And IPCC head says not to panic over a 1.5 degree rise which I agree with.

I guess you live in an area where 1.5 isn't a problem. Lucky you. Pity about everyone else.

Can't read - could you paraphrase?

The writer of that opinion piece is Owen Jennings is former National President of Federated Farmers and an ACT MP.

The issue is not so much with 1.5 degrees C per se, it's more about watching it coming and then seeing it disappearing in the rear view mirror without addressing the problem. At some point that will result in a planet that becomes hostile to human life.

Perhaps Jim Skea has somehow managed to entirely miss what's been happening to Europe this summer - not to mention Canada & north America.

Which would be quite a feat, given that it was the top news story for quite a while, but then large numbers of tourists as well as residents, needing to be evacuated from various places including some of the Greek islands would be unusual enough to warrant such attention.

Possibly Mr Skea was in a coma & unaware of current events at the time.

The current weather anomalies aren't restricted to the Northern Hemisphere either, Chile is presently experiencing a 100 F / 38 C heatwave, during their winter!

Good. You would rather have a far left biased article from our state sponsored media instead?
