Totally Agree.. and yep he will keep that bit to himself. I hope its the only supermarket too. Maybe the old fella has been watching too much Coro. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 12-02-2023 I gave up on Coro, after a lifetime of watching, just a year or so back. It just got weird, so I swapped over to Emmerdale just as a serial killing nutter started wiping out her neighbours, lol... Now it is a regular lunch date!! It just got weird, so I swapped over to Emmerdale just as a serial killing nutter started wiping out her neighbours, lol... Now it is a regular lunch date!! I was once addicted to Eastenders from the first episode, it was quite good back then. And then the bastards decided to put it on Sky - time to break the addiction. Just finished watching Clickbait on netflix & I defy anyone to foresee that twist at the end! RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 13-02-2023 morning ladies Welcome Cyclone Gabrielle, now you can buggar off. We gave up on Coro St years ago and Emmerdale is MrK's firm favourite. He used to watch Home & Away but they changed the time it played so now watches Emmerdale after the lunchtime news. We loved the serial killer story line, she was just so evil! I'm taking our elderly friend to his hospital appointment this morning so it will be a very slow and careful drive with all this wind. I have the last box of fabric from my sister-in-law and need some advice with some of the fabric please. I'll take pics after I'm home from Hamilton and post them here. It's lace and absolutely gorgeous but I'll never use it in a million years. Am hoping you can help me with a description for Market Place and a fair asking price. Someone will be able to make some stunning dresses or tops with it. Better get cracking. happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 13-02-2023 I woke up to steady rain but quiet with no wind, and discovered my scooter cover had been ripped off and was minus tie downs and inner lining, so I have everything crossed it isn't completely ruined. I'll have to wait till dawn to see if I can find the missing items, it is pointless looking till I have both light and contact lenses in place. I did check before I slept that all was tight and secured, but I guess the wind must have been at just the right angle over night to work everything loose. Oh well, at least it was just the scoot! RE: You can never have enough... - Venetian1 - 13-02-2023 Rather damp here, woke a couple of times in the night to the noise of the rain - it was rather heavy to wake me as I have a tiled roof, but it didn’t keep me awake Have to go to do the housework for an elderly friend which I help her with the heavier things every couple of weeks but then it will be an a door day for sure. Have plenty I can do though. I’m still playing around with my feta cheese recipe, the last lot turned out well but I want to try it with normal blue top milk as we can’t always get the one I used last time and if it works it will be quite a lot cheaper. RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 13-02-2023 Good morning. Quite wet but not wild yet! Just back from morning school run after son agreeing to do the afternoon pick up. Hoping Alert Level Orange means not quite as bad here but will be inside anyway with GD. Baking sounds a good plan to start with. It will be interesting to see the lace KM, not that I'd know how to deal with it. I have a DIL who targets lace clothes in Op Shops I hope the scooter cover can be put back together OHH. We have Fort Knox here with everything tied down outside, so I hope it all holds! Time for baking. Stay warm and dry all. RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 13-02-2023 Morning everyone A bit wild and wooly here overnight. but the trees and fences are still standing. I am pleased the yukkas that were hitting the guttering were trimmed tho. Was rather chilly overnight so my Furry Hottie spent most of the night sharing heat on me. I do wonder how many people didn't think to put their wheelie bins inside or leaning against something or away so that the wind couldn't open them. Not good re the scooter Cover OHH. I bet they arent cheap either. Fingers crossed it will be close to home. MrP told me last night not to visit today, more worried about the car than me lol.. But I can live with that. Had a nice chat with my older Brother late yesterday, he is up north but was ok when we were talking. He had bowel cancer a couple of years ago and was saying they have finally removed the colostomy bag so he feels more normal. I couldnt have delt with that sort of stuff, even for myself. Stay safe and warm everyone.. Have a fab day RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 13-02-2023 morning all fine day here expecting the wind to arrive later today Had to get out of bed with the k9s at 6.15 this morning so that I could catch a first urine sample for the day thank goodness I put her on a lead because she fairly sprinted down stairs to the grass - sample obtained and delivered to vet on my way to the gym. I am sploit DH usually gets up and brings me a cup of tea in bed. I have a meeting this afternoon currently doing the reading for that - reading the messages much more fun. Anyway the meeting content keeps my grey cells active enjoy your day RE: You can never have enough... - popeye333 - 13-02-2023 Have to admit to enjoying the Nina time on Emmerdale. It will always be my preferred serial. I see Coro only cos its back ground noise but cannot stand that stupi Steven. Wish they would hurry up and get rid of him. I saw Alan who plays Tyrone on Celebrity Tipping point the other night and hes quite slim. So they either bulk up his clothes or he has lost weight. Spoke to MrP's dr before. They are happy with his fluid level so taking out the pump and will still keep an eye on his intake. And see how the oral med works. Keeping an eye on his weight and bloods once a week. RE: You can never have enough... - JanW - 13-02-2023 Good afternoon - wind is picking up with short bursts of rain - chilling down for sure .My sawmill/farmer son has gladly handed the supermarket baton back to Robie - has decided he is very lucky dealing with product going out the gate on a truck to a building merchant who deals with the customers The kids who rely on breakfast and lunch at school will be having a miserable day - their Mums probably didn’t have the cash to go to the supermarket over the weekend and stock up I tried my first purple capsicum last night - must say it looks lovely but is basically tasteless Found a webcam site that shows the beaches all around - the sea is certainly rough - wasted far too much time on it - better get cracking and do a row or two of crochet RE: You can never have enough... - JanW - 13-02-2023 My brother lives right on the beach - the sea is incredible - said it is as high as the day Waihine sunk - sent me an amazing photo - he has a wicked sense of humour - on his Facebook post he has posted synchronised swimming lessons cancelled today RE: You can never have enough... - Lilith7 - 13-02-2023 I hope the scooter cover can be found & its intact; that, or easily fixable Hunni. Perhaps keep one or two bricks for holding it in place tucked away in case of more strong winds. I generally have a few tucked away outside & after the quakes they came in very handy for building a makeshift outside fireplace. Good luck driving in the wild weather KM, & hope you can sort the fabric. That would be so disappointing, Jan - purple is my favourite colour so I'd have expected better! Sweetie darling no. 2 called in at lunchtime as he's working locally just now; he was saying that he'd been down to the local Buddhist temple a few days back & gave them a hand with a couple of things around the place. He was slightly shocked when one of them tried to pay him so I think they've understood that he's just helping for the sake of being useful now. He & DIL & two of the grandkids visited Thailand a few years ago & keep in touch with some of the locals they met there. Warm here today but we had a bit of rain to start with so can't do much outside. RE: You can never have enough... - Oh_hunnihunni - 13-02-2023 Someone up here posted a pic of a smashed up channel marker buoy that has washed up asking someone to ID it. I found the cover and tie down, and have repositioned both with additional parachute cord ties, so with luck that will stand up to the gales tonight. I guess we'll just have to see, there's not much else I can do without an adequately roofed shelter for it. I am glad New World are doing free delivery though, I am very close to running out of gingernuts... ? Oh! And a very dear friend who lives in Gettysburg messaged me to say Auckland was on her evening news. Nice to be noticed occasionally by the leaders of the free world, lol... Famous in Gettysburg eh - the height of fame! Looks really rough going by news footage - hope it eases off soon & all of you up there have a peaceful night. RE: You can never have enough... - kiwimade64 - 14-02-2023 morning ladies Wow, we had some wind last night! But we're still here I was sorry to read there is a firefighter missing in Auckland and another in a critical condition. We are expecting my sister-in-law today as she is taking a close family friend to her oncology appointment at Waikato so is calling in on her way home. Things may change though depending on Gabrielle. No power outages here but we did hear a big bang last evening. MrK went out to investigate and couldn't find anything so we will look again this morning. A crafting day for most of us, today, I would think. Look after yourselves and I hope you are all in a safe place. Especially those in Napier/Hastings as they now have a state of emergency. Happy crafting RE: You can never have enough... - Roma - 14-02-2023 Good morning. It's not raining at present but completely sodden outside after nearly 150mmm of rain, most overnight. Gabrielle has certainly wreaked havoc in many areas. I will venture out for groceries this morning but then an inside day. No crafting done yesterday so will be able to today I'm thinking. Lol KM, those loud bangs/noises in the dark can keep you thinking especially when you're trying to sleep! I was pleased all seemed fine on our patch this morning! Time to move. Have a good day all. RE: You can never have enough... - Mica - 14-02-2023 Morning all Windy here and a bit of rain cool temp Things that go bang in the night and set off the k9s Dentist check up this morning then a day in the sewing cave not sure what I will sew but something will jump out no doubt. DD is over this morning using my office so good excuse to not do any of my stuff Stay safe |
