up eating soon...

morning ladies Smile The rain clouds are back. But it is warmer thank goodness. Our son has the same high and low temperatures in Perth as us lol. We told him he might as well be back home Tongue

Loads of great albums came out 50 years ago. It was a great era, music wise. It could have been 'The Wall' or 'Wish You Were Here' you were thinking of Lilith.

Supermarket for me today and I'll pop into Spotlight. Maybe they will have the thread I'm looking for.

I think MrK had another wake up call with the nurse yesterday when she asked me to list everything I do. He suggested after the nurse had gone he could manage the vegie garden. I also suspect my threat of random planting them and no nice neat straight rows was more than he could bear lol.

Time to face the day Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 26-08-2025

Ahhh but random planting is good for pest control. The poor butterflies get confused...

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 26-08-2025

Morning all
Foggy start which is burning off now.

The vision of wonky vege lines amused me.

Gripe for the day tubes that you can't get the stuff out of despite using tube squeezer thingy and when you cut the dang thing open there is heaps of product that dries out overnight. Its so wasteful

Nice day so we going road trip to Wairarapa  will have wonder around Greytown. Taking the k9 so willmhave to find a nice walk somewhere as well.

Enjoy your day

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 26-08-2025

Morning everyone.

the sun is up its chilly but not freezing.

Mica fold the end over and put a peg or bulldog clip on it. Or what I used to do is cut the tube a way down. put any from the top into the bottom piece then slide the top back onto it. You may have to have a wee kink in the bottom bit but it keeps its safe.

Both my stepfather and MrP like straight rows. I was as straight as I could manage but didn't care if it was a bit messy.

Today Im cutting the mats for the bingo cards, its hard watching and I do it myself, arthritic fingers trying to keep the cards from sliding on the table when putting the discs from , umm what game are they from the flat coloured discs, so I got some non slip stuff to sit the cards on. My donation to the Lions where we have it. And light enough they can be stored with the rest of the stuff so not forgotten by anyone.

I must also dig out a cushion for my chair, cos their chairs are hard on the butt..lol

Madams tummy has just got the better of her, just sauntered in from the bedroom and sun, to eat her breakfast.

The calamine lotion is helping but looks really attractive, NOT lol.. but comfort before looks.. In one way at least if it is cold on Friday I can hide it with gloves .

Ill also write down the Holsts books I have, dragging my phone out is dumb when I will have the book out.

Have a fab day everyone

Bingo - yep, Wish you were here! Wink

There was so much good music back then, The Beatles were more or less the first (if we don't count Bill Haley & one or two other Americans) & then it was everywhere; The Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin & all those others.

But looking back the music played on radio until then was just awful & it might be difficult for those who didn't live through it to really comprehend the impact of what was called 'The British invasion' in the States.

Really awful stuff like Perry Como, Doris Day, Mitch Miller & the singalong gang! Cringeworthy..

Ummmm hang on... cringeworthy? Jazz was never cringeworthy. Sinatra and co were never cringeworthy. You cannot just write off other musical geniuses and genres because they weren't rock...

RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 26-08-2025

No idea where the day went. Did dreaded groceries, came home, took Madame le Dog for her walk then did a wee bit of digging in the garden. Still very wet so didnt do much of it, came in & mucked about with a couple of paintings & the next thing you know its 3pm...
