Nicola: "It's Trump's fault" - Lilith7 - 18-09-2025

Handy, to have someone to blame. All a result of the American tarifffs apparently. According to Nicola Willis. But 'she's certain things will get better soon'...
And she says that  'her plan is working'....

Of course - she didn't actually say exactly what her plan is. Rolleyes

Our economy has shrunk by 0.9% - in contrast to Oz, which recorded growth of 0.6%...

of course nothing to do with slashing government spending and laying off thousands of staff, that obviously had no impact at all...

It's what happens when you let small-time business men take over the running of a country, they're still focused on the gathering of money and penny pinching, running a country is not about that.

You need magnanimous personalities who don't care about riches because they already have experienced that state of being.

Trump and Luxon are good examples of who not to put in charge of running a country if you want the people to thrive.

Money is a tool not an end in itself.

Blame someone else. The four year old's solution to every problem.

One term government.

Swearing is good for longevity. And staying out of jail.

On the one hand - Oh crap - I may be around longer than anticipated!

On the other - Well, there has to be some benefit! Rolleyes Big Grin

Apparently it's 408 days until we can ditch these turkeys.

Neither of whom are likely to return to governance. You might have missed that news...

Rightwingers always were a bit slow...

Even Heisenberger couldn't want this state of affairs to continue. Migration figures to Oz? Big business closures? Continued cost of living rises? Employment figures? Property prices? Rents dropping?

These are not good economic indicators.

That's probably based on the latest an election can occur. However if an early election is required, say for example if the coalition collapses, it could well be sooner. That would maybe be due to a major dummy spit by Winnie or Rimmer. We live in hope.

ETA: Nope, 408 days (from yesterday) is October 31st, but the latest next year's one can happen is December 19th. 408 days is probably loosely based on 2023 election date which was 14th October. Whenever it happens we can definitely expect a very boisterous campaign from all involved.

I doubt that either will want to pull the plug - coaliltion partners rarely do well when an unpopular government is voted out. We could hope to see winnie under 5% and act taking 1 seat but only polling 2 or 3%.

This is why you never vote for National, they just screw things up.
