Free speech - Winston Peters - Outsider - 23-03-2025

Do we not believe in free speech in this country any more?
I'm talking about Winston Peters speech today. He has the right to be heard and I have the right to hear him.
Makes me sick, those hecklers.

I couldn't even listen to the news as it was all about them.
Don't they realise other people may want to hear what he has to say - even though I may not agree with it?
Keep the hecklers out and record the speech with only reporters present.

The hecklers have the right of free speech too.

If you really do want to know what Peters said Stuff has the entire speech.   It is pretty ridiculous, including a comical metaphor accusing Labour of adopting a "rissole of racism".

Well, you'll be really happy about him being determined to wipe out woke thinking in this country. Him and Seymour, same page it seems.

Although, I don't think he really has the faintest idea what woke thinking actually is.

just saw him on the news this morning, sounding more and more like Trump every week. Full of bluster...

Winston in blustering mode doesn't always mean making good sense.

It's typical of a certain kind of people to think that free speech only applies to them and those they support...

Yup. Trumpism is a contagious disease. Especially in the aged and infirm of mind, lol...

Oh count me in on the infirmity bit. Voluntary insanity is the only rational response to this crap...

And all this time, I thought I was only slightly weird... Rolleyes Big Grin Big Grin

Winston is fact checked; he claimed that China, India & Russia had pulled out.
None have.

He claimed we're transferring 'maybe32 billion out of the country in the next few years to satisfy our 'woke ambitions'
Treasury puts that cost at between 3 & 23 billion.

I think though that quite a few are now waking up to the damage Trump is doing & regretting their vote.
