RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 22-09-2025

Morning everyone

Yep no moon viewing today.

I do remember seeing on when we came back to Waiuku. The first house we were in so between 2004 and 2018.

Not a sun or Moon event but the Tornado that helped the tree drop and smash the fence down was cool.. But what I Do remember vividly was when we got all the smoke from the Aussie fires and the sky was Orange for quite a while.

I remember seeing the last Hayleys commit. I was 21 lol.. We stood outside talking to neighbours. It was fun.

Games and painting today. After I phone Winz and get them to call back. No into waiting for hours on the phone lol.

Dianne finished her big multi coloured picture for her Daughter in law, its beautiful. Not sure if I can upload it to the computer and then hopefully show you. Its probably the most vibrant one she has done. We are both working on Daffodils at the mo. hers is a vaseful to give to the Nurses that are doing her chemo. Then she is doing a hunting and fishing one for their hunting friend. I haven't seen that one yet. But some come with white paper so you dont see it until you get into it.

Why do people get stressed about school holidays? I dont think my mother did. But then I guess we weren't sitting at home all day. One thing she did do was save the kids games out of old magazines that used to go around everyone. so if it was wet we have those, board games etc.

Mind you I suppose so many have to work to pay mortgages. But people know the holidays are coming. Why stress.

Have a fab day everyone

Perhaps mr K's leg may improve with time, KM, I hope so.

Small disaster earlier, was just working on a painting while having a cuppa (Ginger, lemon & green tea) when Madame le Dog barked really loudly, gave me a fright & I knocked over the tea!
Which went everywhere - thankfully managed to stop it before it reached the edge of the desk because there are cords & plugs down there. There may have been quite a lot of swearing involved & Madame le Dog knows she's in the dogbox. Didn't see what set her off but presumably another dog went past, it sounded like that sort of bark.
That'll teach me to have a drink sitting on the desk when I'm on the computer.

Bet it won't,though...

Yep zqwerty... and yep Lilith Crankles Epstein is good

And someone else I dont get.. how could you "Forgive" someone not many days out, of them shooting your husband.

Im simply dont get it.. I will never forgive the idiot that ran my Sister over. But I also dont let it affect me in any way cos she would tell me off if she could.

5 colours to go on my daffodils. So should be done tomorrow.

Im going with Dianne on Thursday, both her hubby and Son cant get off work, to an appointment about her radiation.  I said its always handy to have a second set of ears and Im always happy to be with her... She said I owe you, I said your already paid in full just by being my Sister.

Madam was a snarly tart this morning. But has toned it down some this afternoon. I guess we all have good and bad days, but I wasnt enjoying being bitten for nothing.

Scrabble now before my crime shows.   There was one last week, an American who doesn't even feature in either of my Crime books about real cases, yet they said he possibly killed over 100 people..

Maybe I need a more updated book or two...

morning ladies Smile Rain, rain and more rain today by the looks of it.

I love that meme, zquerty lol. If you don't mind, I might steal it. I see the Orange Tosspot is about to announce they have 'discovered' the 'cause' of Autism. This idiot has no shame. Narcissistic pr***. The wife of that right wing prat should win the Academy Award for her acting. She played the Leading Lady to a 't'.

Grocery shopping today, we miss having fruit in the fruit bowl so time for a top up. MrK was never big on eating fruit until the last few years and now he's thoroughly enjoying it. It could be an 'I-told-you-so' moment for me lol. I need some more thread so a quick Tongue visit to Spotlight is in order too.

My sister-in-law phoned yesterday to say Wairere Garden Center is under new management and we 'must go' and check out the new plants they have in. She is such an enabler lol. But I love her for it lol. To be fair there are a couple of plants I would like for the garden I haven't found here.

Better get moving, I plan to leave early to avoid the school holiday crowds at the supermarket and I need to help MrK with getting dressed before I go.

Have a good one Smile

Morning all
Still raining

Sounds like you making progress on your painting Popeye

DGS and I  had a lovely time in the city despite  getting totally drenched twice once leaving Wellington maritime  museum to get lunch a MacD and second on way back to train station we were 2 drowned rats.  He had a great time choosing  2 books to buy at Whitcoulls and a small present for his little sister.  DIL collected us from train station as it was still bucketing down so much for the weather forecast  predicting no rain in the afternoon. Looks like we got rain every day this week. Of course its school holidays.

DH birthday today so family eating out at local Thai for dinner tonight. I will spend time in sewing cave will make up the fabric bought for me to make her a dress.
Our feline been taking lessons from the furry one KM  she poked her nose out the range slider nope its wet out there then immediately  demanded access to garage to poke her head out her cat door nope wet there too. Our pets are entertaining.

Enjoy your day

Morning everyone

Wet but not cold.

Im the same KM re the fruit. Only I keep my apples and bananas in the fridge. I have enough for today. Im also nearly out of cheese, but Im also very good at self denial, so Ill see how I go. lol.

Madam is moping, lacking the sun.

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 23-09-2025

Grocery delivery this afternoon, probably a highlight of the day looking out there. But I have been sensible and found a straw sun hat online that just might fit and at a reasonable price, so we shall see. My nose cannot take much more burning, I am starting to look as though I live on scotch. I am also looking forward to daylight saving, my body clock will be reset back to normal, I just hope it does the same for the Tatt. She seems to think a 4am wake up visit is her responsibility. Can't quite work out if it's her tummy calling, or if she is checking to see if I am still alive...

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 23-09-2025

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 23-09-2025

Yippeeee I got a text with an appointment for the Pre -Op for my tummy surgery.. YAYAYAY.

A busy two weeks as I with Dianne this Thursday for her radiation chat and then my Diabetes eye check on Friday.

Then Next week We will go to my pre-op check on Thursday and then Im going to her Chemo on Friday.

Hopefully the strikes wont hold things up..

Aunty Erin has been engaged to look after Madam and Im thinking I might see if I can park my car at Dianne's , incase Im in for an extended stay, like my knee, but they will start it and keep the battery up. So I dont have a repeat of Last year.

We all are certainly giving the medical services a run for their money...

Still have the gastro people hassling me. So I told them I dont wish for any more contact until I have spoken to my Dr as to why he wants the tests done. Then I will tell him Thanks but no Thanks.. not putting myself at risk of internal bleeding while on two blood thinners and while my tummy is mending from surgery cos I sure as h*ll wont be giving myself injections in a large wound.

Finished my picture and I love it. Very pleased with it. Ill do photos eventually.

Its been raining most of the day but not cold

Jimmy Kimmel Is back on TV as soon as tomorrow.. Just on the news

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 24-09-2025

morning ladies Smile Looks like the clothes drier is going to be busy today.

Oh wow, that's awesome, popeye Smile You've waited quite a while for this to happen.

If the weather clears, I might weed a bit more. The soil is warming up and it's easy to pull weeds when the ground is wet. The yellow magnolia has two more buds opening Big Grin Big Grin MrK's PC comes sometime this morning so other than an appointment in town later on for MrK, we're staying put today. School holidays make it tricky for her, so we just go with the flow.

This afternoon I'll potter with this cross stitch, I've almost finished what I unpicked the other day. I might even semi prepare another embroidery piece to work on in between. Another go at designing the family tree might work. And maybe use the silk threads coming from our son along with my mother-in-law's vintage threads.

Pretty ordinary day for us. Once the weather clears and the school holidays are over, we'll be out and about more.

Enjoy your day Smile

RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 24-09-2025

Washing machine playing her tune time to put woollies on the line

Enjoy your day

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-09-2025

Morning everyone

Wet again but not cold.

I think that would be soo cool KM having the threads from your Sons holiday and your Mother in law. A family piece that can go down the generations, and I know your Daughter stitches too, maybe M will too.

I am wrapped at being in the system and hopefully not too far away from the surgery. It will be life changing for me.

Going to keep Dianne and I busy between our appointments thats for sure. And Gayle is sick at the mo, they nearly didn't send her home from Dialysis yesterday. She gets terrible clogged lungs through winter, this lot is late .

Will have to op up the road today, Ive run out of cheese.. Had I not had cheese in potato and then with my salad I would have enough lol..

Ill put my voting papers in too today. To be honest its the first time I have voted in the local body elections.. And I really dont know why lol.
But Ive been chatting with one of our people standing and he is hopefully going to be able to get things done. Especially Waiuku's top 3 problems are high on his agenda.. our Roads, the Pool and the Home that MrP was in..

Its much like Mangakino here. Being on the fringe of Taupo, they got all the money spent there. They raised the funds for their own indoor pool and gym. We are a lot bigger and could do it too. All ours goes to Pukekohe. They have two heated indoor pools in Pukekohe we Need one.. And Our rest home is important. The land was donated, the money raised in Waiuku for Waiuku and Auckland took the Money.

Di has said its a good idea to leave my car out there while Im in hospital. So Im glad thats sorted.

May kit up the Dragon today..

Have a fab day all

RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 24-09-2025

Woke up with a nasty headache so dealt to that and went back for another couple of hours, this time with a sleep mask, and that took care of it. Haven't had one of those for a while, thank heavens, though I used to get migraines regularly before menopause made me free of them. Weather looks a bit damp around the edges so it will be a quiet day in, no coffee and cake today, even our birds are hunkered down in the hedges, but there's something nice about a day indoors when the rain comes, and I have a good fantasy novel on the go so all is right with my world...

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 24-09-2025

Hope you are feeling better Hunnie.

Aren't Winz wonderful, you ask for a paper letter and they send an email..!!!! wasting days.. delaying things. I do wonder where they get some of their staff from. Especially since i said Multiple times I needed an actual letter

Vent over.

RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 25-09-2025

Morning everyone

Doesn't look too bad out there so far.

The difference between countries health care, My brother saw the Dr just after 5pm last night and they needed to do a brain scan, they did it last night too... Would take weeks here.

Checking to see if he had a stroke , he had a fall and isn't remembering things..

Off to the radiation appointment with Dianne today.. Apparently they do it in Auckland hospital, daily.. But we will find out if that is true. If it is she will hopefully stay up there, it would wear her out just travelling each day. Its a good hour in smooth traffic from here.

Have a fab day all.

RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 25-09-2025

morning ladies Smile The rain seems to be clearing, thank goodness. Might even give the washing line a whirl with the washing.

I have a small to-do list for today and that includes pulling the oven apart to clean. The glass in the door can be removed for cleaning and then slid back into place, click a couple of button thingies and bingo, done. Because I grill, rather than fry (grrr MrK lol), the oven door becomes quite grimy. We also have some egg cartons for my friend who has chooks. I give them to her empty and she returns them full Tongue A really good plan lol

The other night we had chook drumsticks for dinner and MrK decided he would eat with his dinner on a tray watching the telly. Why not, we're grown ups and who said we have to use the dining room table Big Grin The sofa he sits on has been raised to make it easier for him to get on and off. The absolute PERFECT height for the Furry One to see exactly what is on MrK's dinner plate as he puts it on his walker to get to his seat... I think you can guess what happened... As MrK trundled next to the sofa with his plate at eye level for the Furry One, the Furry One grabbed a chooky drum and took off outside. In a flash it was munched and enjoyed. He has never ever done that before lol. We were stunned lol. Couldn't really growl that much at the Furry One as chook is his favourite. We can leave any food out as a rule, and he would never touch it. I guess it was just too tempting.

Time to get cracking, the sooner I start on this oven the sooner it's done.

Enjoy your day Smile
