Chris Hipkins on Q&A - harm_less - 09-03-2025

Having just watched this mornings Q&A program it was a welcome change to see a politician actual answering the questions put to him. That would be in Chippy's case, which contrasts with the previous interview with Simeon Brown who seems to have adopted the repeating of pre-cooked statements instead of giving straight answers as has become the Luxon approach to interviewers. It also seems to demonstrate how a seasoned politician deals with the voting public compared to Luxon's 'CEO' background.

The last thing you need for a leader of and entire country is a "CEO" type, they are used to seeing the economy from the inside and to collecting, economizing, productivity, Trump is a good example of this, incapable of understanding that a countries economy is not run to save money it should be adding as much money into the economy as possible without causing inflation by activating businessmen into razing prices as soon as they realize the government is seeding the economy.

This is done by creating niches, (jobs) which people can take up and work within to earn money.

Any other policy will result in recession and depression as we are seeing here and will soon see in American.

It was great to listen to the Hipkins interview and to be reminded of how well he can think on his feet and maintain good humour. He was a good antidote to the dreadful Simeon Brown, with his slogans and his dogwhistling about the Māori and Pasifika population having a low engagement with bowel cancer screening and therefore not deserving the lower age threshold.

I'd like to see the leaders of every last party even very slightly left of centre make their top priority the dismantling of Neo Liberalism as swiftly as possible.

Aaaaand Now - watch our glorious govt scramble to:

A) Loudly pretend unconcern, or

B) Make a few not very important window dressing changes while holding forth loudly about how they 'listen to the people' & how very, very kind, considerate & generally wonderul they are... Rolleyes Rolleyes
