Win11 Restarting by itself. - Galaxy01 - 30-11-2023 My old PC has developed a problem: it restarts by itself. Happened two times since this morning. First time was when it woke up from 'sleep', after using it for about 5 mins, it restarted by itself. 2nd time, just a few mins ago, it did the same. RE: Win11 Restarting by itself. - zqwerty - 30-11-2023 If it was my computer, and YOU really need to be sure you know what you are doing, I would re-seat the R.A.M. just as a sensible first guess at the problem. RE: Win11 Restarting by itself. - king1 - 30-11-2023 Graphics related according to here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/bug-check-0x116---video-tdr-failure Reseating Memory may help, but could be a driver issue, you could try updating the graphics drivers from manufacturer support site Could also be a failing or bad graphics chip, graphics memory if seperate card or memory modules... Start with the drivers... I sometimes use https://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed which analyses the crashdumps and sometimes helps to narrow down the faulty hardware/software... RE: Win11 Restarting by itself. - Galaxy01 - 30-11-2023 Just completed graphic card update. See how it goes. Disable the automatic reboot. Then you can actually see the STOP error it produces. Try safe mode first. However: The error code 0x00000116 is often caused by a misbehaved graphics card driver on your computer. Maybe the driver. RE: Win11 Restarting by itself. - Galaxy01 - 01-12-2023 I think the problem has been fixed. Since I updated the video driver yesterday afternoon, the computer is now very stable, no more restarting... Thank you all for the suggestions. |
