fake listing - amrist - 30-08-2024 I bought on TM using PING on the 13th. Paid postage on the 17th and have been waiting since. I asked for tracking but no reply. The seller last logged on 17 JUNE. How can someone place a listing without logging in? The listing says, "from a pet free home". His account has a photo of a B/W cat.... Dunlop GCB95 Cry Baby Wah-Pedal | Trade Me Marketplace The 9th photo in the listing has a sticker price $219 on the box, which is an overseas price. The RockShop AKL price is NZ$299. It appears the pics are lifted from the net. I have placed dispute Res with TM to try get my money back Has anyone had experience with getting a PING refund. Will this take forever and what to expect? any advice, thanks Amy RE: fake listing - Oh_hunnihunni - 30-08-2024 Ping refunds are usually pretty fast, but do rely on TM making contact with the seller to confirm that your request is genuine. So that will be where the delay is. If they get no joy with seller explanation you should see a refund as soon as they establish the fact it was a scam. TM are pretty on the ball with Ping, so rest easy. RE: fake listing - harm_less - 30-08-2024 So far as the login reporting from Trade Me is concerned this doesn't include phone app login so if the listing was done by a phone there's your answer. That always used to be the case and if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me soon enough. RE: fake listing - king1 - 30-08-2024 how long has that product been around? I ask because I can't remember the last time i saw something priced with a pricing gun, just doesn't happen nowadays. I'm picking that was the price at the time it was bought, probably pre covid, or maybe from a second hand shop? Surely if you were going to do a fake listing you would do something a bit more universally desirable, like an iphone? Not sure about ping, someone else might answer that RE: fake listing - amrist - 30-08-2024 Thanks for replies. 12 photos for a second hand item is a bit much and YES a price sticker is a thing of the past...... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/music-instruments/instruments/guitar-bass/effects-units/listing/4886020832 TM are gonna have a hard time finding "Harry C Moore" RE: fake listing - king1 - 30-08-2024 (30-08-2024, 01:08 PM)amrist Wrote: Thanks for replies. 12 photos for a second hand item is a bit much he was address verified though wasn't he you could also try googling the email address and see what pops up... RE: fake listing - harm_less - 03-09-2024 (02-09-2024, 12:47 PM)amrist Wrote: Thanks for the replies.I've had similar situations where a Dispute report has automatically triggered a refund of the Trade Me fees for the listing and success fees. In these cases I have just walked away and kept the credit as I can't be arsed navigating through Trade Me's non-user friendly system. My gain their loss and I have no qualms about doing so as they just make it too difficult to correct their own error. RE: fake listing - Oh_hunnihunni - 04-09-2024 I had a ping trade fail at the weekend and seller processed a refund on Sunday. Still hasn't hit my bank. Funny how they can process debits immediately, but credits take days... |
