To purchase a new Mobile from overseas? - jackford - 01-10-2023

Thinking to purchase a Doro 2660 4g ph unlocked

Spoke with 2degrees who informed that 3g options are shutting down late '25.

Didn't seem to have any negatives apart from the conectivity aspect.

WE had a Doro Ph up til early this year. said ph suited requirements plus was any easy great little ph,person needs neither data or text options.

Currently using a Nokia Flip which @ best could be described as unrelliable.

Have searched within NZ can't find any, so seems overseas is the only option.

Possibly the oversea pin plug [ for charger] may not fit NZ requirements, guess this could be bypassed by the purchase say on Trade Me of a suitable plug connection.

Opinions/views ? Thx

Just make sure it does NZ VoLTE that will be the only voice component of calls after 3G shutdown. I personally wouldn't bother buying a cheap phone overseas these days. Doro used to be when sold here an El Cheapo brand name.
