Microsoft Defender - brucem - 19-06-2023 Recently I started getting, approximately daily, an email saying: Real-time protection was turned off on the Windows device Desktop ....... When I go to Defender I am told that the machine is protected, managed by Malwarebytes. Can I stop the notification from Microsoft? RE: Microsoft Defender - king1 - 19-06-2023 Seems to be a common issue if this thread is anything to go by https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/i-keep-getting-messages-the-real-time-defender-is/81d3b19f-6fa1-4f7c-96ec-82f4b5411284?page=1 Seems to be an issue when other AV software is in place (and presumably you are logged in to windows with a MS account as against a local account) . Not a lot of consensus on cause or fixing but I think the simplest solution is set-up a filter in your email to delete them automagically. Maybe try switching to a local account also... RE: Microsoft Defender - Wainuitech - 19-06-2023 Its because you are more than likely signed in to MS As King posted. Thats another reason I wont use ( or setup) a MS account, no need to tell them everything. Try reading the following, advises how to disable the emails https://www.windowscentral.com/how-manage-notifications-windows-security-features-windows-10 |
