Cheap Disney streaming offer - Oh_hunnihunni - 30-05-2025

Winter bargain - Disney for $4.99 a month for four months...

Now that's cheap.  Big Grin

Can you get out of it...or will they just keep billing you ?

Cancel at any time. I plan on doing that in September before the normal cost comes in. I find most streaming services really good on the cancel thing, I have done the same with other tempting offers. Prime does them every now and then too. Great for catching up on just the things you like.

I can't get Disney on my old smart tv, but it works fine on the laptop, which is perfect for cold nights early to bed with cat, hottie, and a bit of Star Wars, lol... Especially for $20 !

Cheapskate me!

Be cautious with Amazon Prime. I subscribed following one of their offers of cheap rates for a few months and then I cancelled (or at least I thought I had cancelled). I was also buying a lot of Kindle books. After about six months I cut back on my Kindle buying and noticed that I was still being billed. When I queried the charges I got a reply saying it was for Kindle books, this happened several times. By this point it was about a year since I subscribed and cancelled. I eventually tracked through every charge and checked them against my Kindle purchases and found that I was being billed once a month for a Prime sub, but it was described as a Kindle book. It then took me several months to convince Amazon to cancel my subscription, and although I tried hard to get a refund for the seven incorrect charges (about $65 in total) they refused to acknowledge it and I eventually gave up. I have never joined Prime since.

I am a tree book person, so never adopted kindle style books. I have an Amazon account (primarily for second hand books lol) but use it very rarely, and though I have an Amazon Prime streaming account - since the old telecom days, it is dormant since the last seven days free offer that let me catch up on the Dune series before I closed it down again. I am a sneaky subscriber, luxury tastes on a beer income!

I went back to the paper library, but am back to digital - returning a book at midnight and then choosing another is too hard to give up. I watched the Dune movie in friday, streamed from Three...hmmm. Just checked the bookshelf - they are all still there.

Mmmm, but Prime has the Dune series...
