Destiny leader 'stood down' - Lilith7 - 26-05-2024 After allegations of abuse Quote:https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/destiny-church-youth-group-leader-stood-down-police-investigation-under-way-into-allegations-of-sexual-abuse/TC46HOWEIJEE3PQXLQ5TOCSL2Y/ https://www.reddit.com/r/newzealand/comments/1bv6wvv/video_shows_victim_support_worker_bragging_about/ A victim support workers brags about smacking his kids. RE: Destiny leader 'stood down' - Oh_hunnihunni - 27-05-2024 Wow. I remember thinking that tvnz series Testify was awfully reminiscent of Destiny. And Arise for that matter. What is it about churches that seem to attract sexual predators, I know it is a power thing, but they do appear to exert some kind of attraction for these sick individuals. RE: Destiny leader 'stood down' - nzoomed - 27-05-2024 Well, i could see this coming a mile, no surprises here. Hopefully it puts the whole thing to bed for once, this sort of behaviour has been going on for far too long. (27-05-2024, 09:31 AM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: Wow. It appears that churches attract predators because up until fairly recently they have been able to get away with it there. Mostly because the churches cover it all up to prevent negative attention, well it actually does the opposite, if they come clean in the first place and dealt with it properly there would be no issues. RE: Destiny leader 'stood down' - Lilith7 - 27-05-2024 I wondered about Testify as well, & hoped that wasn't the case but apparently it was. Its an absolutely vile thing, to use such a position of trust to abuse vulnerable people. The catholic chuirch in particular has only recently admitted to the abuse which has been going on for deacdes, & perhaps centuries for all we know. And some people wonder why some of us steer well clear of organised religion. Still not a drag queen. Funny that. Isn't it though. I wonder how the drag queens those bigots stopped from reading books to kids in libraries are feeling; this should certainly help their case with luck. ![]() RE: Destiny leader 'stood down' - Agent_24 - 27-05-2024 (27-05-2024, 07:09 PM)Lilith7 Wrote:(27-05-2024, 06:41 PM)Agent_24 Wrote: Still not a drag queen. Funny that. I don't know, but anyone with a brain knows it's not the drag queens who are a threat to children. Look at https://www.reddit.com/r/StillNotADragQueen/ for example. The majority of the offenders in the articles collected here are religious leaders. Then it's teachers, sports coaches, etc. And yet it's always the religious ones who claim drag queens and the LGBT community are trying to harm children and 'sexualise' them. They project their own desires so hard that you can see the picture on the sky like a bat signal. Or perhaps a pedo-signal, in this case. If someone wants to protect their kids, the answer is to keep them away from church. That does seem to be the most likely way to avoid those sorts of abusers. They seem drawn to religion - any one will do apparently - as a means of abuding kids, which should deter anyone keen to join any church. Not one of them seems altogether trustworthy. |
