RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 08-11-2022 (08-11-2022, 03:06 PM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote: Someone gave me Lindauer Pinot Gris for my birthday. Fizzy stuff. I could get used to it, but I prefer my wine not fighting back... I prefer fizzy to flat lol.. And def not tarty lol RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 09-11-2022 morning ladies We have rain! The garden will be happy. yummmm pinot gris! The Noir is very yummy too. The car goes in for its WoF this morning so that's a big chunk of the morning done and dusted. I'll go for my walk while they do it as long as the rain holds off. When we lived in town, I would drop the car off and walk home and then back again when they phoned to pick it up. We didn't get to see the Blood Moon as the clouds were so thick last evening. I'll have to get my space fix from online photos. Later this afternoon I plan to work on the quail's design. I've had to think how to do the teeny stitches down its neck and I have an idea now how to do it. I'll have a tutu with that idea first. Spotlight have 40% off fabric so if you are passing it could be worthwhile to have a look. Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 09-11-2022 Morning all Another lovely day here. We had a great day with our friends yesterday, leftovers for dinner tonight. A selection of wines available as everyone has a preferred tipple, my bench has 4 opened bottles they will last us a while Not sure what I will get up to today there might be some quilting to do on the trial quilt. Time for gym wonder what mean stuff my trainer has in store for me today Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-11-2022 Morning everyone No moon for me either. But will look at photos. The money that was supposed to go in overnight isn't there yet. So I need to pull my patience out and wait. Im wavering tho cos I really need ink for the printer too, so will have to see which wins lol. Off to see MrP again this morning. Have to cook some taties first. How he can eat them cold beats me. But I've also gone off them for the amount of oil they hold no matter how long you drain them or rub them with paper towels Yuck lol I might go into the oppy on the way home if its not raining . They have their Christmas gear out. I allow myself one decoration a year. And I decided last night to buy another lead for the lawnmower etc. Its long enough but not by a small 2 meters really so it will mean I dont have to go in and change the point they are plugged in during the job. Birds are in, so I must get some more seed. They have the last of my bread. Talking of bread I spoilt myself and got a loaf of tip top Oatalicious, it has been sitting on the bench for a week and still super fresh. Im very impressed. Says on the front oaty without the lumps or something to that effect. I like it. Since I will be going to town tomorrow I may nip into spotlight and look at the Christmas fabric and make a teddy. I wish we could have a Kmart and then other than hospital or clinic appointments I wouldnt have to go any further than Pukekohe. And they have 3 kmarts withing a small area around Manukau city. Have a fab day everyone RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 09-11-2022 All that wine out there and my fridge is empty. Still, I did clean it after the dishes last night so it is all ready for loading up today when I get back from the usual Wednesday coffee run. I even moved a shelf around so I have more useful space, only taken me a couple of years to get it right! Had the corporate LL around the place yesterday armed with clipboard and manwithtapemeasure, so suggested to her they think about hedging rather than the long fence contractors have been busy pricing up. Cheaper, just as secure, more appropriate to the setting, environmentally more positive, and quicker to put in place, and blow me down she made notes on the idea. Fingers crossed, the fences they've been putting in around the area have been prison camp strength, and no, we don't want that between us and the beautiful reserve with its trees and bird life... But who knows. Corporates do their own thing... RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 09-11-2022 Good morning. Some welcome rain during the night, a good boost for the seedlings I planted out yesterday. The sun is trying to come out. No blood moon viewing possible here either with a cloudy sky and some drizzle. Didn't stop stupid, random fireworks though Hairdresser today, nothing in particular planned. Hopefully able to be outside, seeing as it has clouded over again. Might need to do a spotlight drive by! Enjoy the day all. RE: You can never have enough... - Venetian1 - 09-11-2022 My baby plants are singing in the rain - well actually more of a drizzle but better than nothing which is all we’ve had for quite a while now. Saw the blood moon as just happened to wake just after 12, the moon was rather small but definitely a reddish colour. Popeye be careful giving bread to birds. There was a bird expert on TV last night (think it was 7 sharp but I wasn’t really concentrating on the TV until I heard him talking) he was telling of the dangers associated with bird feeders and not feeding bread to birds. We have a pond in the park near me and quite a few ducks and swans have angel wing and deformed feet due to bread feeding fortunately most people have now got the message for ducks but don’t realise it can affect all birds. RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 09-11-2022 I saw that as well Venetian. Who knew you should be washing your bird feeders every day as well, because of bacteria (eg salmonella)with all the bird poo build up! I'll just stick to my bird bath and give it a bit more hosing out than normal! RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 09-11-2022 Yep Venetian, I dont normally give them bread but it was only the crusts. I make seed cakes but ran out of them a while back. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 09-11-2022 I scrubbed our bird bath the other day and filled it as the birds were bathing in and drinking from the Furry One's outdoor water. Took it as a hint lol. I scrub the bird bath regularly as it's under a tree and lots of leaf litter fall into it. The car passed its WoF Only needed a wiper blade. They changed the ball on the tow bar over for us too so we can now tow my friend's trailer. Before I took the car in for the WoF, I drew the quail onto the fabric, chose all the threads, overlocked the fabric and laced it to the stand. I'll outline the quail with running stitch shortly and then I'm good to start. There aren't as many colours in this piece, so this will make a nice change. It takes a good two hours of prep before I can stitch. There are roses FINALLY flowering in the garden Gertrude Jeckyl hasn't minded in the slightest I hacked her back and moved her last summer and Albertine really likes the new wires we strung up. I love having the canes along the wires as it forces all the flowers to stand upright. And for some weird reason, Jack Frost is pink instead of white. Might have to do some research on this. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-11-2022 Morning ladies A beautiful start to the day so I'm up early and plan to be out mowing the lawn shortly before the day becomes too hot. We have birds nesting in the roof and the babies are hungry already lol. We hear them every time we're in the kitchen and they go nuts when the parents arrive with food. While the birds were building nests, I threw out some of my embroidery thread ends and they were snapped up by the birds. I suspect there will be some gorgeous greens and blues built into nests this spring When we had pekin ducks the birds would follow the ducks to collect the moulted feathers in the spring. The nests were beautiful and soft for their babies. Coffees finished and the washing machine has beeped. Time to get cracking. Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 10-11-2022 Another visit happening this morning with our corporate LL, this time at my request, because some damned fool has put a portaloo near my kitchen windows, and I am a tad offended by it. So, before anyone uses it, I want it moved to a less inconsiderate place. I don't like my chances, lol... Sometimes, being a tenant is the same as being a serf in a feudal system. But we shall see. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 10-11-2022 Morning everyone Also up early lol. I love putting bits of yarn out for the birds... And can only imagine the colours. I saved many when I was making toys. OHH Id be complaining too, bet they wouldnt like one out their kitchen window either. Sock it to them !!! Ive had a wee change of plan. Im buying a new printer instead. Sadly these days you need one, especially when dealing with Winz. So there are specials but the ink is the hefty bit.. And Im nipping up to Papakura cos Pukekohe doesnt have colour ink. Grr... Only about 10-15kms more I think from memory. And Ill go to my fave fruit shops and get some strawberries..YUMMM Managed to find a couple of pairs of tiny shoes for Bobbie yesterday, so after doing my blood Ill drop those off for her. A tiny size 6.. I dont remember being that small in shoes lol. So while out Ill make the most of the choices of supermarkets.. I will move to a place with them all one day. Have a fab day everyone RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 10-11-2022 (10-11-2022, 06:21 AM)popeye333 Wrote: Morning everyone I don't have room for a printer, so if I have to send stuff to Winz I do it by attaching copies to emails and sending it to their client info address. Ask your Winz person about it, might save you some dollars to spend on more power tools, lol! RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 10-11-2022 Morning all Looks nice outdoors but the metservice website says the temp will be cool today so put away my summer t today. OHH I wouldn't be happy about the pirtaloo either. Got baby quilt quilted and binding sewn on just got to hand stitch that so saving that task for next week at quilt group. I find it hard to not finish it now! Today is volunteer day. Enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 10-11-2022 (10-11-2022, 06:24 AM)Oh_hunnihunni Wrote:(10-11-2022, 06:21 AM)popeye333 Wrote: Morning everyone Ive tried doing that but it never works for me... Im also going to be making Calendars for the July Babies, with Big numbers. And Ima list girl so it will be good. The one Im getting is wireless so hopefully that will make things easier, it can live in the sewing room.. RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 10-11-2022 Good morning. Lovely sunshine after a bit more rain during the night. Looks promising for a nice day. What printer are you looking at Popeye, my big old printer is just hanging on, black and white only and temperamental to boot. It will be good to have a smaller wifi version next. I have had a look online but gave up, lol. Definitely complain about the portaloo location OHH, they didn't think that one out very well! Good luck. I'm the occasional haircutter in this family and if warm, do so on the lawn, the latest white blond locks may well be lining a nest ... they disappeared quickly, lol! I have my sewing machine out to alter a baggy blouse, which has inspired me to seek out some fabric ... I see Spotlight has gingham which I can see on wee girls' dresses with an attempt at embroidery in the bodice. We await the newest wee girl, any day now .... Cuppa has finished, time for doggy walk. Enjoy the day all. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 10-11-2022 oh gross, a portaloo by a kitchen. Someone hasn't got a brain. Popeye, we use the My MSD online site and it works for us. Much quicker and they have everything sorted within five days. And all our letters from them are posted there as well as posted by snail mail so I don't have to keep any of their mail. You can also upload any documents you need too. I do all of MrK's WINZ stuff I've given up on buying ink for the printer and now have a self serve printing card from the Warehouse Stationery. Cheaper and quicker. I've kept the printer though as the scanner part is useful. Every now and then I put a few $$ on the card and if we need anything printed, we wait until we are in town. What a mission to mow the lawn. The rain and the warmth have made the grass grow thicker and more quickly. Even though I mowed a week ago, it took an extra half hour as I was emptying the catcher so many times. We've had some huge gusts of southerly wind this morning, even our big tree had a bend in it. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 10-11-2022 (10-11-2022, 08:37 AM)kiwimade64 Wrote: oh gross, a portaloo by a kitchen. Someone hasn't got a brain. Yes the bamboo next door is horizontal at times, but that's okay, I have finished brushing down and hosing all my outside windows and woodwork. We get a nasty sticky black road dust that needs sugar soaping every couple of months so today mine got dealt to. Funny thing, now the neighbours are out there doing theirs. RE: You can never have enough... - Venetian1 - 10-11-2022 Up early this am as doing school breakfast - don’t think any of the kids are actually starving and they all turned their noses up at the end crusts off the bread so I’ve brought them home for breadcrumbs - had one for morning tea though with peanut butter, I like crusts. I like my little printer it is wireless and doesn’t get a lot of work but handy to be able to just print off something as needed. BiL has been able to get inks quite cheaply, forgotten just where from but hunt around a bit for them. |
