RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 05-11-2022 Morning everyone Looks like it will a stunning day. Yeah I'm early cos Im nipping over to Pukekohe to hopefully get what I couldn't yesterday. And then my Christmas shopping will be done apart from some munchies for MrP. I actually just went to empty the bag from yesterday and the pompom on the reindeer has fallen off, was in the bag thankfully so I will put that back on later. Still haven't heard about what was happening with the police yesterday. I thought MrP wouldn't be happy when I told him I couldn't get to Binn inn for his tatties cos of the police but he understood. .. Thinking about it now tho, Im glad we passed when we did. Cos it might have been different had the police or offender had have been out of the cars. I just re-read what Ive put. Normally the fine days brings me down into S.A.D but Im actually enjoying things at the mo. I wonder if it is cos Im actually out in the sun getting some VitD. And without the 47 kilos blanket I was carrying around Im handling the heat better.. at this stage. Have a fab day everyone.. Off for my last bit of retail therapy... Oh and free selling on TM today. RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 05-11-2022 Morning all Beautiful day here too Successful fabric hunt yesterday, fabric washed so just got to find time to hack and sew. DD wants company to go to local quilt shop 40 min drive from here, could be dangerous as I have some quilts floating in my mind. DH will be left home to do vacuum and general tidy so I am on a winner Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 05-11-2022 (05-11-2022, 06:45 AM)popeye333 Wrote: Morning everyone Free selling? I have listed one of my rugs so let's hope free listing applies to that if it sells. I always object to commission on my bigger sale items, but T M has to make money... The downsizing continues! Im the same when it comes to the fees, but it gets a wider audience in most cases. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 06-11-2022 morning ladies Another stunning day on the cards for today by the looks of it. We had a very busy day yesterday with a family get together for a family members big birthday. It started very early and we were home in time to watch the Black Ferns beat France. Lake Rotoma was very hot but a great place for a BBQ and celebration. I have my first (and last, I hope) touch of sunburn so summer is here already in my mind. OMG wasn't that the best game of rugby last evening between the Black Ferns and the French. I'll say it again and again, watching our girls play is just pure joy and the men could learn something from them about that. That last minute was nail biting and as much as I wanted the French to miss the kick, I was gutted for her. The look on her face said it all. Today we will sort the chilly bin out and all the usual stuff you do after a day away. We need a new chilly bin, our 30 year old bin is giving up the ghost. We'll have a look around and see what's on offer. MrK wants a good solid one as we use it as a seat as well. Better get moving, the Furry One is bashing my leg with his tug rope. Being his well-trained mum, I can take the hint and start playing with him. He seems happy to play in the morning and sleep in the afternoons now. Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 06-11-2022 Good morning. Overcast outside and have had some drizzle. Expecting another lovely day though. Yesterday was a certainly a sign of summer. Also busy yesterday with family here who stayed over the night before. The old feline seems fine, with the vet cleaning out his cut ear (already showing infection). It appears his neighbouring enemy also ok, currently doing a balancing act walking on top of the fence, thus provoking my boy The cat flap has been closed! Yes, the Black Ferns provided a thrilling game. It's a great team deserving of final victory. We've had fireworks each night since sale ... including randomly during the night/early hours. There were spectacular displays on all 4 sides last night. Terrified pooch just has to grin and bear it No particular plans today, I have some seedling lettuce, beetroot, basil and marjoram to plant out. There is always weeding waiting in the wings! Cuppa finished, time for a dog walk. Enjoy the day all. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 06-11-2022 Morning everyone Another nice day here too... But oddly I've been cold. I have a cardy on this morning. But I was sitting with a blanket on yesterday afternoon. And I put the big blanket back on the bed at 4am this morning. I saw both rugby games came down to one point.. Thats a good game. Ive never understood rugby but dont watch it. I think the last 2 days have caught up so not much on my agenda. Rubbish and recycle later. And I can't get distracted this time cos the recycle is full lol. MrP has been good the last few days.. Yay. I to got a tshirt for him with the Indian Motorcycle brand on it for Christmas. Not what I wanted but he will love it. Ill check our local coin save and see if they have an Indian Chief Indian. And some tealight candles. Then my Christmas shopping is done. Two things not exactly what I wanted but still the same thing lol. My Jack the Ripper Book is too good. I read too late. This one has more details correct than some I have read. Have to cook some Taties tomorrow before I go to see MrP. He will love them. But I won't partake. I only like them hot. And used to sprinkle chicken stock on them. But the stock changed and I dont like it now. Funny thing MrPs family all call them Platies, I dont know how that came about. Have a fab day all RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 06-11-2022 morning all another beautiful day here - sign summer on way but we know that that can change in an instant at this time of the year. Had a nice morning out and about with DD she found most of what she wanted at quilt shop I came out with a couple of bits too, marbled blue for backgound of one of the quilts swirling around in the concept stage and some backing for a quilt that I made 20years ago, washed it last year and the wool batting totally shrank and shrank, I knew that I had used some wool batting from spotlight in 3 quilts way back then , had identified 2 and couldnt remember which was the third. So will re-quilt that as it has been a family favourite in the swappa quilt pile. Family come and swap out quilts to get a different look in their bedrooms. Suits me as I would rather they are lying around on a bed than languishing in the wardrobe here. We also popped in to the childrens bookshop - love that shop and went to Bata - DD lucked out there as nothing in her size that she picked out. Finished sewing the dress yesterday afternoon, just need to get buttons. Will have a look through my button container but whats the bet that there are not 7 matching ones. Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 06-11-2022 Chook wrangling this morning! Rather a nice way to start the day. One of nextdoor's lot jumped the fence and came to my front door so got scooped up and tossed over the fence. Been a while since I had a chook in my arms! RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 06-11-2022 hahaha OHH, time for a wing clip for the chook, maybe. Been a while for me too since I've held one. I've had a bit of a tutu in the garden. I found a dahlia tuber, heaven knows what colour it is and planted that along with a rustic fence post to support it. The new sage plant was moved closer to the garden edge for easier picking which meant the new African daisy I planted the other day had to be shifted too. As MrK points out to me regularly, the plants in the garden needn't get too comfy lol. We have flowers on the tomatoes and MrK is freezing the broad beans. Peas are up and the courgettes are going nuts. And I found some new buds on the roses so all may not be lost. Roses are tough, that's for sure. A lady in the rose group I belong to posted a pic of all the sprays she uses It made me feel for the birds with that food source gone. Not a sign of aphids here and I haven't sprayed for them in six years. RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 06-11-2022 Cold again here but I'm definitely not going to re clip the duvet inner back on, because I know the minute I do, its going to turn hot again. Have done a bit more ivy murder out there & making some small progress. RE: You can never have enough... - Venetian1 - 06-11-2022 Nice day but a bit nippy, at least the garden won’t dry out as quickly. The birds discovered my tray of tomato seedlings and dug several of the bigger ones out - not sure what the birds were after but have covered the baby plants now. Nearly at the end of the Christmas shawl, about 450 stitches across now so growing more slowly. I want to do a picot cast off so that will be slow. Have a couple of “no think” things on the needles too when I get tired of having to concentrate quite as much. Stained half a deck of a friend yesterday so will go soon and do the other half. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 06-11-2022 I had to get up in the small hours and fetch my Amish to add another layer. Fortunately it hadn't hibernated yet and was draped over the chair three steps away... I might leave it at the foot of the bed for a few more weeks. Just in case. A picot edge was one thing my gran managed to get into my head, it is a pretty thing, worth the effort. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 06-11-2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY OH_HUNNIHUNNI. I hope you have had an awesome day. My sister would have been 66 today.. I did remember yours, when I went offline of course and I painted rather than being online at lunch time. My mother always said March could have a sting in the tail and remain hot, but this November isn't playing fair either lol Ive had my cardy on all day. MrP decided to leave a window open last night but felt the chill. Sitting here with a tissue taped on my arm as Madam Feline jumped down from the back of my chair and didn't get the landing right and tore 2 holes in my arm .. baggage... Shes not bothered, she back up there quite happy lol RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 06-11-2022 Thank you popeye, I had a lovely day. My cousins brought cake and lunch, plus a couple of new puzzles for me, and I managed to persuade them to take some family stuff away with them so I now have a bit more free space. ANNNNNNNNNNNNNND my rug scored a bid, so I will be indulging in a couple of things on my Want list in a week or so which will improve my life a teeny bit. Being 70 is turning out fine, lol. Hope the claw holes heal up fast! RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 06-11-2022 (06-11-2022, 05:27 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: Thank you popeye, I had a lovely day. I was keeping schtum, but as the gaff is now well & truly blown, happy birthday. Cake, & a bid and getting shot of more things is an excellent birthday. I even got pinot gris from a neighbour lol, so news has spread. Oh, and the blardy chook is back. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 07-11-2022 morning ladies A mixed bag today by the looks of it, cloudy and sunshine. A good birthday indeed, OHH Happy birthday for yesterday. Cheers! for a great day I'm heading outside shortly to weed before the temperatures rise. A little bit everyday does wonders for the soul and the garden. And this afternoon I'll sew some more stocking stuffer pouches. They are quick and easy and look different. And there is the added bonus I'm using up those smaller bits of fabric. The car goes in for a WoF on Wednesday. While it's there we'll ask for the ball on the tow bar to be changed to a different size. MrK has a replacement but the huge nut that holds it all together has been tightened with one of those air guns and he can't budge it. Then we can borrow our friend's trailer to buy a bulk load of soil. Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 07-11-2022 Morning all another beautiful day here sounds like a love birthday celebration OHH - Happy birthday quietish day yesterday did some chores in the morning and decided to try out the quilt that has been swirling in my mind - making a smaller version and will donate if I like I will make a bigger version for DGS 5th birthday. Off to gym soon if I can extract feline enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 07-11-2022 Morning everyone Fine and a little chilly here. So pleased you had an awesome Day OHH.. Sounds about perfect to me. And enjoy getting your useful spoils. I didn't get around to listing anything. But TM is bound to do it again. Off to see MrP this morning. Its 5 days since I saw him lol. He has been behaving too thank goodness. I want to see Bobbie today to. But I'll have to go to her room MrP is being a grumpy when it comes to her at the mo. I've learnt that if I keep my leg down more when Im sitting it doesn't hurt as bad. But of course need to elevate them for fluid retention lol.. So Im doing an hour at each way. And it's pretty good. I painted yesterday and am really enjoying it again. When I have had some more sales Im going to buy the Ostrich one, and save it for my next project. But I won't order it until next year either, cos things can very easily go MIA over Christmas. Ill get some candles today. Then I can take photos to show MrP what we are giving to my Sister friend and then I can pack that up and get it sent early for a change. lol. My Aussie friend has her wish and has covid. I almost felt like congratulating her. Utter craziness, she seems to think that once you have it you dont get it again. I am worried about her Daughter tho who is scared for her mum so I've been talking to her and telling her Mum is lucky to have it now with the anti-viral meds etc. Im missing my wee vege patch... I was looking online last night. Certainly can't afford a vege-pod but Bunnings have a nice metal trolley garden that's a good height and will be big enough for me to grow a few lettuces and my chives. And maybe a couple of strawberries next year. So that's another thing for the wish list and easily moved too. Have a fab day everyone |
