Could be a good thing if it snowballs, might be enough to lead to Putins collapse.

I'd love to think so, but Putin has a strong grip on power there. Although even he can't live forever...

His popularity is weakening though, and this protest is in a region that was absorbed into Russia, so the locals have a huge resentment.
I dont think he can continue for much longer, but the main concern is what power grab replaces him.

Indeed; any replacement is likely to be even more ruthless, which can't possibly be good.
