Russian Earthquake - harm_less - 30-07-2025 One of the largest earthquakes ever recorded happened (8.8 magnitude) at ~11:30 NZT. Live video feed of the Japanese coastline tops Stuff's news feed on this with tsunami expected to hit Japan around 4:00pm NZT. New Zealand will likely see tsunami activity at around 11:30pm NZT. I guess we'll hear what to expect from the Solomons and Noumea as it passes through that region a few hours prior to it getting here. RE: Russian Earthquake - Lilith7 - 30-07-2025 Somewhat scary. The largest quake recorded was 9.5 off the coast of Chile in 1960. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/568469/just-how-strong-can-an-earthquake-get |
