MPs caught swearing... - Lilith7 - 17-06-2025

Nooo, surely not!

MPs were caught swearing as David Seymour faces questions on regulatory reviews. He denied that the reviews were for anyone's benefit.

Of course he did... Dodgy

Seymour claims to have been 'astonished' by the swearing "clearly they're very angry about something"

Really, how very surprising. Dodgy Angry

Apparently they object to devious underhanded tactics which are very strongly far right libertarianism. Angry Dodgy

Are they going to get a 21 day stand down? No, of course not. The rules are different for them.

As for Seymour being purer than pure...

was seymore swearing? funny how every post by certain posters turns anti government

RE: MPs caught swearing... - Oh_hunnihunni - 17-06-2025

Nah, the swearers were Labour.

They aren't government.

Best not to assume...

No. Because he made a fuss about some MPs swearing. Just like he did about some other MPs doing a haka. And still others calling him out on some of his more racist legislative plans. And when he refused Mihi Forbes legitimate questions because she is making a 'crackpot government funded conspiracy theorist doco' about him and the ACT party. And his response to criticism of his failures around the school lunch programme.

He's a sensitive wee snowflake some days, that one. Doesn't like being held to account. Even Luxon is better at that particular skill.

My point however was about the unequal penalties being imposed upon different MPs for 'uncivil' behaviour. Zilch v 21 days stand down for instance...

what failure , people are getting something someone else is paying for, if they don’t like it bring their own lunch

RE: MPs caught swearing... - Oh_hunnihunni - 18-06-2025

People? Mmmm, as in children. You know, the ones it takes a village to raise...

And most do bring their own lunch. But the reality is hungry kids do not learn, and learning is what state schools are tasked to provide. So school lunch programmes are as important as clean loos, solid roofs, decent heating, and safe classrooms.

The pity is that even those basics are not applied evenly across the motu. Despite that being a government responsibility. Taxpayer funded, you know, like the support given to Bellamys and the rest?

THAT is an awful lot of perks for those Delightful People in Parliament, & the reminder of Bellamy's made me wonder if, with all their skills they might not manage to provide a healthy, nutritious & reasonably priced (say approximately the same amount they spend on feeding MP's) for schoolkids. The MPs can then have the lunches thought to be perfectly OK for school kids.
Two weeks should do it... Dodgy Rolleyes

A long time ago we rented a small holding that belonged to a chef at Bellamys. It was a lovely time for us, playing farmers, I learnt a lot of things.

But not a lot of cheffie stuff.
