24h2 annoyance. - Bryan - 11-12-2024

I must say how very disappointed I am with Asus and Microsoft in not fixing the install problem that they have with some Asus MBs not being compliant with 24H2. I have installed 24h2 26100.2033 but anything from thereon is running into install problems at 38%, the system then posts a note that "something went wrong" and then reverts back. Wait for them to fix.

This release is so full of bugs, Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves. This release harks back to Windows 8 and the problems that release had. Surely you would think that they had learned their lesson from that debacle.

My opinion is that the Windows programs have become too big and there are too many fingers in the pie that do not relate in great detail with each other. I only hope they do something about it and soon.

If you got to the end of this rant, good for you. I can only hope that there might be others who have similar views.

I agree, Windows is a bloated, over-complicated mess these days.

The amount of disk space Windows 10 or 11 uses compared to alternatives, or previous versions, is astonishing.

And what exactly have they improved?
Nothing really, just added layers and layers of unnecessary junk.

Looks like MS and ASUS have got their act together. I have just had an MS message to say that they have an update for me to correct Windows file system errors and upgrade to the latest release of Win11 24H2 ver 26100.2605. Install went well, as expected, and system is fine.
