They thought they were taking us back to 1930's Germany but actually they've been taken back to 1870's France.

The watchwords that the insurance companies use are:

DELAY, DENY, DEFEND the last thing they want to do is pay out, they want the money for the share holders of the insurance companies

that is why he put the engravings on the shells of the cartridges one of which he did not fire because he had to clear a jam.

The rulers don't want this book in the hands of the working class.

The insurance companies did this during the Chch earthquakes and also in the recent flooding on the Coromandel coast, I believe some people on this site were affected by it.

Throwback to when the UnitedHealthCare (UHC) repeatedly denied a child's wheelchair.

Seriously 'Not medically neccessary' for a  child with cerebral palsy to have a wheelchair which isn't the plain, basic wheelchair but which actually help said child, making what must be a miserable existence slightly better?  Angry

There has to be a special kind of karma for people so blinded by greed that they can ignore the suffering of a child.

Perhaps insurance companies either need to stop pretending to help or do what they claim they do - & actually help.

Well there is special kind of karma and he just found out.

They think the suspect may have left by bus, heading to Atlanta.

I don't get this. There is never any excuse to kill someone like this. It's simply murder. I hope they catch this killer and put him before a jury.

This isn't karma. This is murder.

I don't think any of us would condone murder. You do however, have to wonder whether or not witholding medical care which leads only to death of a person isn't also a kind of murder.

RE: Health insurance boss murdered - zqwerty - 08-12-2024

Yes, Oh_hunnihunni you are correct, karma is the wrong word, perhaps retribution is closer to the correct one as well as murder.

(Retribution is the act of taking revenge. If you pull a prank on someone, expect retribution. Retribution comes from the Latin for giving back what's due, either reward or punishment.)

"Insurance is a numbers game that survives on risk factors and customers' fear."

Not anymore it isn't you just pay your compulsory fees and they now never give you anything back when you need it because it is going into the pockets of the shareholders and the massive pay of the C.E.O.'s of the Insurance companies.

RE: Health insurance boss murdered - Lilith7 - 09-12-2024

This murder seems to have awakened & made more public, the protests about their health system. Last July, there was a protest outside the headquarters of UnitedHealthCare in Minnesota, protesting about the firm's policies & denial of patient claims.

The CEO of a company doesn't deploy AI. Doesn't turn down claims. Doesn't make rude signs at claimant relatives. The CEO manages the directors and senior managers, and is ultimately responsible to the shareholders.

Killing him is a political assassination, a poltical statement, underlined by the grandstanding of the notations on the shells. It achieves nothing real in the battle against the privatised US health system. If anything it makes it even more resistant to change.

I'm not altogether sure on that; it has stirred up a lot of already existing resentment with their health system which may eventually force some change. Even a small window dressing type of change could eventually lead to bigger changes, although I agree that it was very much a political assassination.

They might do better to perhaps try approaching those shareholders very publicly.

I think though that maybe their entire system desperately needs a massive overhaul, but that seems unlikely while there's money to be made - even if it's from the suffering of others, some don't seem to mind.
