Remaining members of Bali 9 released - Lilith7 - 16-12-2024
The remaining five are back in Australia. Two were executed, one died of stomach cancer & another's sentence was commuted. At least the older members of their families will be able to see them again.

I don't agree with the death penalty but everyone has known about Thailand's drug trafficking laws and penalties since for ever - I remember it being discussed in our family when I was a kid... But good the remaining five have been released, twenty odd years is more than long enough.

Yes, they'd have to have been young & stupid to even think of doing such a thing, especially there.

Can't be any more clear than that.

Way more than enough, considering that in this country we release murderers in less time in many cases.
Still puts me off ever visiting that country, after the Schapelle Corby saga, I remember the hysteria in the weeks that followed with travellers shrinkwrapping their bags, installing padlocks, etc.
