Chris Bishop inserts foot in mouth - Lilith7 - 01-06-2025

His comments during Stan Walker's  performance at the NZ music awards haven't gone down awfully well. I'm not a Stan Walker fan,but he was out of order.

Well done Don McGlashan for speaking out.

I read about that - what was he complaining about you think, the music/singing/dancing or the maori cultural representation

The latter apparently.

He was cross about the tino flag waving. Stupid man.

Don McGlashan is a good bloke, and he doesn't suffer entitled buffoons gladly.   Bishop must have been roaring drunk to have behaved so oafishly.

RE: Chris Bishop inserts foot in mouth - heisenberg - 02-06-2025

he was probably just telling the truth

RE: Chris Bishop inserts foot in mouth - Oh_hunnihunni - 02-06-2025

He was. About himself and his attitudes to the people he represents.

In vino veritas.

Its  knee jerk,isn't it... Rolleyes

NO govt will ever be perfect, but this govt is reminiscent of the 80's govt with Roger Douglas which imposed Neo Liberalism here, with neither discussion nor warning & just steamrollered massive & damaging changes.

RE: Chris Bishop inserts foot in mouth - Oh_hunnihunni - 02-06-2025

It is interesting the way neo liberalism is being recognised worldwide as an initiator for all kinds of current issues.

Well, they do say good things take time.

The last Government did nothing, that was the problem. They had a majority and didn't need to consult anyone, they could've just plowed legislation through willy nilly. Good and bad from that, but mostly the lost opportunity.

I believe its been described (very accurately) as 'the rich pithing on the poor' Rolleyes Big Grin

Its an evil system which needs to be changed,as swiftly as possible.

careful what you wish for labour will need the idiot greens and the partly maoris to form a government and hipkins (if he hasnt been rolled) will promise them anything to get his arse in the big chair

RE: Chris Bishop inserts foot in mouth - Oh_hunnihunni - 02-06-2025

Idiot Greens? Partly Maoris?

Bit beneath you, imo.

I would like to see the Greens in a position of strength again. I'd like to see what they can do with that freedom. It cannot be worse than any of the others, and might just be a hell of a lot better.

SO would I, & while they'd make mistakes those are unlikely to be as dire as what some past govts have done.

If Labour had any sense they'd make their priority removing Neo Liberalism - after apologising profusely for inflicting it in the first place.

And to think they started as the working people's party,b'stards.

RE: Chris Bishop inserts foot in mouth - zqwerty - 02-06-2025

In that time you are talking about, the douglas, prebble time, Labour were infiltrated as a strategy to do exactly as they did, douglas was the instigator, prebble the lap dog, they got the idea from reagan.
