Disabled boy's life online emerges after his death - Lilith7 - 21-10-2024

This was a while back but was on tonight's news. A young man who had  Duchenne muscular dystrophy
spent much of his life online where he became a character called Lord Ibelin Redmoore, or sometimes, Jerome Walker. When some of the people who knew him through his gaming attended his funeral, his parents were stunned, but eventually, comforted.

I have said it before. But I'll say it again, the net extends the boundaries of small lives in wonderful ways.

And thst is a good thing.

I think that like everything, the net is a double edged sword, & we all too often hear about the damage it can do, so it was lovely to hear of this other, almost magical side for once.
The net world must have been a door into another existence for this young man.
