Picture icons changed. - colpol - 29-02-2024
Win 11 Home.
As above in file explorer, all picture icons now show the application and not the image. Unable to make it show images. Dont know why it happened. Any suggestions welcome

few things it could be - this site pretty much covers the bases

either 1,2 or 3 are the likely culprits
6 and 7 are generic fixes

Did 1,2,3,5 and each time I checked and still the same so put it in the too hard basket. Today I saved a picture and went looking for it Found it as a thumbnail so had a rush of the brown stuff and opened an icon then hit save and it was back to an image so did the same with the rest. Took a while but all good now. Thank you
