Avoiding the collateral damage from goings on in the US political sphere is made more difficult with the global interconnectedness of the digital world.
It appears Musk is engineering some sort of digital coup for his orange buddy. The degree of digital influence Musk has, together with the other online oligarchs Trump has in tow, is something to be very wary of.

That's worrying. It could possibly cause chaos & perhaps could be used to control what now passes for govt there, even the entire population.
This might be a good time for Americans to head for Canada or Mexico if they're able to.
If this gets really nasty then it will be mostly poorer people who'll suffer.
