I don't understand what is so difficult about poaching an egg in simmering water in the time-honoured way.

From reading the article it seems that they have some strange reason to do away with the saucepan which I find hard to understand. Besides - as you say - what is so difficult about poaching an egg?

I am not a cook and have never wanted to be a cook which is one of the many reasons I married a good cook, but even I have no problem poaching an egg. What is so hard about that? Rolleyes

I'm really not sure why, but it seems that some things we take for granted are entirely unknown to some people in other parts of the world.
