Driving in OZ - Galaxy01 - 27-01-2023

Do we need to get an International Driver License or our NZ License will be OK?

Planning a trip to Sydney in Mar.

Years ago a NZ was fine.

Word of warning, don't let the other half read maps -- miss the turnoff and you may have to go for miles to get back to where you wanted to be. Wink

We were fine driving in 2009 including signing up for a rental.

Navigation wise take your car GPS with you with a set of AU maps loaded. Just adhere to road rules including speed as the cops don't muck around and possibly as a result the standard of driver discipline is way higher than in NZ. Speed limits seem to change every 2 minutes, especially in urban areas, so be on your guard over this.
