Intel CPU's crashing - nzoomed - 25-07-2024

There has been a bit of media attention recently on intel CPU's causing system crashes.

This video sheds some more light on the issue, doesnt look good for intel.

seems to be referencing desktop chips mainly?

I can't actually imagine the cost of replacement chips will be that huge for them, most cost will be in R&D I would think, but they can't expect the average owner to replace the CPU themselves, paying for them all to be replaced will be the biggy

Yeah, unexpected long term manufacturing f... ups caused by pushing design limits with software able to alter voltages on critical parts of a c.p.u, no fail-safe against critical parts of substrate getting too hot intermittently causing progressive failure of nano-transistors, my equipment is so old it won't bother me I don't think.
