From reading the article it seems that they have some strange reason to do away with the saucepan which I find hard to understand. Besides - as you say - what is so difficult about poaching an egg? I am not a cook and have never wanted to be a cook which is one of the many reasons I married a good cook, but even I have no problem poaching an egg.
